The first day was boring as usual. I had work to do, had already been assigned homework, and had stolen about eight cupcakes from the kitchen.

   So yeah, a normal day.

  I was busy working on my Charms notes when I heard someone walk in.

   Emily. The girl who had bullied Nadia last year.

   She was chatting with her friends when she saw me, her face forming a scowl. I glared straight back at her.

   "Well look who it is," she snarled. "Filthy half-breed."

   "Well at least I'm not some stupid little bi-"

  "Watch it," she spat. "Don't speak to me that way."

  "I just did," I snapped. "You gonna call your daddy to come and stop me?"

   "Bloodtraitor," she spat at me, face going red. "Have fun when people like you and your friends are illegal. We'll see who's laughing in the end."

  I stood there, not breaking my gaze. That girl was going to pay. And I was not going to let her act like a high and mighty little motherfu-

   "You okay Lyssa?" Zoey asked. The three of us girls were sitting in the corridor after dinner, and I couldn't help but think about what had happened in the library earlier that day.

   "Fine," I muttered. But it wasn't fine. I swore to myself that this girl was going to regret she ever messed with us.
