Chapter 1 The First Day

When The Rainbow Squads returned to earth, they all separated and went back to their own homes. Iris offered to allow the Royal children to stay with her at her house. They accepted happily and followed Iris to her home on earth.

"Iris, thanks for letting us stay with you." Melody said.

"Yeah we honestly didn't know where we were going to stay. Thankfully your parents had this place for when you all went on vacation." Oberon explained.

"Yeah... but I wish that they were here with me. I have no clue where they are and if they're alright or not." Iris explained, sounding very sad.

"Well I think I can change that about your mother Iris." Apollo then said. Iris and the other Royal children looked over to Apollo, with curious looks as to what he meant.

"Apollo what do you mean?" Iris asked.

"Follow me and I'll show you." Apollo said and signaled for Iris to follow him.

Iris looked to the other Royal children, then she followed Apollo. Marry decided to see what Apollo meant as well, mostly because she wanted to know what happened to Iris's mother. That and she also wanted to apologize to Iris's mother for the things she's done when she was brainwashed. Apollo led the two girls to his room, and in the center of the room was a large body sized mirror with a golden trim.

"Um Apollo, What's this?" Iris asked, confused.

"This is what the shadow shifter brought from the kingdom of Negativity. They explained to me that your mother had sealed herself inside of it. I've tried to get her out, but I haven't had much luck so far. So your mother is fine Iris, aside from being trapped in a mirror she's alright." Apollo explained.

"Really?! OMG! I can't believe it!" Iris cried out in pure joy.

"Yes, I'll keep working on getting her out of the mirror. I've also tried to communicate with her but she's not responding." Apollo explained.

"Well I don't care, as long as she's safe then I don't care if I can't talk to her just yet." Iris explained.

"Alright, you go on and show the other Royal children where they'll be staying while here. If they also want to see your school I can show them, but they'll have to wear disguises. However they'll still be taking their royal classes, as I can take on the appearance of their guardian for all of them. That and they'll need to attend their royal classes alongside the regular classes of the school. I feel like that would be too overwhelming for them and I don't want them to be overwhelmed." Apollo explained.

"Alright, thanks for letting me know Apollo. I'm going to help them unpack into their rooms, and good luck with trying to get my mom out of that mirror." Iris said.

"Thanks Iris, and if you want to know where the Shadow Shifter is, they're outside in the garden." Apollo explained.

Iris nodded and left the room to help the Royal children unpack and get comfortable in the house. Marry meanwhile was outside of the room and heard the whole conversation. She felt bad that Iris's mother was trapped in a mirror, but she was glad that she was alright. She also hoped that Apollo could get her out and she'd be able to apologize when that happened. She then left to sort out her own room as she'd be staying with Iris till their kingdom was restored to its former glory. She'd hoped that as soon as she missed how things in theri kingdom used to be before the invasion.

Meanwhile at Hannah's house, both Hannah and Jake's families were over at her house. They wanted to have a big family dinner together as a way to enjoy the last day of summer before the kids had to go back to school.

Jake had about three brothers and a little sister, one of his brothers was older than him, two of them were younger, and his sister was just a baby. So the two younger boys were playing with Lily and Jake's baby sister was being watched by his dad with the help of Hannah's father as well. Jake's oldest brother was just sitting on the couch playing a game on his phone. The moms were cooking the food for dinner, while the dads would wash the dishes after dinner.

"Hey Hannah I'm glad our families decided to have dinner over at your place." Jake said.

"Yeah me too, and I'm glad dad isn't cooking dinner. He's a great father, but not a great cook, trust me his lasagna will leave you writhing in the toilet for an hour." Hanna whispered jokingly to Jake.

Jake laughed a little at the comment, he could relate to having a relative like that, as his aunt was a terrible cook herself.

"Hey, why don't we go check up on your brother? We've been gone for two weeks so we should see how he's doing. He did say he'd be working on his magic while we were gone." Jake explained.

"Oh yeah, I remember that. I hope he was able to get it down, he seemed to be struggling to get the levitation down." Hannah explained.

"Yeah, he was, I hope he's been able to learn it. After all, humans on earth hadn't used magic in a long time." Piccia explained.

Jake nodded in agreement, the two then got up from their spot on the stairs. Hannah picked up Amanda while Jake put Piccia on his arm and they went up to Daniel's room. When they got to his door, Hannah knocked on it lightly to get her brother's attention.

