The next day in the shadow realm, the generals were discussing yesterday's events.

"You failed again Melaine! Our master isn't liking this one bit," Samuel lectured.

"I'm well aware of that Samuel!" Melaine retorted.

"Oh you all are making Lucifer very angry" a female voice added.

The Shadow generals looked and saw a familiar figure to them, coming into view from the darkness.

"Ah Adrienne, how have you been?" Samuel asked.

"I've been alright but no luck with finding the shards of the rainbow crystal heart." Adrienne explained, showing that she wasn't in the mood for funny business.

"Hmm, I still don't see why Lucifer would trust just you to find that crystal" Shade said.

"Well that's because Iris is even more important than the crystal as she has rainbow hair and eyes and the chances are one in 30 million." Adrienne explained.

"She's not wrong after all, rainbow hair is already rare as it is, same for the eyes, but twice as rare. They normally mean that someone has great power. Having both means that Iris possibly has unbelievable power and that means she's a threat to us and our master. So capturing her is our top priority, as well as destroying the Rainbow Squads." Samuel explained.

"Yes, however Samuel, I feel like it's your time to take a crack at this, after all you're not Lucifer's left hand man for nothing." Adrienne stated, building him up hoping he'd get results.

"Exactly, after all these two both failed twice," Samuel said while pointing at an offended Shade and Melaine.

He then got up and headed off to earth to find Iris and destroy the Rainbow Squads.

Meanwhile the squads were at the park waiting for Jenny and Ed.

"So um did you guys see that new movie?" Josh asked, trying to start up a conversation.

"Um no, I didn't. My family and I went to my grandpa's place." Erick said.

"I'm just more curious about what's going on. I mean evil shadow guys, a princess they're looking for, and these" Hannah said while holding her necklace.

"Yeah, I've been thinking of this too. There are so many questions running through my head that playing my video games isn't taking my mind off it." Jake said.

"Yeah bro all of this happening to us is just so much for us to take in." Lila stated.

Just then a limo drove up to the front of the park. Then a man came out of it and to their shock when he opened the door, Ed came out of the car.

"Hey guys," he said with a smile on his face.

"What the! ED WHY ARE YOU IN A LIMO!?" Erick asked, surprised.

"Oh right, well I feel like it's time I finally tell you all. Hop in and I'll explain everything at my place" Ed said.

The group looked at each other and decided to listen to their friend and got into the limo. The group saw that inside there were candies as well as Coke and that Jenny was already in it.

"Hey guys, how are you doing today?" Jenny asked a bit weirded out by what was going on.

"Alright I guess." Hannah answered.

Once everyone was in the limbo Ed asked the driver to take them to his place. After a few minutes of driving they arrived at Ed's place and when they all saw it their jaws hit the floor. They were standing right in front of the house of the mayor of the city which was a large mansion.

"If I was a skeleton my jaw would have fallen off." Josh said in shock.

"Yeah, same here bro." Lila said, agreeing with her brother.

"Ed, why are we in front of the mayor's house?" Erick asked.

"Well this is what I wanted to tell you guys, the mayor... is my father." Ed explained.

They all stared at him before screaming "WHAT?!"

"Yeah I didn't tell you guys cause I felt like it wasn't necessary and I wanted to know I can trust you all before telling you all who my father was," Ed explained.

After his explanation his friends thought for a moment taking in what Ed had said. Then Hannah asked, "Ed you can trust us with this, but why don't you want anyone to know you're the mayor's son?"

"Well I felt like if people knew I was crazy rich they would only want to hang out with me for my money. So I decided to not wear expensive stuff, walk home by myself, or anything else that might give off the impression that I'm rich." Ed explained while looking down waiting for his friend's response.

"Hey Ed we'd never take advantage of you let alone be friends with you just for money," Jenny explained.

"Yeah dude you're our friend, we like you for you we don't care that your family is crazy rich." Josh agreed.

"Yeah we would have a problem with it, if you were a spoiled brat, but you're not, so we don't mind this at all," Jane said.

