Two weeks have passed and the city was still coated in a blanket of white and currently the streets were too icy to drive on. So even though it was meant to be a school day it was canceled for the day. Right now Hannah and her friends were currently at Iris's place practicing their magic. While Charlie was in the driveway shoveling the snow out of the way. His hands were ice cold and the freezing air was cutting right through all the layers he was wearing.

"Ugh, this is so tiring!" Charlie groaned as he stopped for a moment to rest.

He let go of the shovel he was using, however he didnt hear it clatter onto the ground. Instead he just kept hearing the sound of snow crunching and moving, along with the shovel still scraping against the ground. He looked and saw a red magic aura around it, and it was moving on its own.

"W-What?! How is it?!" Charlie asked himself but he looked at his hands and saw the same red aura around them.

"Ah! No!" Charlie cried out as he slapped his hand and the magic stopped. The magic on the shovel disappeared and it fell onto the ground, Charlie let out a sigh of relief upon seeing that.

"Phew, that was close... ugh ever since I casted that lock spell to keep that thing away from my daughter my magic has been boiling back up. It keeps activating on its own even when I don't want it to work. I need to use it, even if I don't want my family to see it, all I gotta do is keep it out of their sight," Charlie told himself.

So he looked at the snow on the ground and decided to use his magic on it. Looking around he didn't see anyone on the streets, that was a good sight for him as it meant he won't be seen using his magic. With a single swop of his hand red magic aura appeared on the snow that was on the driveway, it then floated up, and was thrown to the sides of the driveway. Now the driveway was completely clear of snow, and all Charlie had to do now was cover it with salt and he'd be good to go back inside.

"Hmm, it wouldn't hurt to use magic on the salt to... Sharolet is in the bathroom right now so she won't see me," Charlie reassured himself.

Once again Charlie used his magic, but this time it was on the bag of salt and he threw it all over the driveway. Now finished with the driveway, Charlie went back inside the house to warm up. He first took off his hat but he saw something in the mirror in the corner of his eye. He shot his head towards the mirror and saw that his hair had now partly turned red from the roots up.

"Oh crap! Oh crap! Oh Crap! Okay calm down Charlie, this is just temporary, I just need to hide it till it goes away," Charlie told himself.

He then puts his hand back on to hide the red in his hair till he can get it to go away. "Ugh, I hope my two oldest are alright," Charlie said as his mind went to his kids.

Meanwhile at Iris's place, The Squads and Daniel were practicing more spells from the book they had taken from the secret library in their school. Most of the Royal children had returned, aside from Oberon who didn't want to return just yet due to the weather.

Daniel was currently trying to summon his weapon, but was struggling to do so. While he knew it was because he didn't have contact with a magical artifact like his little sister and her friends. However it still frustrated him whenever he failed to make his magic do what he wanted it to do. He looked at Rowdy who was sitting on a seat in the kitchen as they were inside. Rowdy looked at him, smiled and waved, which made Daniel blush bright red and looked away from him.

'Come on Daniel! Get yourself together!' Daniel told himself and tried again.

Ed looked over and saw Daniel struggling to use his magic. He felt bad for the guy so he decided to give him some encouragement. "Hey Dan! I know you can do it! It might be hard but no one ever said that everything was easy," Ed said.

"Oh thanks... but um it's not just the magic I'm frustrated about," Daniel confessed while scratching the back of his head.

When he heard that he got confused, Ed didn't know what else Daniel could be frustrated about. He then noticed that Daniel seemed to be passing a glance at Rowdy. Seeing that Ed was immediately able to understand what was possibly going on with him.

"Hey Dan can I ask you something?" Ed asked.

"Um sure?" Daniel said, confused.

Ed then walked up to Daniel and whispered "Do you like Rowdy?"

"Um... W-What makes you say that?" Daniel asked with his face all flushed up.

"I had a feeling; now I know that feeling the boys got when I was trying to confess to Jenny," Ed said.

"How can I even tell him? I don't even know if he's into guys," Daniel explained expressing his concerns regarding his boy crush.