"Yes, who is it?" Daniels' muffled voice came from the other side of the door.

"Hey Bro, it's me and Jake, can we come in?" Hannah asked.

"Sure, go ahead." Daniel replied, he sounded rather upset.

This didn't go unnoticed by Jake or Hannah, they wondered why he was upset. They both decided to ask him about it when they got inside the room. So the two went in and when they did they saw Daniel sitting on the side of his bed holding his head in his hands.

"Hey Bro, you alright? You sounded kinda upset when you replied." Hannah explained.

"Yeah I'm fine, just can't get this stupid spell to work!" Daniel explained, annoyed, then flopped down on his back.

Hannah looked at her brother sadly, she then felt something on her shoulder. She looked and saw that it was Amanda who also looked at Daniel with worry.

"Hey Bro don't worry, you'll get it down, I promise." Hannah said reassuringly.

"Easy for you to say, when you, Jake, and the other squads all learned this spell it was like lifting a feather for you all. When I tried it was like trying to play a game with a broken controller, which is impossible." Daniel explained, clearly very upset over his situation.

"Amanda, Piccia can you two help out? Is there any advice you two could give to Daniel?" Hannah asked, she wanted to help her brother in any way she could.

"Well the reason you all learned it easily was because your magic was already activated with your amulets. So you got a push into learning it, that's why it was easy. However Daniel never used a magical artifact so he didn't get that push you all got. It's why it's so hard for him to learn how to use his own magic as he used it on reflex." Piccia explained.

"Well can't I use a magical artifact to give my own magic a push?" Daniel asked, confused.

"If we had one, yes, but we don't, as they were all taken by Lucifer and twisted to his dark desires." Amanda explained.

"Ugh! So that means I'm gonna have to learn magic the hard way huh?" Daniel asked.

"Unfortunately yes, but we can try to help you as much as possible to maintain control." Piccia explained.

"Well I guess that works, thanks guys." Daniel said.

"Anytime, and hey we can also give you some advice to you using your magic." Jake explained.

"CODY! BRADON! YOU TWO BOYS GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF THE COOKIE JAR NOW! DON'T MAKE ME SAY IT AGAIN!" The five heard Jake's mom scream at his brothers.

"Hehe, Looks like my younger brothers tried to steal some cookies, but got caught by mom." Jake commented.

"Sounds like it, hopefully they won't try that again, your mom sounds scary when she's angry." Daniel stated.

"Yeah she is, you should see what she's like when she's really angry." Jake said.

"Come on, let's go downstairs, I feel like Dinner's going to be ready soon." Hannah explained.

The two boys and two animal guides nodded, and they all went down stairs for dinner. Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Negativity Lucifer was wandering down the halls of his castle. He was looking to see how things had changed since he had gone into his deep sleep.

While he was awake, he didn't have enough magic to invade earth and finish what he started. So for now he wanted to focus on his kingdom and create new items to make stronger shadows. He didn't want to put himself back into another deep sleep to regain his magic.

As he explored the castle, he saw that Adrienne had done a wonderful job as acting queen. The kingdom had a good amount of negativity flowing in, and the people of Iris's kingdom where just as weak as ever with their negative emotions being so strong. He was proud of his daughter for what she had done while in-charge, then again she was His daughter so it was expected.

As he wandered down the halls he passed by his generals quarters. He took a peek inside and saw Shade and Samuel fast asleep in their beds. He frowned at only having two generals now, he knew he had to get more if he ever wanted to stand a chance against the Squads. So he started thinking of what he could do in order to get more generals. Trying to brainwash Marry again was out of the question as Iris would never allow such a thing to happen to her friend again. However he then remembered the fear experiment that had taken over the Red Squads. Lucifer smiled evilly as he thought about it, he just needed to find a host for it, as right now it's as useful as a paper weight.

"How can I find a host for it? The Rainbow Squads and their family are out of the question, their love and care for one another is too strong." Lucifer spat the words love and care as if they were venom. "Hmm... wait, what if I use a human who hates them, and wants to cause harm to them? HA! It's perfect someone like that will be willing to be my servant and that experiments host. Oh Lucifer you're quite the genius aren't you?" Lucifer proudly asked himself.

He then left to use his crystal ball to try and find a human who's willing to become his servant and a host for the experiment.

