The Plan

The Plan

There will be a surprise in this chapter. :) For all those Dramione Fans out there as well. Not saying anymore on the subject. Now, READ MY PRETTIES!!!!

"Love, we have to get to Dumbledore's office," Severus mumbled softly to his sleeping and pregnant girlfriend. Okay, no, she wasn't technically his girlfriend. However, he thought of her as his girlfriend. He was just too scared to actually ask her. After all, it took him years to even decide that he was going to tell Lily of his feelings for her. It would take a while before he could admit anything or ask her anything in a relationship.

She groaned and pulled the covers up over her head, trying to shut Severus up. He wasn't having it, though. He would love to get back under the covers and cuddle up against her, miss breakfast and classes. He enjoyed her company and touch too much. However, Albus had requested their presence, so they must go. Out of respect, if nothing else. He pulled the covers off her, revealing her smooth, creamy skin and white matching undergarments.

"I don't want to go, Severus," She wined, rolling over to face him. He smiled.

"I don't either," he said, kissing her softly. "But we have too," he went on.

Pouting, Hermione got up. Firstly, she had to go throw up. Then after that she hurriedly got dress. Severus was watching her the entire time with a look that made Hermione get hot. Hormones. The worst. They held hands as they neared the Gargoyle that guarded the Headmaster's office.

"Cockroach Clusters," Severus said at the gargoyle. It jumped aside to let them through the door.

"Ah, Severus, Miss Granger, I thought you'd forgotten," Albus said happily.

"Yes, well, we'd rather not be here. However, we came here strictly out of respect for you, Albus," Severus said coldly. It was a different voice and look than what Hermione had seen yesterday, even this morning. It almost made her cry.

The older man nodded solemnly. "I understand Severus."

"What is this business that it had to happen this early?" Hermione asked, butting in. She didn't like the way Severus was acting right now. He was so sweet and loving in their Chambers. Now he was back to the way he used to be. Evil and rude. Her nostrils flared as she got angry with him. Severus said nothing as he sat down in one of the arm chairs opposite of Albus' desk. He pulled Hermione down to sit on his lap. He could tell that she was a little upset about something. He didn't know that it was about him, though.

Albus looked between the two of them curiously. Severus deserved love, and Hermione was willing to love him. She did love him, if not, she wouldn't be having his child. Albus really didn't want to do this. He knew for sure that it would ruin Severus' chance at love and a trusting relationship. Minerva would have his head though, if he backed out. He cared for the old woman too much to really object. Also, he was about ready to retire from the school. She would be in charge before long. "I would like to have Miss Granger tutor Mr. Malfoy," Albus said quietly.

Severus eyes went angry. "What? Are you daft?" He asked with venom.

"No, Severus, I'm not daft. Mr. Malfoy's grades in his classes are well. Except for transfiguration. He's falling behind in there and Minerva wants him to succeed in his NEWTS. So, Hermione, being the best witch in her year, will tutor him until his grades are better," Albus said in a "that's final" tone.

"Headmaster, can't there be anyone else? I don't think I'm emotionally sound to deal with Malfoy at the present moment," Hermione said sweetly.

Albus peered over his half-moon spectacles to look at Hermione in her eyes. "I think you will do just fine, Miss Granger," he said with a smile.

Yes, and nifflers can fly, Severus thought bitterly. He didn't' want his love to be tutoring Malfoy. He cared for Draco, he was the boys' Godfather after all. He was obliged to care for the boy. However, Draco was a sneaky, sly, seductive mess. He would prey upon his love and try to catch her. He never did before simply because he was influenced by his father too much. Now, though, he was his own man. He was free to go after whoever he fancied. What if Draco fancied Hermione? What would happen to him? What if she fancied Draco?

"Now, let's all go to breakfast, Miss Granger, I think it would be prudent for you to go ahead, so that you won't be seen with us teachers," Albus said, dismissing her. Hermione got up off Severus' lap regretfully. His hand that had been rubbing her thigh in a comforting manor, whether it was for himself or her was undecided, had been dropped. She found she missed it as she turned her back on the Headmaster. Moving to the door, she felt her blood boiling a bit. Malfoy? It had to be him! She found that without Severus' touch, she was easy to get angry. This was going to be a long and angry day for her.

She just hoped that Harry and Ginny wouldn't take it to heart if she went off on them. She really didn't mind going off on Ron, though. In fact, she hoped that he would be there so that she could go off on him. It would make her feel so much better. The only thing that would be better would be if she could give the git a detention for being himself. She can't, though, she could perhaps persuade Severus to give him one. She grinned evilly at the thought. Harry was beside Ginny, talking happily. When they saw her, the both grinned and waved her over. She felt a wave of happiness flood her. Then, it disappeared when she saw him. Draco was at his table being told by Minerva that he would be tutored by her. He wasn't very happy about it either. He glared at her as Minerva went away. She simply returned that glare.