"Well try to find out in a natural way. I can't think of any right now but I'll try to help you out in this matter," Ed explained. Daniel smiled at that, happy to hear that Ed was willing to help him through his crush and find out if Rowdy was into guys or not.

"Um excuse me, but um, what are you two talking about?" the two heard Paris ask. The boys looked and saw them standing just a foot away from them with a nervous expression on their face.

"Oh nothing Paris, I was just giving Daniel some advice regarding his use of magic," Ed explained.

"Really? Well could I try to help? I wanna try and get to know the feeling when I help a friend in need," Paris explained.

"Sure, and you know I think there's something else you could help us with Paris," Ed explained.

"Um there is?" Daniel asked nervously.

"Yeah, trust me Dan, with me helping you and Paris giving us an extra hand then I'm certain we can give you a hand with your current love problem and they can experience the warmth you get when you help someone out," Ed explained.

"Well if you say so, alright Paris! Follow me and Ed inside. I kinda don't want to speak about this in front of everyone just yet," Daniel said.

"Alright! Let's go. I wanna know what's going on and see if I can help in any way possible," Pairs said. The three then walked inside to discuss the current situation that Daniel was in at the moment.

Meanwhile in the shadow realm, Lucifer was in the throne room when he felt something strange. He sat up on his throne and took a moment to figure out what the strange feeling was coming from.

"What in the world is going on? What is this strange feeling coming over me... wait, it's... a human on earth has used magic and... UGH! It's from a heart of love! Disgusting! But who is it? It's not that Daniel boy I've heard about from my minions as he just started learning magic. There's no way to become strong enough to suddenly cause a surge of magical energy like this to me and other Royals... not unless they have blood relation to Royals themselves. Craindre! Come at once!" Lucifer called out.

Craindre and their host immediately appeared out from a pink haze of smoke, bowing down to their king. "Your majesty, what do you call upon us for?" Craindre asked.

"I felt a surge of powerful magic and it came from earth. However such a thing isn't possible as humans had not used magic on earth for centuries. Not unless they had come from either our world or the other one," Lucifer explained.

"Ohh, but you've collected all the little gremlins who were living on earth away from that dead kingdom. And even then none of them could be powerful enough to send out a serge of magical energy like that to a royal such as yourself. Not unless they're a royal themselves, or at least related to the royal family," Craindre explained.

"I'm aware! So I want you to go down to earth and find out who it is, and report to me as soon as you find out," Lucifer explained as he leaned back in his chair.

"Understood my king. Come my host, let's go to earth," Craindre said.

"Hehe let's shall," The host said with a smirk on their face. The two left for earth to complete their mission and to hopefully, in their case, restore Lucifer's faith in them after the disaster that unfolded on Christmas eve.

Back on earth, Paris, Ed, and Daniel were discussing Daniel's love interest in Rowdy. "Okay so I'm just saying this so I'm sure I have everything down. You wanna try and confess to Rowdy that you have a crush on him?" Paris asked.

"Yeah, that's true I do want to do that," Daniel confirmed.

"But you're afraid to do so as you don't know if he feels the same way, or if he's even interested in guys?" Paris asked again.

"Yes I'm afraid of that as that's how it mostly is with same gender crushes," Daniel explained while poking his fingers together.

"Hmm, so we need to find a way to ask Rowdy about his interest when it comes to love," Paris asked Ed this time.

"Yes but it has to be in a way where he won't think we're asking because one of us has a crush on him. That's often the way it gets all screwed up, so we need to find some way to make it more casual," Ed explained.

Paris rubbed their chin and hummed for a bit, trying to think of some way to help out. Then an idea came to their head and they hoped it would work. "Hey, why don't we have Rowdy take one of those sexuality tests? I saw Marry doing one of them on Iris's laptop once," Paris explained.

"Um, online tests often aren't accurate so I don't think that'll be helpful," Daniel explained bluntly.

"Aww," Paris whined as their idea got shot down.

"Hey it was a good try in Paris, so don't be too disappointed," Ed reassured while patting Paris on the back.

"Thanks, but I wish that I could come up with better ideas," Paris said.

"We'll come up with a good idea, we just gotta keep thinking of some," Ed explained.