The next day, The Squads were heading to school, none of them happy about it, but happy that they wear home after a tiring two weeks.

"Oh god! I feel so exhausted, I hope I won't fall asleep in history class." Josh said.

"Yeah bro, if you do then our teacher is going to be on your case like a detective solving a mystery." Lila explained.

"Honestly, you falling asleep in class won't be a surprise. After all you get bored easily, with the way your brain works, [however it does], causes you to get bored easily." Jane commented.

"I'm aware Jane, you don't need to tell everyone that. Anyone who knows me will know how I am." Josh said.

"Well I'm just glad I can take music class this year. That's going to help me out a lot later down the line, after all becoming a singer is my biggest dream." Erick explained.

"And your singing is amazing love, so I know you can do it!" Jane encouraged her boyfriend.

Erick smiled at his girlfriend's words, happy to have such a supportive girlfriend in his life.

"Hey guys! It's good to see you all in school today!" The Squads heard Iris call out.

They looked back and saw Iris, Marry, and Apollo (in his human form of course) walking up to them with warm smiles on their faces.

"Hey guys, how was your night?" Ed asked.

"It was nice! Oh and Apollo's going to enroll Marry into the school like he did with me!" Iris explained excitedly, happy to have her best friend join her in school.

"Really? That's great! I'm glad she's joining us! Don't worry Marry, you're going to have a great time here in Springfield Consolidated." Lila explained.

"Consolidated? Why is the school called that instead of Springfield High?" Marry asked, confused by the school's name.

"Well the school isn't just a high-school, it's also a middle and elementary school." Jake explained.

"Yeah when my dad had this school built he wanted many tech programs available so many children could get a good education. He also wanted many students of different ages to attend as well. The Elementary school part of the building has the typical stiff that you'd find in an elementary school, same with the middle and High schools." Ed explained.

"Ah, alright, well I can't wait to come here with you all. I haven't been to school ever since I was brainwashed." Marry explained.

"Well that's not a worry anymore, also can I ask but where are the other Royal children?" Josh asked as he noticed the absence of their otherworldly friends.

"They already have school, that being their royal classes. Unlike us they still have contact with their own worlds. So they can still attend their royal classes." Apollo explained.

"Oh alright, that makes sense." Josh said.

"We better get going now guys, the first bell will ring soon and I don't want to be late." Hannah explained.

The others all nodded then they headed into the school building for their first day of the new school year. After entering the building the Squads went to their first class of the day, while Apollo took Marry to the principal's office to enroll her into the school.

Marry was both nervous and excited to go to school again, as she hadn't been in school for a while. However she felt bad that Light and Smith were still brainwashed, while she was free. She hoped that they'd be freed soon as well, so they all can be together again. Soon Apollo had officially enrolled Marry into the school and allowed the principal to believe she was his niece. Once that was done Marry was given her student ID and sent off to her first class of the day.

"Alright Marry your enrolled here now, I hope you have a good time here in the school. Remember don't use your magic here, I know you're not as powerful as Iris, but magic is still off limits when you're in public." Apollo explained.

"I understand Apollo, I won't use my magic while in school or public." Marry said.

"Good, now I have to go, I did my part, so you go on and head to class. If the Shadows show up you stay with Iris, and don't get involved unless you need to." Apollo explained.

Marry nodded then went to her first class of the day, while Apollo left the school for his own duties. After a few hours it was now lunchtime so now the squads along with Iris and Marry where in the lunchroom. They all sat down at their usual table they were at for lunch and began talking.

"So Marry how has your first day been so far?" Lila asked.

"So far so good. I've been enjoying the classes we've had so far." Marry explained.

"Great! We've got about three more after lunch, science, Algebra, and then history. After school is done we're going to head to the ice cream shop and do our homework there." Lila explained.

"Oh really? That sounds fun, I'd like to join, I haven't had Ice Cream in a long time so it'll be nice to have it again." Marry explained happily.

Iris and the Squads all smiled at that, happy to see that Marry was happy. They then moved on to talking about their summer and what they did during summer. Soon lunch was over and they all went to their science class. As Hannah was walking she wasn't paying attention to where she was going, this resulted in her bumping into someone. The two students fell to the floor, and Hannah scrambled to pick up her own stuff as well as the other students' stuff.

"Oh I am so sorry! Here let me help you out here!" Hannah said as she picked up the other students' stuff.

