Chapter 12 The Rainbow Ninjas
In the portal Hannah had black out for a moment but when her mind and body caught up with her she remembered what was going on. She was inside the space between dimensions, the space itself being a mixture of many different colors and had many particles flying around. Hannah has seen this only for a brief period of time when she went through portals with her friends. So she didn't understand why she was still in this space as travel between dimensions was so quick it often couldn't be seen.
However she had the feeling come back into her hands and she could feel some cloth on her hands. Hannah looked down and saw that she still had a strong grip on Adrienne who was still slightly unconscious from the shock the portal gave off. She instantly remembered what Adrienne had done to Paris and all the rage came flooding back into her at that moment. She violently shook Adrienne as hard as she could trying to get her to come back to her senses so she could beat the absolute crud out of her. Adrienne came back to her own senses and once Hannah saw that she instantly raised a fist attempting to punch her friend's killer square in the jaw. Adrienne reacted intime and grabbed Hannah's fist before she could throw the punch. Hannah didn't dare let go of Adrienne's other arm as that would allow her to escape, mainly based on the way Adrienne was holding her fist. Unfortunately Adrienne lifted her legs up and kicked Hannah as hard as she could in the stomach. Hannah yelped in pain and ended up letting go of Adrienne's other arm. She took this opportunity to kick Hannah away from her, she turned around and saw the other portal that will take her to her destination.
Upon seeing this Adrienne smirked and said in a mocking tone "Have fun being trapped in this place! Rainbow Brat!"
Adrienne made her way to the other portal but Hannah wasn't having a single bit of her crud, not after what she did to her friend. So Hannah ran after Adrienne who had already gone through the portal that had slowly started closing. Thankfully Hannah made it through right before the portal had fully closed. As soon as she was through it Hannah saw Adrienne for a brief moment till she fell to the ground. She didn't have the time to react before she ended up slamming her head on the ground knocking herself out. Upon seeing her enemy unconscious Adrienne fled the area to find what she came here for. Hannah meanwhile transformed back to her regular self as she layed on the ground unconscious.
Two figures then walked up to helpless body and saw that she had hit her head on a rock. One of the figures gently lifted her head up and saw that the impact had pierced her skin slightly causing some minor damage. "Cous! I need Something to stop the bleeding!" the figure cried out upon seeing the injury.
"Don't worry I got this!" the other figure said as they pulled out a cloth.
They gently pressed it against the wound before picking Hannah up. "Come-on there's a clinic nearby that can treat her wound, so let's go there ASAP!" the other figure exclaimed.
"Understood! Let's go Cous!" The first figure agreed. The two started racing towards the said clinic with Hannah in their arms.
About an hour had passed and Hannah finally woke up with a splitting headache hitting her the moment her eyes were open. "Ugh! Ow! Why?" Hannah moaned out in pain as she held her head in her hands.
"Oh you're awake, that's good," Hannah heard an adult male voice say.
She looked over and saw a man with a nurses outfit standing right next to the bed she was lying on. "Um, what happened? Where am I?" Hannah asked as she looked around the unfamiliar place.
"You're in the Heart Healthy Clinic, one of many medical facilities here," the nurse explained.
"Oh thanks, w-what happened to me?" Hannah asked as she rubbed her head, feeling a bandage wrapped around her head.
"You fell onto a rock so hard that you had some minor bleeding but thankfully nothing that was too serious. We just need to check you over for a bit and contact your family to tell them about what happened," the nurse detailed.
"Alright but I can contact my parents on my own so you don't need to," Hannah tried to excuse as she had a feeling that this dimension wasn't her own world.
The Nurse did not respond to her and just left the room writing down some notes in a clip book he had. Hannah groaned and thought of a way to leave without being noticed. After all, if they tried to contact her parents she wasn't sure if the signal would even reach them from a different world.
"Hey the nurse told us you were good, so we can come in to see you now," a girl's voice said.