"Hey um guys, I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Iris suddenly asked as she poked her head into the room.

"Huh, Oh no you're not Iris, what's up?" Ed asked.

"Well, Apollo is going to have a meeting with the Celestial and Elemental spirits so he wants everyone to go home," Iris explained.

"What? Why do we have to go home?" Daniel asked.

"Well he said it's a private meeting that he doesn't want us to hear just yet. However when we're all ready then we can join in the meeting," Iris explained.

"Huh? What do you even mean by that Iris?" Paris asked, confused.

"Well when I'm Queen and when everyone in the Rainbow Squads have finally become fully fledged Rainbow Squads. Once that happens then we'll be allowed to join in the meetings with him and the Spirits," Iris explained.

"Well where are you going during this meeting Iris?" Ed asked.

"I'll be heading out with my uncle Smith and Marry to catch up with them... if only Light could join us." Iris said while looking down sadly.

Ed and Daniel looked at her with sympathy as she thought about Light. Paris tried to be sympathetic as well but they had a hard time both feeling and understanding it, as they've never been in love before. That and they were still trying to feel emotions for more than just a brief second, as for them while it was progress they wanted to feel for much longer.

"Well since we're leaving is it um... alright if the Royal children come with us?" Daniel nervously asked.

"Sure, they were going to go for a walk, but I'm sure they'd like to spend some time with you all!" Iris exclaimed.

Daniel smiled and internally prayed that he could try to figure out Rowdy's interests when it comes to romance and who he's attracted to. So everyone gathered up their stuff before leaving, that way Apollo could have this meeting of his in peace. As soon as the house was empty aside from him Apollo took on his human form so the spirits wouldn't have to strain their necks just to look at him in his peacock form. A few minutes later the spirits all showed up and Apollo greeted them with a bow and kind smile.

"Ah, welcome mighty spirits. It's been quite a while since we've had a meeting with all of you," Apollo said.

"Yes it has been, but for Important reasons we hoped you're aware or had felt Apollo," Sunblaze said.

"Yes I did sense something within the flow of magic," Apollo confirmed.

"It was quite strange," Aquamarine said as she began to pace around the house.

"Very strange indeed sister, the sudden jolt of energy used on earth by a heart of love in two years? Before this war with the Kingdom of Negativity had begun it wouldn't be anything we'd notice that much," Air Breeze explained.

"Yes, that's mainly because the only source of magic that's on earth in the modern day would be from either ourselves, or the people of Your kingdom Apollo," Fireblaze pointed out.

"I'm aware, so why would a human on earth suddenly use magic and why did it cause that jolt? It couldn't have been Daniel as he's still not fully able to control his own that well yet. He's only been able to properly harness it on impulse such as in times of need," Apollo explained.

"And because of how early he's started learning magic he's nowhere near strong enough to be capable of causing the jolt we all felt," Groundpound explained.

"Hmm, we should try and figure out who it was, but we need to act quick," Moonstone explained.

"I agree, if we all had felt the jolt then most likely Lucifer had felt it as well and sent out a shout to find its source," Earthbound said.

Apollo and the spirits all shivered at that statement, they all knew it was most likely true and while none of them knew who he would send out, they had a feeling it wasn't something nice at all.

Meanwhile with Ed, Daniel, Paris, and Rowdy, the four were walking through the city looking around at the pure white snow that blanketed the buildings and trees. The sky gray of clouds still showering the city with more and more snow.

"Wow, earth's weather is so beautiful," Paris said as they admired the snow.

"Yeah it is, hey Paris what kind of weather did you all have back in your world?" Daniel asked.

"Well we had Acid Rain, toxic fog, and instead of snow we kinda had huge heavy black hail storms, the hail was the worst as it would destroy buildings constantly," Paris explained.

"Yesh, feels like a good excuse to move to earth huh?" Ed asked jokingly.

"Hehe, yeah, that and a variety of other reasons. And I think I feel glad that I came here? I'm not sure yet," Paris said.

Rowdy then ran in front of them before facing them and beginning to sign something. "Ed what's he saying?" Daniel asked.