When she looked at the other student she saw that it was a girl. She looked to be around the same age as Hannah, and had the same build as she did. The girl's hair was a light pink, she wore a magenta turtleneck sweater, and a dark pink skirt. She had on light pink dress shoes. The girl then looked up at Hannah, and when she saw her she gave her a dark glare.

"Um hello I'm Hannah and you are?" Hannah asked.

"Clare, not like you'd care!" Clare spat at Hannah angrily.

She then ripped the papers Hannah was handing to her out of her hands and got up, then stormed off.

"Um... what was that about?" Hannah asked, confused by Clare's aggressive behavior.

"Oh, um that was Clare, and I know why she was being so rude to you." Jake explained.

"What why?" Hannah asked, confused.

"Well it turns out she had a crush on me. I found out when she asked me out before summer had started. However I told her that I was dating you, she didn't take it well and I'm assuming she hates you now." Jake explained.

When Hannah heard that she felt pretty disheartened, as she didn't expect her relationship with Jake to result in her getting hated on by another classmate. She felt bad for Clare, but also hoped that Clare would find another boy to love, as there were plenty of fish in the sea as her mother told her.

Meanwhile Clare was stomping off to class in an angry fit, as she ran into the one girl she hated more than anyone else in the school. She'd been lonely her whole life as her parents worked overseas and she'd didn't have friends in school. She was lucky enough to avoid Mark and his gang of friends to not be bullied by them, but she still didn't have friends.

However when she first met Jake, he was the only person who actually talked to her and felt like he actually cared about her. This caused her to fall in love with him and while he spent the most time with his small group of friends he did spend time with her whenever his friends couldn't. He'd even invite her over to his house to play video games and she loved it.

Then when she finally confessed to him that she had a crush on him and asked him out, he told her he was already dating Hannah AKA the new girl. When Clare heard that she was filled with jealousy and rage as to her Jake was the only boy who wanted to be near her and she hoped to date her. However she was proven wrong when Jake told her he just saw her as a friend and was already in a relationship with Hannah. He did offer her to be in his friend group but she wanted nothing to do with them as Hannah was in the group.

"What does Hannah have that I don't?! She's not that Pretty! I'm way cuter and prettier than her! So why did he have to fall in love with her?!" Clare asked herself angrily as she bit her thumb nail.

She felt so much hatred and anger towards Hannah for her taking away the only boy she loved. She wished that Hannah never came to this city or this school. If she didn't then maybe Jake would've fallen in love with her.

As she walked through the school she passed by a dimly lit hallway that gave off an eerie vibe. The light in that hallway was broken and was planned to get fixed the next day. As Clare passed it she felt the presence of someone down that hallway. She looked down the hallway, but due to the darkness she couldn't see anyone, so she pulled out her cell phone and activated its flashlight.

When she turned it on she saw a man dressed in a black, white, and red clown costume. The man had a half mask on that only covered the upper part of his face. He smiled at her sinisterly which sent a shiver down Clare's Spine. Then in a blink of an eye he disappeared from view, Clare stood there for a while confused beyond her mind. However she shrugged it off and thought that she'd been watching too many horror movies with the upcoming Spooky Month. So Clare turned her phone's Flashlight off and continued on her way to class.

Meanwhile outside of the school Jack had teleported out of the building and met up with his brother who was waiting for him.

"Hello brother, I think I found what we were looking for!" Jack exclaimed in his clownish voice.

"Really? That fast, hehe I guess what our King said was right. Humans are such easy creatures, and finding ones who want to cause harm to others is as common as pennies." John stated.

"Yes, now all we have to do is persuade her into helping us, and she'll be a great host for that fear experiment, oh what was its name again?" Jack asked his brother.

"I think it was Craindre." John said.

"Oh yes that, now let's go report to our king! He'll be very pleased." Jack said.

"What about the Squads? Won't they get suspicious of us if we don't attack for a while?" John asked.

"Well Lucifer said that Shade and Samuel will keep them busy while we work on getting Craindre their host. That should prevent them from believing we're up to something for a while." Jack explained.

John smiled at his brothers and the two brothers left earth to go back to their kingdom and report to their king. They smiled at the thought of what Craindre would do once they got their new host. They hoped that Clare would be more cooperative than Hannah was, as they were informed about that event when Hannah was its host. They'd hoped that Clare and Craindre's hatred towards Hannah would be enough to take her out for good.
