Enter Pharaoh, Exit Severus

Enter Pharaoh, Exit Severus

FYI I have never had a baby, so I don't know really what happens.

Two months its been. Two months since Lucius had contact with Severus about Zeus. Two months since anything happened between Severus and Hermione. Sure they still slept in the same chamber, same bed. Nothing kinky though, to Severus' displeasure. Hermione's exam was fast approaching. She hardly had time for their relationship anymore. Severus knew she wanted to do so well, but he had to remind her that if she got stressed, then the baby would get stressed. Mostly though, Severus was worried about Drea. She hadn't contacted Severus either in those two months. It was getting almost ridiculous. He didn't know what to do except wait for a response to his several million letters he's sent over the past two months.

"Severus," Hermione asked one night after they were in bed. Severus and Hermione were cuddling, with him gently rubbing Hermione's back with one hand, and her stomach with the other. Both baby and mummy were getting very still, which was pleasing to him. This last month, Hermione's been tossing and turning so bad that Severus thought of transfiguring the couch to a comfortable bed and sleep on it. Though she'd know Severus was missing from their bed, so that wouldn't work. "When do you think this baby will come out?"

Smiling to himself, eyes half closed he shrugged. "Not sure, the baby could decided to wait the full nine months so it's brain is at Know-it-all size," he teased.

Hermione slapped his chest with a laugh. "Seriously, though, I want to hold this baby, Severus."

He looked down at his girlfriend, having made it official the previous night. "Me too," he said honestly.

"Hermione, when is that child going to be born?" Ginny asked the next morning. She was watching Hermione eat her breakfast as fast as Ron, which made her laugh. The poor girl couldn't help it, being pregnant.

Swallowing her eggs, she gave a halfhearted shrug. "Not sure, neither is Severus. We really want the baby to be born, though."

"Hear that little thing, Mummy and Daddy wants you out!" Harry said to Hermione's stomach, earning a slap from both Ginny and Hermione. "Ow!" Luckily, the school didn't pay attention to Hermione's growing stomach, which was both a relief and saddening. Saddening because no one paid attention to her anymore, relief because no one paid attention to her anymore. It was hard to comprehend.

Ron and Padma were down a few seats, engrossed in talking passionately. Hermione, catching sight of the two of them laughing, suddenly got angry. Why did Ron have to cheat on me? She thought bitterly. Then immediately went into an 'I don't care' act. She had Severus, a baby, so why bother over something that is history?

"You know if he's planning on popping the question anytime soon?" Ginny asked with a sly grin. Her ring shining in the light. Harry had popped the question a few weeks ago, which Ginny burst into happy tears. He was quite scared that Ginny would refuse until she jumped on him chanting 'Yes' at the top of her lungs. "Be nice if we could have a double wedding. I'd love to see Mr. Black Frock wearing a bright purple tie." she laughed.

Hermione laughed as well. She'd love to see that too. However, knowing Severus, he's slyly change the color of his tie to match his soul. Black...or right now a very dark brown or gray. Today was the last day of classes until the first of next Semester. Hermione's test was tomorrow, making her more nervous than actually the thought of giving birth. The rest of the school, minus the staff and the four Gryffindor's, thought that Hermione was doing another "Know-It-All" thing and graduating early to start her career. If only they knew.

The three friends made their way to the dungeons where their class was headed. Hermione sat with Draco, who had suspicions of his own. They didn't talk at all, but Hermione was thankful that he didn't seem repulsed by her anymore. Maybe the war was a little better than she'd thought. It wasn't just stupidity. The pain started when Severus entered in his usual way, billowing robes, stern expression, and a slamming door. The seventh years were used to this, but still jumped every time. It seemed that jump had hurt Hermione's back.

She winced a little as the pain subsided in her back. Sighing, she ignored a questioned glare from Draco, and listened to Severus talk about what was going to happen in this last class. Nothing new, just a free day for them. It shocked most of them, but they were happy to have a free day to study anything and catch up on work. Harry was using this free day as Hermione expected many of the students were, to catch up on work. It seemed that even being off the Quidditch team and with no Voldemort to worry about, he still got behind.

After two more shooting pains, each worse than the last, she finally had enough. She held up her hand, gritting her teeth. Severus didn't look up from his work, so sadly, Hermione had to get up and go to him. Putting on a brave face, she walked up to his desk, her back hurting with each step. Once she reached his desk, he looked up, surprised. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "What could you possibly want, Miss Granger?"

"Please, sir, I'm having some pains," She hinted, thinking of only one thing it could be. "Could I go to the Hospital Wing please?" Another pain shot through her back, making her groan lowly, biting her lower lip. Severus' eyes widened a little, but quickly went back to his sneer.

He waved a hand at her. "Yes, yes, get going."

Hermione nodded, standing up straight. She was two feet from the door when she cried out in pain and collapsed on the floor. Severus was beside her in an instant. He knew all too well what was happening. "Class dismissed," he said roughly, picking up Hermione and practically running towards Dumbledore's office.