"He's saying "I also like the weather here, it's really nice. My world has lots of wacky but fun weather. However it is nice to enjoy something calming so earth's weather is great to relax in. But I'm kinda getting cold, you all wanna go inside and warm up before we continue on?" Ed translated.

"Oh um, sure, there's a hot coco place not too far away that we can warp up and enjoy a drink in," Daniel explained.

"I know that place! It's called Warmth of the Soul, they sell all kinds of delicious warm drinks, even some cold ones during the summer months," Ed explained.

"Well let's go! Even if I don't need to drink, I still wanna taste some of earth's drinks," Paris explained.

"Alright follow me!" Ed exclaimed excitedly.

Later the four were in the Warmth of the Soul place enjoying some delicious warm drinks. Daniel had a regular hot cocoa with Marshmallow, Ed was having a ube hot chocolate that was full of flavor and texture, Paris was enjoying some apple cider after drinking a full cup of coco, finally Rowdy was having a peppermint hot chocolate. As they sat there enjoying their cups Daniel looked over to Rowdy. He couldn't help but admire the tiny droplets of melted snow on him and how he sipped at his drink. It just made him that more attractive to him. Daniel internally groaned as he wanted so badly to tell Rowdy how he felt, but was so afraid to. However he knew that he wouldn't be able to hold back forever.

"Rowdy! There's something I um, that I've wanted to tell you for a while now!" Daniel blurted out.

Rowdy gave him a curious look, wondering what Daniel had to say to him. Unfortunately when Daniel opened his mouth he wasn't able to say anything he was interrupted when people started screaming from outside and running into the place. The four ran outside to see what was going on that made everyone run and screaming in panic. When they got outside they saw Craindre laughing maniacally as they spread fear by transforming random items on the streets into horrific creatures.

"Oh Come on! We were having such a relaxing day and this son of a gun has to come in and ruin it!" Daniel exclaimed angrily.

"Don't worry I'll take care of them! Daniel contact Hannah and let her know that we need her and the rest of the squads!" Ed exclaimed.

"Alright! And you sure you can hold up against the on your own?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah don't worry I'll be fine!" Ed declared and ran off to a nearby alleyway.

Daniel had a bad feeling in his gut but shrugged it off and quickly went to call his sister to inform her about this. After Ed transformed he ran back out to the streets and called out to Craindre.

"HEY PINKIE!" Ed called out.

Craindre looked down and smiled once they saw Ed standing below them, with such bravery and confidence they were sure to destroy in an instant. "Oh why hello! Orange it's been a while hasn't it? The last time I saw you was Halloween. Of course you didn't see me and just saw my little minions but still," Craindre said.

"Cut the crap! What are you doing here?" Ed asked in a demanding voice.

"Oh well I would tell you, but unfortunately that'd be so less entertaining!" Craindre explained.

"Well whatever you're planning I won't let you get away with it!" Ed declared. "We'll see about that! Minions Attack!" Craindre commanded.

The minions obeyed and charged right at Ed, who jumped back as they tried to attack. He then used his light of encouragement which caused the pink minions to incinerate because of the positivity in the light. Craindre growled when they saw Ed destroy their creations; they were determined to finish the job they had been given, and destroy one of the Rainbow Squads along the way.

Craindre dropped down and formed a scythe and charged at Ed with the intent to attack him with sheer force. Ed saw the attack and using the training he'd reacted quickly, grabbing onto the weapon and effortlessly stopping the attack. However his tight grip on the sharp blade did cause his hands to get slightly cut, but he ignored the pain and swung Craindre in the air before slamming them into the ground. They cried out in pain and suddenly started coming off from their host as a result of losing focus. When Ed saw this he was shocked to see who Craindre's new host was, as it was Jake's friend who he noticed had disappeared. It was Clare who also groaned in slight pain from the impact of being thrown around.

"OH MY GOD! CLARE! ARE YOU ALRIGHT UGH!" Ed screamed in concern but it turned to pain as he was suddenly punched in the face. Clare got up and looked at him as he recovered from her attack.

"Clare! Don't worry I'm gonna get that parasite off of you!" Ed declared as he looked at her.