As if she wanted to spend her free time tutoring Draco when she could be spending it with Severus. Planning for their child. However, she would be spending the fortnights ahead tutoring Draco. How she hated it.

"What's wrong, Hermione?" Ginny asked when she finally sat down.

"Draco is failing Transfiguration, so I will have to tutor him until he gets his grades up," Hermione said bitterly. Piling food on her plate, she started eating angrily.

Occasionally she would stab her sausage so hard it would cause a squeal on her plate that would send a chill up Harry's spine. Although, Harry didn't bother asking her anything, or even talk to her because her hormones would be all over the place. He'd read about that during the summer at Grimuald place. It was in the library, so Harry thought he'd give it a try. It wasn't too bad. Other than the fact that he's had nightmares about Ginny giving birth and seeing all the blood coming from her.

"Miss Granger, would it be too much to ask if you could eat a little less squeally?" Severus asked, sneaking up behind them. Just because they were "dating" didn't mean he could favor her or show his affection in public. He really wanted to sit down beside her and comfort her anger episode. She would be having a full day of classes, then tutoring Draco after dinner. Her anger was really going to get boiling fast.

"Well, Professor, perhaps if you went to your table and there instead of spying on my conversations, then you wouldn't hear my squeally eating habits," She hissed at him, turning her back to him.

Harry slid away from Hermione, knowing where this was going. Her wand arm was twitching, and he knew all too well that she was very good at spells. Ginny, although she didn't move away, looked slightly worried. Severus on the other hand, was neither scared, nor worried, about himself at least. "5 point from Gryffindor for that remark, Miss Granger," he said coldly. Please shush, Love. Please, he begged in his mind.

"Five points for making a smart suggestion that you stop interfering in my personal conversations? How stupid," she remarked, getting even angrier. Her blood had boiled over seeing Malfoy sneer at her. How rude of him. As if she still wasn't important enough to be within talking distance of him.

"Detention, Granger, tonight at seven, and twenty points from Gryffindor," he responded, hotly and walked away. At least the detention would give her a day to procrastinate tutoring Draco. She'd thank him later for it.

"Severus, you alright?" Remus asked as he sat down in his chair.

At first, Severus thought about not answering. Then, thought better of it. Remus was a friend now. He didn't turn his nose in disgust when the staff had been notified of his "friendship" with Hermione. He'd actually congratulated him on finding someone else. "No, Remus, I'm not alright."

"Want to talk about it?" He asked. Seeing his former enemy turned friend in such an obvious hurtful predicament, Remus cleared his throat. Severus nodded once before getting up and leaving without touching his food. After several minutes, Remus followed himself. Then, he was followed by Narcissa and Dora. They followed Severus to his chambers, where the three stopped at the door. Gryffindor ties and student skirts were laying around, Hermione's books she didn't need today were sacked on the table, and a baby book with a bookmark was open on the couch.

"So, Severus, something you want to tell us?" Dora asked in an amused voice. Severus was glad of this amused tone to her voice. It gave him something to focus on. His own emotions were running wild, he was angry himself. At who, though? Surely not Hermione. He was upset that he had to do that, but people were watching and if he did nothing, they would figure something was going on. In her sane mind, he was sure she would agree.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, he turned to his colleagues. "Hermione and I are seeing each other, and expecting," he said, picking up the baby book and thumbing through it, making sure not to loose Hermione's place.

"Severus, that's great," Narcissa said, walking towards him to give him a hug. However, he stepped back, anger boiling again.

Such a stupid, useless prat, he hissed in his mind. Baffled, he wondered why he would be thinking that. Narcissa wasn't anything like Bellatrix and Lucius. She was actually nice. Thinks he's so perfect. God's gift to humanity. That wasn't about Narcissa. It was most likely about Draco. But why and how was he thinking those things about Draco?

"KEEP YOU HANDS TO YOUR SELF, AND YOU MIGHT KEEP THEM!" Severus shouted as Narcissa placed a hand on his shoulder. Realizing what he had said, he apologized. Leaving in a hurry, to test a theory that had popped up in his head. He went to the Great Hall, and was met by several students gathered around what looked to be a fight.

He cleared his throat and several students moved away from him, granting him access to the inner circle. Hermione was dueling Draco. His face was guarded fright. He'd obviously never met a pregnant woman that was angry and had further angered her. Hermione opened her mouth to say another spell in Draco's direction, but before she could, Severus had disarmed both of them with a nonverbal one. "Fifty points from both of you," he hissed. "Follow me," he muttered loud enough for them to hear.