"Severus, what is the meaning of this?" Albus asked in a slightly harsh and confused voice.

What does it look like old man?! My girlfriend is having a baby! "Hermione's in labor," he decided to say.

Albus quickly threw a pinch of flew power into the fire and called, "St. Mungo's Maternity Ward." In a flash, Severus and Hermione were wooshing through fireplaces until their, or Severus', feet landed on solid ground.

"Quickly, she's in labor," Severus called to a witch at the end of the hall. The witch was in scrubs already, which pleased Severus, who didn't want to waste any time.

She ran over and waved her wand once. A wheelchair was beside her in a flash. "Are you the father?" She asked, wheeling Hermione down to a room.

Severus raised an eye angrily. However, it was Hermione who answered. "OF COURSE HE'S THE FATHER YOU IMBECILE! WHAT DO YOU TAKE ME FOR? A SLUT?"

The witch took no notice of the harsh words, but merely nodded at the answer. Her curly blond hair was falling out of her cap, and her her brown eyes were overly stimulated, meaning she was stressed. However, she maintained a clear head and ignored the shouting. She was probably used to it. They wheeled Hermione into the, what Severus assumed to be, the delivery room. It had everything that a delivery was supposed to have, at least by muggle thoughts. There were some things that Severus didn't know what they were, and he suspected it to be magical, since all he knew of births were muggle.

After several hours of screaming, and another half hour of Severus getting the feeling back in his hands, their baby was here. Hermione was crying with happiness, and Severus was smiling the most honest smile he's ever given in public. The baby was Severus all over. From the grimace he gave to mommy when she took her nipple away from him to the sneeze. It was Severus all over again. This time, though, the baby had Hermione's eyes. Yes, life was going to be really good now. Severus had a girlfriend, a son he could claim, and a baby.

"Pharaoh, darling, please sleep," Hermione begged, rocking her son gently. Severus was in his chair, eyes drooping the more Hermione sang that song. The song her dad sung to her as a baby. It wasn't helping the matter. Pharaoh was determine to kill his parents sleeping patterns.

It had been two weeks since they brought Pharaoh home. It seemed that Hermione was the only one that was worried that with the baby coming on the eve of her test, that they'd have to put it off. They didn't, though. The delivery went well, and she went home the morning after. That same afternoon, she insisted on taking the exam, which Minerva was only too happy to give her. Her test results wouldn't be ready until the summer, which was fine by Hermione. She highly suspected she passed, but didn't have time to worry on the things she missed. Her son was wearing her out too much to waste energy on worrying about something that was passed.

Up until tonight, Pharaoh slept all night. However, tonight was the night that the Snape gene decided to kick in. He refused to sleep, which kept kicking his parents sleep time back the longer he was awake. Wide awake. Severus was halfway tempted to tell Hermione to start talking about Runes to their son, maybe that would make him sleep. However, he not only wanted to sleep, he wanted to sleep in his bed. Not to mention, it would probably make him sleep before his son.

Harry had come to see his brother every day, brought him gifts to the point where Severus all but ordered him to stop. He did, eventually. Needless to say they had enough toys for a whole Quidditch team of children. Harry still wasn't able to call Severus 'dad', but Severus didn't really mind. The thought that Harry knew who his real father was satisfied Severus. Also, he suspected that Harry would change that when Pharaoh started talking. Though, he knew that if Hermione and he got married, Harry'd never call Hermione "mum". He'd rather eat Hagrid's rock cakes than to call his best friend mum. Though, Severus smirked at the thought every time.

"Love, I don't think its any use. Might I suggest a silencing charm on our little one?" Severus suggested halfheartedly. He was half serious. He wanted to sleep, badly.

"Severus, I'm not putting a silencing charm on our son!" she said lightly. Her eyes gleamed as she continuously sang the song. Severus didn't know the words, she was just humming. Though, he knew it was soothing, since he was getting sleepy too.

Groaning, Severus laid his head back and closed his eyes, praying for his son to stop crying. "Severus," a voice called.

Raising his head, Severus found a tabby cat paronus in front of him. Minerva's voice came through. "Severus, the head boy has been admitted to the Hospital wing for odd seizures. I need you to take over his night shift for tonight please. Potter is out patrolling as well, so you will meet up with him at the Great Hall entrance after the rounds are over."

Severus sneered at the disappearing cat and grunted. "Well, it seems I have to go, love." He got up and transfigured his pajamas into his suit. He didn't feel like actually changing. As he kissed Hermione and Pharaoh good night, he sighed heavily. He was supposed to be in bed already tonight.

Harry was waiting by the time that Severus got up to the Great Hall. He smiled at the sight of his father. Though he knew he'd most likely never call him dad, but he was happy that he still had a parent that cared. "Hey, Pharaoh sleeping?" Harry asked casually, his hands in his pockets.