"Why would I want that? Craindre here has given me amazing powers! And they promised me that I can get everything I want if I work for them!" Clare explained sinisterly.

"W-What?" Ed asked, confused and shocked.

Craindre took advantage of this and formed a spear with their tongue and aimed it right at Ed's chest. They shot the spear right at Ed intending to take his heart and feed on it. Instantly a red shield was put in front of Ed resulting in the spear being impaled in the shield which also cracked it lightly. When Craindre saw that they grew angrier and looked to see where the shield came from. They saw Daniel, Rowdy, and Paris standing in battle stances with determined looks on their faces.

"Oh well look who it is. The traitorous shadow shifter, the troll prince, and the coward who's scared to confess to his crush," Craindre mocked.

Rowdy got confused at that last statement as he didn't understand why Craindre would give a title like that to Daniel. "Um Why would you say that?" Daniel asked, nervous by what Craindre had said.

"Oh you know what I mean, after all you do like someone here but you're unable to confess it to him. Oh but based on your memories I can see that you need encouragement to confess? HA! How weak do you have to be to not even do something so simple yourself?" Craindre asked mockingly.

The words they spat felt like knives stabbing Daniel's heart as he side glanced Rowdy for a split second. Ed then ran in front of them and stood firm while glaring them down with anger plastered all over his face.

"Craindre shut up! You don't know anything about how love or encouragement works!" Ed declared.

"Oh I do, needing encouragement is stupid. After a while, why even try to do something if you need someone to constantly tell you to do it? It's a waste of time and energy if they can't do it themselves then why even bother to say they can in the first palace?" Craindre questioned.

"Because sometimes you need help and a reminder that you can do it! After all, confessing your feelings to someone you love is one of the most challenging things you'll ever do! I had the same problem when I was trying to confess to Jenny, but in the end I needed encouragement it was given to me by my friends! You might think it's a waist but it's not! After all without encouragement many greats in history wouldn't have done anything they are remembered for without encouragement!" Ed declared as he started glowing orange.

"OH please! That's nonsense that's in the past! Encouragement is just a waist why even defend it?" Craindre asked.

"Because it allows anyone to give it their all when they are unsure they can! A-And I think it's about time that I use the encouragement that Ed have given me to finally say what I've been feeling all this time!" Daniel declared.

"Ugh! Shut up about it!" Craindre screamed before they tried to attack. However Ed uses his strength to block the attack thus keeping Craindre from stopping Daniel.

"Rowdy! I-I've wanted to say this for a while now so I'm gonna say it now! I-I... I really like you! And not as a friend but as in like you like you! I was scared to say it as I wasn't sure if you felt the same! But I can't ignore my heart anymore!" Daniel exclaimed finally letting go of the words he held in for so long.

After he confessed Rowdy's eyes widened and he blushed upon hearing that Daniel had feelings for him. However before he could respond Craindre quickly reformed around Clare and turned their other arm into a mallet. They swiftly slammed the mallet down into the ground intending on crushing the two boys. Ed and Paris stood in shock by what they saw as the dust that had risen up from the impact clouded their sight of Rowdy and Daniel.

Taking advantage of this Craindre formed tentacles out of their back and used them to grab onto the two. When Ed felt the tentacles wrap around him he tried to react but he wasn't fast enough. Paris meanwhile was so freaked out that they couldn't focus on changing their form, thus preventing them from being able to escape.

"Haha! Oh now this will be a good day! After I destroy you two and find the source of a magical place I'll redeem myself to king Lucifer!" Craindre declared.

"Not on our watch!" Craindre heard a voice call out. They looked and saw that the remainder of the Rainbow Squads had shown up.

"Haha! I wouldn't move if I were any of you! Not Unless you want me to harm your friends here," Craindre explained while showing them Ed and Paris.

"Oh no! Not our friends!" Josh exclaimed.

"If you hurt them I'll tear you apart!" Jane promised angrily.

Craindre just smiled, but did not notice the ground behind them started to crack. The cracks soon became bigger and a hole was instantly formed. Two figures then jumped out of the hole and when Craindre looked back to see they instantly had their tentacles sliced off. Thus allowing Ed and Paris to be free, and Ed took his stance glaring at Craindre with fury.