Not waiting to see if they actually followed, he went to his office and sat at his desk. Draco entered before Hermione, angry himself now. Probably bruised ego. Hermione was angry for obvious reasons. Pregnancy and the fact she has to tutor this git. "I don't want to know how or why this happened," Severus started cooly, handing them back their wands, "nor do I care. This is unacceptable. Mr. Malfoy, you will serve two weeks detention with Filtch, while Granger, you will serve two weeks with me." Hopefully she'd calm down enough and figure out that Severus wasn't actually going to make her finish the detentions. Having a baby would be painful enough without me adding detentions to it.

Severus dismissed them both, yet only Draco went to leave. Hermione was still emitting this furious atmosphere around her. "Severus, you aren't really going to make me follow through with those detentions are you?" she asked in a defeated voice.

"Course not, love," Severus responded, moving to envelop her into a warm hug.

Sighing with relief, Hermione wrapped her arms around Severus' middle and buried her head into his chest. She felt better now. Touching him. It seemed the only thing that calmed her down nowadays. Pregnancy sucks already. But their future baby brought them out of the depressing side of the pregnancy. "Come on, there's something we have to figure out," he muttered into her hair. He lead her to their chambers, where Remus, Dora, and Narcissa were waiting still.

"Hermione, darling, congratulations," Tonks said happily, hugging her tightly. Hermione smiled and let herself be congratulated by the people that loved her most. However, Severus' eyebrows were furrowed in confusion.

"What's wrong Severus?" Remus asked, watching the man.

It was several minutes before Severus actually said anything. When he did, it was directed to Hermione. "Hermione, why were you and Draco dueling?"

"Oh, the bastard tried to seduce me and feel me up," she said simply, sitting down on the couch. Narcissa raised her eyebrows.

"He didn't!" Narcissa said almost not believing it. Hermione only nodded in response. "Wait til I get a hold of him," she muttered more to herself.

"You were angry with him," Severus said blandly.

"Of course, you aren't?" Hermione responded confused.

"Don't get me wrong, I now wish I'd have given him a months detention. However, you told him to keep his hands to himself and he might keep them, right?"

Hermione nodded, even more confused. Tonks and Remus looked between the couple. They were putting together what the couple couldn't seem to really place. Even Narcissa seemed to be understanding it more.

"Oh, Severus, my friend, don't you understand what happened?" Narcissa asked.

"Narcissa, if I knew what happened, I wouldn't be questioning Hermione about it, now would I?" Severus answered coldly. He was still a little angry at Draco for trying to feel up Hermione.

"Course not," Narcissa said. "Its called Soul Understanding, rare magic that happens in these kind of situations. The charm that was placed on the school to keep the girls from getting pregnant is the oldest charm ever. If a previous student comes back after seventh year to continue studies for some reason, the charm does indeed try to latch back on. However, it can't because the student has passed the seven years, so she is not a student in the eyes of the charm. When the charm fails to latch on, a magic sometimes happens if in a certain number of days, I think within a month, if she finds a "match" to her soul, they melt within each others minds. In plain terms, they can read each others minds and feelings and even feel each others thoughts and feelings. It can only happen if both parties are the same "type". Type meaning the same sort of magical power. The more powerful both parties are, the more likely that it has happened. Sometimes, though, they don't realize that they have that, and they go on forever without knowing. Its rare, and should be upraised because if it does happen, then nothing can ever part you. Not even an affair."

"Why can't anything part us if we have Soul Understanding?" Hermione asked.

"Soul Understanding is a magic like your parents, Hermione, rare, and if broken, everything gathered from the time of Soul Understanding to the end, there is a high chance that it would disappear with the magic. So, your child, if the magic broke, which can only happen if the both of you agree and say "Take away the magic", could possibly disappear along with any sort of emotional and physical growth you two have gained," Tonks continued to explain where Narcissa left off.

"So, if I were to get an award for memory regain potions and several others that Severus and I have agreed to, during our Soul Understanding, then if we broke it, it could go away?" Hermione asked once more. The over asking know it all brain that Severus had started to adore so much had taken over. Smiling to himself more, he was pleased to see that she was frightened at the thought of loosing everything they had worked for so far this school year.

"Yes, anything that the two of you did during your Soul Understanding, has a 50/50 chance at disappearing. Its like a bad marriage per-nuptial agreement, in muggle terms," Remus said, remembering an old friend of his from the muggle world telling him about those contracts.

At that, Hermione understood perfectly. While he didn't want to admit it, so did Severus. The pre-nup along with the high gamble chance. It sucked, badly. "What if someone else intervenes with the Understanding? Like a headmaster trying to set up a "date" between students?" Severus asked darkly. He knew that there were many other people that could tutor Malfoy. However, it was because of Hermione's relationship with him, and Minerva's incessant budding in that Hermione was actually tutoring the boy.

"That can sometimes have the same effect as officially breaking the bond," Narcissa said slowly, looking straight at Severus.

Clearing his throat, he stepped forward. "Then, Narcissa, I ask you to do something for me, please."