Hannah looked back to the door and saw a girl with long and slightly curly hair, a prosthetic leg, black crop top, yellow sleeveless overcoat, ripped jean shorts, and black themed ninja shoes walking in. Following behind her where two other people one was another girl who had straight black hair with the ends dyed purple, she wore a purple and black sleeveless hoodie, a jean skirt, net leggings, purple heeled shoes with black spikes on the straps, black and gray fingerless gloves that went up to her biceps, and finally some spoked loose belts that went down to her thighs. The other person Hannah couldn't tell what their gender was, that was until she spotted the non-binary badge on their shirt so she assumed that's what they were. This person wore a white T-Shirt, blue jeans, and some purplish blue shoes. Their hair was cut in a gender neutral style and was the color brown.
"Hey I'm Martha, this is my cousin Natalie, and this is my romantic partner Taylor! Their Non-Binary and go by They/Them pronouns," the girl in yellow introduced.
"Um Hi, it's nice to meet all of you, I'm Hannah," Hannah introduced herself to the three.
"Back to you, Martha and Natalie here found you out in the woods while they were out for a walk. I was in the area when they were bringing you here so I decided to help," Taylor explained.
"Yeah and they helped out a lot as they were able to properly bandage up your wound till a doc could," Natalie said.
"Oh well thanks, all of you thank you so much. It was very kind of you to help me out when I needed it," Hannah said.
"Hey it was no problem and besides we couldn't just leave you there, your wound could've gotten infected or gotten worse without medical interference," Martha stated.
"Yeah I-I guess so..." Hannah said and trailed off not sure of what else to say.
"Hey, I don't recognize you, are you from here or something?" Martha asked as she got closer to Hannah, making her nervous.
"Uhh, no I'm just visiting my grandma here! So I wont be around for very long," Hannah explained making up an excuse.
"Really? Well we should call her. I'm sure she'd like to know about what happened and that you're alright," Natalie suggested.
"Um... uh before you do, is there a bathroom I could use?" Hannah asked. "Sure it's the room next door," Taylor said while pointing to their left.
"Awesome! Thanks!" Hannah exclaimed before running out of the room and into the next room.
As soon as she was inside she locked the door and looked around for the nearest window. Thankfully she found one above a trash can mostly filled with paper towels. "I'm so sorry about this, but I need to find Adrienne and stop her before she hurts anyone else," Hannah declared as she ran up to the window.
However as she passed by the mirrors something strange about her hair caught her eye. She looked and was surprised to see that her once fully purple hair now had big red stripes running down it. That wasn't the most interesting thing though, the new red stripes were partially gray at the top.
"What the? What happened to my hair?" Hannah asked herself out loud as she touched it a bit to examine it a bit more. "Ugh I don't have time for this! I need to get going!" Hannah exclaimed as she rushed to the window.
Climbing up on the trash can Hannah managed to reach it and jump right out of the window without too much struggle. Thankfully the clinic was just one floor so Hannah didn't have to worry about fall damage. Now outside Hannah started running hoping to find Adrienne and make her pay for everything she did.
Back inside Martha, Natalie, and Taylor went outside to head home, as they left Natalie saw someone out of the corner of her eye. When she looked she saw Hannah wandering around the streets, which she wasn't supposed to do yet. Natalie tugged slightly on Martha's over coat thus getting her cousin's attention.
"Huh? What is it cous?" Martha asked.
"Look! It's Hannah! She must've left the clinic through the bathroom window," Natalie pointed out.
Martha and Taylor looked and indeed Hannah was leaving the clinic. "What the!? She's not supposed to leave yet!" Martha exclaimed upon seeing this.
"Well we better go after her and stop her before she hurts herself," Taylor suggested.
"Good Idea Tay, come on let's get going!" Martha exclaimed. The trio instantly ran after Hannah, hoping to keep her from injuring herself any further.
"Hey! Hannah! Stop! You're still hurt!" Hannah heard a familiar voice call out.