Ed looked at his friends and they all had agreeing looks on their faces as well as smiles. Ed smiled back and led his friends inside his home and took them to a room that led out to the garden. They all sat down and a woman who was Indian came in with snacks and refreshments.

"Everyone this is Catherine, she's my caretaker while my parents are out and she's from India." Ed said introducing Catherine.

"Hello there, Ed here has told me much about you all. He also told me he would bring you all here so I prepared snacks and drinks for you all. We have a selection of fruits from tropical islands as well as sweets handmade from our chiefs. We also have freshly made dragon fruit juice alongside some freshly brewed tea," Catherine said while placing down the two plates of fruits and sweets.

She then poured Jenny, Ed, Lila, and Jane some tea and gave the juice to Hannah, Josh, Jake, and Erick.

"Mmm this tea is good Ed." Jenny complemented.

"Yeah and this juice is awesome, probably the best juice I've ever had." Erick said.

"Thanks guys, that's very nice of you all to say." Ed said.

"So Ed, why did you want us to come to your house? We could've had snacks and drinks at the park." Erick asked.

"Oh right, I almost forgot. I brought you all here to talk about the Rainbow Squads." Ed explained being careful with his words.

Everyone except Ed, Jenny, and Catherine froze from the words that came out of his mouth.

"Um Ed what do you mean by Rainbow Squads, what's that?" Jenny asked, confused.

"Y-Yeah what is it some sort of um... a-anime?" Lila asked nervously.

"Catherine, can you show them the video please?" Ed asked politely.

"Of course, Ed good sir" Catherine answered while pulling out a remote and pushing a button on it.

Curtains then started covering up the windows and a big TV screen came down and it started playing a video of Hannah transforming along with Jake, Josh, Lila, Erick, and Jane. The six of them looked nervous while Jenny looked shocked.

"You guys are the heroes from the news!" Jenny exclaimed.

Instead of answering Jenny Hannah looked to Ed and pleaded "E-Ed please you can't show this to anyone it's a secret."

"It's Ok Hannah. No one else aside from me and Catherine has seen this footage," Ed explained, calming the group down a bit.

"I-I can't believe it my younger siblings are big fans of the Rainbow Squads and want to know who they were and it turns out they're my best friends." Jenny said, shocked.

"Jenny I know but, you can't tell them no one can know. It'll put them in danger as they dont have any magic to fight our opponents," Hannah explained.

"Yeah and Ed, why would you show this to Jenny and the rest of us?" Jake asked.

"Oh well Jenny can you show the group the hair pick you got the other day from that homeless woman please?" Ed asked.

"Oh this?" Jenny asked while taking a hair pick out of her bag.

The pick was gold while there was a dark blue gem in the center of it.

"Jenny, you got that from an old homeless woman?" Hannah asked.

"Yeah I gave her some leftovers from dinner as well as the 30 dollars I had and she gave this to me as a thank you." Jenny explained.

"Guys it's confirmed that the old lady has something to do with this whole thing." Jake said.

"What do you mean by that Jake?" Jenny asked.

They then explained that the same old woman had given them jewelry that caused them to gain the powers and how they became the heroes on TV.

"Wow, that's amazing, so do you think I'll get powers too?" Jenny asked.

"I think so, wait Ed did you get something from the homeless woman as well?" Hannah asked.

"Oh yeah Catherine can you get it?" Ed asked.

"Yes Ed. I had it in case you wanted to show it." Catherine said while pulling out a pair of glasses with an orange gem in the center from her pocket.

"That same old woman gave me this after I gave her a hundred dollars while I was on my way home from the hospital the other day. I gave her some of the food I had on me as well so she could eat something since she looked hungry." Ed said while looking at the glasses.

"So that means Ed and Jenny are now a part of the squads? AWESOME!" Josh exclaimed.

"Yeah but I don't know if I want to do that. After all, I prefer studying and looking for new ways to make the world a better place. I'm not so good at fighting," Ed added.

"Yeah and I don't know if I can keep this a secret from my family. After all, I have twelve siblings and they'll find out that I'm a superhero soon." Jenny said.