Sighing again, Severus shook his head. "Not tonight, the Snape gene decided to take over his sleeping pattern," Severus responded. They set off to do the rounds, starting in the dungeon. "First time he's decided not to sleep. He's crying his eyes out instead."

"Sorry, wish I could help, but I don't think he'd do any better with me," Harry said, checking in one of the unused classrooms.

Grunting, Severus agreed. "I suggested that we use a silencing charm, but Hermione shot me down," Severus mentioned lightly, making Harry laugh.

"You actually thought your suggestion would make it past her?" he asked with surprise.

Severus shook his head, "Not really, but it was worth a try."

That made Harry laugh even more, making Severus smile. Anyone who passed the two at the moment would freeze in shock. Not only was Severus smiling, but he and Harry were laughing together, sharing a deep moment together. No one knew that Severus and Harry were father and son, per Harry's request. Not that it mattered to Severus, either. After all, Severus had an image to keep up, or drag down, one or the other.

There was no one out in the dungeons, so they made their way back up to the Great Hall entrance. Suddenly, out of the shadows, a body swooped out and sent a silent spell towards the pair. Severus flung Harry aside, taking full force the spell. Severus crumpled to the floor, knocked out cold. Harry watched as a man with a Death Eater mask came out of the shadows of the front door. He scrambled to get up, but was flung against the wall, hard. As the man levitated an unconscious Severus, he walked passed Harry, who was trying to get up. It wasn't easy, since he had broken a leg.

"GET BACK HERE!" Harry shouted, sending his stag to Minerva, who, in just moments, showed up with a crack next to Albus. Instead of trying to get up on his feet, Harry had decided to crawl to the door where the Death Eater was disappearing with his father.

The Death Eater laughed as he turned to face them. "Say good-bye to your Potions Master, boy!" He said in a deep, rough voice. The voice sent shivers down Harry's spine as the man whipped his cloak around his body and dissolved into smoke.

Harry watched in horror as the man disappeared with his father. Without thinking, Harry called out after them, "DAD!!!!" They were already gone, though. It was useless. In anger, Harry shouted and pounded his fist on the ground.

"Mr. Potter, did you just call Severus...dad?" Minerva asked.

Scoffing angrily, Harry tried to get up again. He failed and fell back on the ground. "A Death Eater just kidnapped a teacher and flew off with him and you ask about me calling Snape 'dad'?" Ha asked in the same sneering voice as Severus himself. It seemed that the Snape in him comes out when he's angry.

Albus raised an eyebrow, obviously catching the similarities between the two men's questioning methods. Minerva didn't catch it, however. "Mr. Potter, please lower your tone and answer my question," she responded, getting her stern voice out.

Chuckling, Albus stepped forward between the two. "My dear Minerva, I believe that Harry, here, has already answered your question."

Minerva looked at Albus questioningly. However, Harry was the one who responded. "I'm surrounded by helpless dunderheads. Could one of you heal my leg so I can go get Snape please? The quicker the better."

Gritting her teeth, Minerva finally understood. Only Severus could make her that annoyed in a nice way. "Mr. Potter, come with me."

"I'd love to, Professor, but unfortunately, my leg prevents me from doing so," Harry said in an annoyed tone, though his face had a sweet smile to it.

Quickly healing Harry's leg, then pulling him up with fairly strong arms, Albus smiled largely. He shoved Harry a little, towards Minerva, who was heading inside. All Harry wanted to do was go get his father, but a glance back at Albus, made him turn back around. It was all too soon that Harry and Minerva were back in her office. "Now, Potter, explain your relationship with Severus," she ordered, sitting in her chair.

Harry gave a heavy sigh. "He's my dad, Professor. Severus Snape is my father."

Minerva gave a lighthearted, unbelievable, scoff. "Now, Mr. Potter, don't be ridiculous. James Potter is your father."

Harry shook his head. "No, not really. My mum slept with Severus the morning of her wedding. Then a few weeks later, she found out she was pregnant. She begged Severus to keep it secret, which he did. Until Hermione started dating him. Then she started realizing some similarities between the two of us and Severus came clean. If you don't believe it, then have Madam Pomfrey run a test on Pharaoh and me. We'll be half siblings."

It was quiet for some time. Minerva was trying to decide if she should or not. Call Poppy into this? She'd go mad with worry and shock. If it got out, then what would happen to Harry or Severus? Would everyone laugh at them? "No, I believe you, Potter. Now we have to find him, though."

"Professor, he spoke. Said for me to 'Say good-bye to your Potions Master'. It sounded a little like Lucius Malfoy," Harry said softly.

Minerva gave a small scoff. "Harry, we can't start poking fingers before we have some facts. I'll let the Aurors know and you can tell Hermione. Then, go get some sleep. You need it."

Harry didn't want to go to sleep. He wanted to find he dad. Who would risk getting killed trying to kidnap Severus? More importantly, who knew him well enough to know his weaknesses?