She looked back and felt her heart sink when she saw the same trio from before. Without wasting a moment Hannah bolted into the nature line on her left hoping that it could slow her pursuers down allowing her to escape. "Hey! Wait! We want to help you!" Natalie called out as the three of them ran into the nature line.
"I'm! Fine! But there are more important matters for me to attend to!" Hannah cried out.
Hannah tried to jump over a bush but missed a tree root and tumbled down a slope she couldn't see due to the bushes. Hannah tumbled down the hill, her clothes getting muddy in the process and her body getting some scrapes. "Agh! OWOWOW!" Hannah cried out as she held onto her head as the pain got worse and her body ached.
"UGH! Where's Jake when you need him?! He'd fix me up in a matter of seconds!" Hannah screamed frustrated with the pain.
"Ah! Finally caught up with you!" Hannah heard Martha call out.
She looked back and saw the two cousins and their friend sliding down to her. "Yeah. Now what on earth was that about!?" Natalie screamed in a demanding tone as she and Martha picked Hannah up.
She was too weak to even resist right now due to the pain she was in from the fall and the splitting headache. "Ugh! I can't tell you! I just gotta find someone and make them pay for harming my friend!" Hannah blurted out but was careful not to say too much.
"Well if that's the case then tell us who they are and we'll take care of them for you!" Martha said, wanting to help Hannah out even if she didn't know her for that long.
"But I don't know where she is! That's why I need to go out to find her! She's probably already doing something awful to some innocent person already!" Hannah spilled out.
"Who are you talking about? Hannah please tell us, if you're willing to go through a lot of pain just to find this person then you need help as you can't do this alone," Taylor explained as they walked around Martha and stopped in front of Hannah.
"I-I don't know if I should, you all might not even believe me," Hannah explained, hesitant to talk.
The trio all looked at each other before exchanging nods with one another. Martha and Natalie gently sat Hannah down but kept only one of their hands on her so she wouldn't try to run away. The trio all sat down around her and gave her reassuring looks to hopefully allow her to calm down.
"Believe us, strange things have happened in our city for a while now," Taylor explained.
"Yeah so whatever your story is we'll believe it alright," Natalie reassured.
"Exactly, no matter what it is we'll be here for you!" Martha exclaimed.
Hannah looked at the trio and saw in their eyes that the three of them were being honest and she could also sense some form of magic from Martha and Natalie. "Well um, I'm not sure if you three will believe this story, but I'm... I'm... I'm from another dimension!" Hannah blurted out without much thought.
The trio just stared at her for sometime not saying much; Hannah instantly went on to explain everything that had led her up to this moment. Events such as the battle, the unfortunate passing of Paris, and how she got here in the first place. "Now I need to find Adrienne, get back the dimensional key she stole, and make her pay for what she did to Paris!" Hannah declared her voice full of rage and a desire for vengeance.
"Hey, hey, now I can understand where you're coming from, and we will stop Adrienne from hurting anyone else," Martha reassured, attempting to cool Hannah's anger.
"Yeah, but first you need to try and relax as fighting when angry is a bad idea," Natalie explained.
"O-Okay, I'm sorry, I-I just cant believe that Paris is gone," Hannah said while looking down at her lap, she even felt a few salty tears watering out of her eyes.
"I understand how you feel. A few months ago I lost my father and I still can't believe he's gone, so I can feel your pain," Natalie explained as she rubbed Hannah's back slightly.
Hannah looked up at Natalie and saw the look in her eyes that were filled with understanding. Hannah smiled back and was about to open her mouth to say something when a loud explosion went off. "What in the world?!" Taylor screamed in shock as they fell over from the surprise.
The four of them all got up and raced towards the source of the commotion. When they arrived they saw a man with a red firework rocket for a hat, a mask with red and blue eye covers, a white star on his chest, a backpack full of fireworks, white and light blue stripes wrapping around his legs and arms, finally his gloves and shoes where both red. "Ahahah! The world shall know the power of Star Rockets!!" Star Rockets declared before firing more rockets.