"But guys we're a team now and I know you two can help out." Hannah said.

"Yeah Hannah's right you guys can indeed help us. Ed your smarts are incredibly useful, and Jenny, your active and positive personality can help us stay positive, more than Josh can." Jane stated.

"Yeah it's true, Jenny you're better at making other people smile, not to mention you're amazing at cooking." Josh said.

"Thanks guys but I'll have to think about it, '' Jenny said unsure.

"Same here, as fighting someone is kind of intimidating to me, '' Ed said.

"Hey I hate to interrupt you all but a shadow creature has been sighted at the mall," Catherine said while looking through a tablet where she got the information from.

"Oh No Guys! We gotta go and stop it!" Hannah exclaimed in a panic.

"Don't worry, I'll have my driver take us there. Catherine, can you help get the other people out of the area and to safety?" Ed asked.

"Of course I can, while I'm doing that the rest of you go in through the back of the mall to avoid being seen." Catherine said.

"Ok thanks Catherine," Ed said while getting up.

"Oh and Ed, Jenny, I know that you two can help your friends out in the fight, you just need to believe in yourselves." Catherine said.

The two looked at each other before saying that they would think about it and headed out of the door.

A few minutes later The group arrived at the mall, where people were screaming in fear. The group ran in through the back entrance while Catherine got others to safety. When they got inside they saw that the shadow had taken on the form of a huge porcupine and was shooting its needles everywhere.

"Ok guys, let's take care of this shadow quickly." Hannah said and her friends nodded their heads and shouted "Rainbow Power Action".

They all transformed into the Rainbow Squads and fought the porcupine.

"Guys be careful, a porcupine's spines are there for self defense but they're exposed at their stomachs so attack from there!" Ed exclaimed.

"Oh Ed thanks for the info. Prepare yourself, porcupine, cause your stomach is going to be your ultimate weakness." Josh said as he ran and slid under the porcupine.

However, a blood curdling scream came out of him and when he came back out from underneath the shadow. He had quills in his face and other parts of his body.

"Haha you'd think it'd be that easy Rainbow Squads! Ha, this shadow has spines everywhere on its body." Samuel mocked.

"W-what the? Who are you?" Hannah asked.

"Ooh, I'm Samuel, the second in command to Lucifer, the king of darkness and negative feelings." Samuel said in an evil tone.

"Alright now it's getting interesting" Erick said while getting into a battle stance.

"Well at least we know more about Lucifer now." Jane said.

"Yeah and it will be the last you all know of him. SHADOW DESTOY THEM!" Samuel commanded his shadow monster.

It then shot quills at the squads and they all got stuck to the wall except for Ed and Jenny.

'Oh no what do I do? I'm the smart one. How can I help my friends if I can't give them the info that they need?' Ed thought worryingly to himself.

'Oh no how can I help? What can I do to help my friends? My big brother would know what to do. But I can't tell him about this. Does that mean I'm not being loyal to my family?' Jenny thought to herself.

'Hey you two stop thinking that way. Ed, your smarts are amazing but knowledge won't always work. Sometimes what people need the most is encouragement and you can give them that. As for you Jenny, it's great to be loyal to your family and friends but keeping a secret like this from them to protect them is the most loyal thing you can do for them. Now put these amulets on and say 'RAINBOW POWER ACTION!' An unknown female voice came from within Ed and Jenny's head leaving the two confused and thinking about what it commanded.

Ed thought about what it said to him. He then thought about something his father said to him when he was running for mayor, that if it wasn't for his wife, Ed's mom, then all the knowledge in the world would have never allowed him to become the man he is. His wife encouraged him to succeed. It was all encouragement, not just information.

As for Jenny, she was thinking of secrets night where she and her siblings would tell each other secrets they didn't want their parents to know about. However, she remembered that she kept a few to herself as she had stuff she didn't want them to know. That told her that just because she keeps secrets from the ones she loves doesn't mean she's not being loyal to them, it means she is protecting them.