"I'm not going to allow you to hurt my friends! They give me the courage to do what I put my mind to! They encourage me to give my all! And I won't allow you to take them or anyone I love away from me!" Ed declared as his amulet glowed bright orange and a pair of angel wings formed on his back.

When Craindre saw this they roared in anger as it meant Ed had leveled up in magic. They tried to go in for an attack, but Ed used his new magic to form an orange cosmo flower and blasted Craindre. They were sent flying away once the blast made contact with them; Ed took a breather after he blasted Craindre away. After the breather he looked to see Daniel and Rowdy standing right where the hole used to be as now it was gone.

"Daniel! Rowdy! You're both okay!" Ed exclaimed full of relief to see his friends alright.

"Yeah, thankfully for us Rowdy had his gauntlets on and was able to use their magic to quickly dig a hole for us. He then used them to make a tunnel and from the looks of it even repaired it," Daniel explained as he saw the hole was gone now.

"Impressive work," Erick stated.

"Yeah! Oh I wish that our parents didn't take our animal guides to the animal shelter party. They would've been impressed by all this!" Jenny exclaimed, disappointed that their animal guides couldn't see this.

"Hey I'm sure they'll be impressed when we explain it to them," Jake explained.

"Well I hope so, as I really want to see how Amanda will react when she learns that I got my ax out at will again!" Daniel exclaimed.

"Really? That's awesome bro!" Hannah exclaimed proud of her brother and how he's coming along with his magic.

Daniel smiled for a bit, he then felt a light tap on his shoulder, he looked and saw Rowdy was signing something. "Ed what's he saying?" Daniel asked, confused.

"He says "Daniel I'm also impressed with how far you've come so far with your magic. And I couldn't say this before but I also like you as well. Would you go out with me?" Ed translated.

When Daniel heard that he blushed and said, "R-Really? Sure! I'd love to!" After getting his answer Rowdy smiled and hugged Daniel tightly, who returned the hug back. The Squads all smiled at this and Lila even began to cry upon seeing the display of gay love. She felt proud to see others express their love for those of the same gender.

Meanwhile in the shadows Charlie was hiding in an alleyway as he had gone out for a walk. He'd seen the whole fight and wanted to get involved when he saw that thing try to harm his son. However his fear held him back as he feared using his magic and then having to explain everything to his children.

"Ugh, Charlie! What am I doing? I can't avoid using my magic! It's a part of me and my family-" Charlie was saying til he saw something out of the corner of his eye.

When he looked up he saw that creature Craindre walking up to Hannah as her back was turned towards them. Their hand was formed into a sharp blade and Charlie knew immediately what it wanted to do to his precious little girl. Craindre got right up behind Hannah and that was when Josh noticed it and screamed out in fear while pointing at them. Hannah whipped around and saw them about to go in for the attack. She screamed and tried shielding herself from the impact by putting her arms in front of her face. However instead of being attacked she heard a blast and Craindre screaming in pain. When she opened her eyes she saw that Craindre had some red fire on their shoulder. She looked and was shocked to see her dad standing not too far away from them, his hands glowing bright red and his brown hair turning red as well.

"Ugh!... wait, YOU! You're the one who cause that magical disturbance Lucifer had felt earlier!" Craindre exclaimed.

"Get away from my Daughter!" Charlie screamed as he used his magic again, this time creating a lasso that he threw at Craindre. He threw them over himself and then to the ground, successfully getting them away from his daughter.

"Ugh! I can see you're quite strong! But you also haven't used your magic in quite some time based on how much power has gone into some pretty simple spells! Oh ho this will be fun!" Craindre declared as they teleported away.

Charlie sighed in relief as both Craindre was gone and now that he had used a good amount of magic so now it would stop coming up for now.

"Dad?" Charlie heard his daughter say in a confused tone.

He looked back and saw his kids, and their friends all staring at him in shock. Charlie felt dread run up his spine as he knew that he'd have to explain everything to them. He had hope he'd never have to ever awaken the ghosts of his past, especially the reason as to why he'd stop using magic in the first place.