"Oh crap, looks like Judas has corrupted someone else," Martha commented, not surprised.
"Judas?" Hannah asked, confused.
"The guy we're fighting, much like you H, we're also superheroes. Well me and Martha are, Taylors really just our wing person," Natalie clarified.
"Ah I see, that makes sense, so what do we do?" Hannah asked.
"Easy, the three of us will fight that guy while Taylor covers for us and makes sure everyone gets to safety!" Martha announced.
"Alright that's a good idea, I'll transform first! RAINBOW POWER ACTION!" Hannah screamed and transformed into her Rainbow Squad form. Once the transformation was complete Martha, Natalie, and Taylor were all amazed by how beautiful she was. However there was one strange thing about Hannah's costume that made them slightly confused.
"Hey um Hannah, is the heart on your chest meant to be slightly gray at the top?" Taylor asked.
Hannah gave them a confused look, before glancing down and seeing that the heart was indeed showing the same kind of gray that her hair had. "Um, no but this isn't the time to be asking that right now! Martha Natalie! Both of you transform now!" Hannah commanded in a rush to stop the bad guy.
"We're on it! Purple Ninja, it's time to Purify!" Natalie called out as she transformed.
"Yellow Ninja Let's Shed some Light!" Martha called out.
The two cousins both transformed and Hannah was also amazed by their transformation, it was just as incredible as her own. "Wow, that was impressive!" Hannah exclaimed.
"Thanks! Now let's go!" Yellow declared as Hannah, and Purple went up to the roof of a nearby building.
Meanwhile Star Rockets shot more and more fireworks around the place blowing up some of the building walls and setting some buildings on fire. "Ahahah! I'm having so much fun!" Star Rockets exclaimed happily.
"SMOKE BOMB!" Purple and Yellow shouted.
Star Rockets turned around and saw the two ninja's about several feet away from him, along with a strange woman in almost all red. "Stop right there Star Rockets! Your firework show ends here!" Yellow declared.
"Ah Purple and Yellow, my master Judas told me you two would be here soon. But he never mentioned anything about that lady, who is she?" Star Rockets asked.
"That's for us to know and for you to not!" Purple announced.
"Star Rockets! Quit Lollygagging and take the charms from them!" Star Rockets heard Judas' command.
He nodded and pointed his arms at the girls before shooting them. Purple and Yellow threw their scarves at lamp posts pulling themselves out of the way. Hannah meanwhile spread out her angel wings and flew up into the sky away from the blast. Star Rockets backed up as he pulled out some more fireworks out of his bag and reloaded them onto his arms. Purple seeing this knew that the corruption had to be inside of the bag thus allowing her to form a plan. Star Rockets pointed his rockets at Yellow since she was closest to him, however before he could even shoot Hannah flew right in and tackled him to the ground. She summoned her sword and he pulled out a big firework on a stick and deflected Hannah's attack with it. Star Rocket shoved her off of him and the two began swinging at one another. Hannah backs up as Star Rocket ascends on her with his own weapon of choice. He soon knocked Hannah's sword out of her hands after he had his next blow from his rocket exploding. Hannah was thrown back, groaning in pain. She looked up and saw Star Rocket pointing his arm blasters at her. However a Yellow scarf wrapped around his arm and pulled it up away from Hannah. The fireworks shot up into the sky exploding into a beautiful array of colors.
"Hey Star Rocket! Eat this! Blinding Light!" Yellow screamed.
Star Rocket whipped around and was met with a ball of light smacking him in the face. "AGH! MY EYES! I CAN'T SEE!!" Star Rocket screamed in pain while clutching his eyes.