Their thoughts however were interrupted when the shadow roared and charged at their still pinned friends. They knew that they had to act now if they wanted to save their friends so Ed put on the glasses and Jenny put the hair pin in her bun.

The two then said, "RAINBOW POWER ACTION!"

Jenny was then surrounded by dark blue light and Ed was surrounded by an orange light. Jenny's clothes then turned into a dark blue dress with two white stripes going down the sides. Her skirt was a dark blue frilly high-low skirt, and her shoes turned into beautiful dark blue dress shoes. Her hair then glowed and turned from pink to dark blue and it got bigger and shiner like the rest of her friends' hair.

She then said, "The color of periwinkle's and the color of loyalty. In the blue squad, those of you who need a loyal friend don't worry, I'm here. You can count on me to be loyal to you all the way through."

As for Ed, the lenses of the glasses turned orange and his clothes became an orange suit and his shoes turned into dress shoes. His hair then glowed and became a bigger and brighter orange and just like the rest of the group.

He then said, "The color of Cosmos and the color of encouragement, I'm the Orange squad. Those of you who are struggling fear not because I'm here to give you the encouragement you need."

When Samuel saw this, he wasn't happy that the rainbow squads were now complete and that was bad news for his master Lucifer.

"Great, now all you squads are now complete. However, this gives me the chance to destroy all of you at once and Lucifer will see that I truly deserve to be his right hand man." Samuel then commanded his shadow to finish the squads off.

'Ed quickly focus all your encouragement into your heart then into your glasses and say, 'light of encouragement'. Jenny focus your loyalty into your heart, then into your hair pin and say, 'Bow of loyalty' and use it on your friends to give them a boost of energy so they can get free.' The voice said to them again.

Ed and Jenny, while still wondering where that voice was coming from, had no time to wonder as the shadow was preparing for another attack.

So Ed focused all his encouragement into his heart then to his glasses, which inturn caused them to glow brighter and brighter and once it was bright enough he screamed "LIGHT OF ENCOURAGEMENT!"

When he said that a beam light came out of his glasses and it hit the shadow right in its face which caused it to stop.

Jenny did the same thing with her loyalty and screamed "BOW OF LOYALTY!"

Then a dark blue bow came out of her hair pin and when she pulled the string arrows of light formed and she pointed it at her friends and firered. The arrows turned into magic dust and when it came into contact with her friends they got a boost of energy. This allowed them to get free from the quills and allow them to continue on the fight.

"Ok you guys, let's finish this fight and save that person," Hannah said while summoning her heart sword.

"Aw yeah let's do this!" Erick exclaimed as they went in for the final blow.

Samuel was in such shock that he didn't notice the squads coming at him. When he did it was too late and Erick punched him in the face causing him to drop the Crystal Orb.

This allowed Hannah to slice through it and destroy it, which caused all the positive emotions that were sealed inside it to go back into their original host. While Samuel, angry and dazed from Erick's attack, left the battlefield saying he'll get them one day and Lucifer will rule their world.

"We'll be the judge of that. We won't let you shadow freaks take over our home. EARTH FOREVER!" Erick exclaimed.

"Yeah what Erick said, we'll protect our home from you all and keep this Lucifer from taking it over." Josh said confidently.

Hannah smiled watching her friends, she then turned to Jenny and Ed, smiled at them and reached her hand out.

"Welcome to the team guys, and judging by what that Samuel guy said you are our last members. So what'd you say?" Hannah asked.

"Of course! I want to do what I can to protect my family and friends." Jenny said.

"And I'll do whatever I can to help as well and be a part of the team. I'll also make sure that our secret will stay hidden." Ed said.

Hannah smiled hearing this and Josh then put his hand out and said, "Hey guys let's do a hands in and do a little catchphrase."

"Oh nice idea bro but what kind of catchphrase should we use?" Lila asked.

"I've got one that we can use." Jenny suggested and told them what it was.

They all agreed to it and put their hands in and saud together "Shining bright in the darkest night! Here comes the Rainbow Squads!"