Purple jumped behind him and pulled Hannah away before aiming at the backpack inorder to purify the corruption. Unfortunately before she could call out the incantation a black stinger smashed right into the back pack thus scaring the three girls. The stinger seemingly started absorbing the corruption inside and soon it was all gone. Star Rocket transformed back into a regular man with a 4th of July costume on.
"Ugh, I think I'm gonna be sick," The man groaned out before collapsing to the ground with his eyes open.
Hannah looked up and saw Adrienne floating over them with a smirk on her face as a scorpion-like creature crawled up her arm and rested itself around her neck.
"ADRIENNE!" Hannah screamed, getting her attention.
"Oh Hannah, it's so nice to see you survived that fall, then again it wasn't even that far from the ground. But why do I care? HAHAHA! Though I must admit even if I didn't plan on having you follow me to other dimensions I'm glad you did. Now this job will be a lot less boring," Adrienne mocked with a big smirk on her face.
"WHY ARE WE EVEN IN THIS DIMENSION AND NOT YOUR HOME!?" Hannah questioned in a demanding tone.
"Oh you'll see, now I have to move on, but I do hope to see you in the next dimension. Hehe after all if we engage in battle it will be decisively perfect and entertaining to watch you fail!" Adrienne exclaimed as she pulled out her own dimensional key.
Full of rage Hannah's wings bursted out of her back, she instantly thrusted herself up and tackled Adrienne before she could open the portal. The two wrestled each other as Hannah tried to get the key back from Adrienne while also trying to beat her up. Adrienne meanwhile kept the key out of Hannah's reach and fought back with her desire to crush her as she did with the traitorous Shadow Shifter.
Yellow and Purple froze and watched the two fight unsure on what to do. Yellow ran up to Purple and asked, "What do we do Purple?!"
"I-I don't know!" Purple exclaimed, frightened by this new threat.
Purple stood only for a second before a light flashed in her eye, she growled at this and looked to surprisingly see a small ball of light floating next to her. "What on earth?!" Purple questioned, surprised by what she saw.
Yellow looked and was just as surprised as Purple was after laying her eyes on the ball of light. The ball flew down to Purple's right and seemingly jumped on it a bit, as if it was trying to say something.
"Wait Purple! Try your powers and see if they have an effect on Adrienne!" Yellow suggested.
"Alright! I'm not so sure how this will work! But I'm willing to give it a try!" Purple exclaimed before throwing her scarf at another pole.
The little light seemingly gripped onto her ring as she pulled herself up onto the pole. Once again Purple aimed her hand but this time at Adrienne before shouting, "Purify Bloom!"
Adrienne heard the shout and looked back only to see a purple blast flying at her. Once it made contact with her Adrienne screamed as purple flowers began to bloom all over her and she began to feel incredibly weak. Hannah shoved Adrienne to the ground below after the flowers stopped blooming on her. Adrienne groaned as the purifying effect had severely weakened her, to the point she couldn't use her powers effectively as before. However she did feel them coming back slowly as the spell wasn't strong enough to weaken her for very long. Hannah dropped down to right in front of Adrienne who saw that her face was full of rage. Adrienne groaned as she shoved the flowers off her body; she quickly pulled out the key again and used it to create a door. Hannah saw this action and attempted to stop her, however Adrienne was too fast and she was able to pull herself through the portal. Thankfully she wasn't able to close the door because of her weakened state, so Hannah still had a way out.
"You better follow her!" Yellow suggested as she and Purple ran up to Hannah.
"Yeah I will! And I'm gonna make her pay for what she did to Paris!" Hannah declared.
"I hope so, and um, is this a friend of yours?" Purple asked, showing her the little ball of light on her ring.
"Huh? Um no, why?" Hannah asked.
"Not sure it just appeared next to me during the fight," Purple explained.
"Oh well, it can come with me if it wants," Hannah said.
The little light flared and flew onto Hannah's shoulder; Hannah smiled at this before she turned back to the portal and raced into the portal. She closed the door and followed Adrienne to wherever she had gone to now.
