Chapter 3 The Green squad

The next day Hannah was heading to school, however she was pretty tired as she didn't sleep very well. She was still processing what had just happened to her the previous day, when she saw Jake up ahead. She got excited and ran up to him calling out his name. When Jake heard someone calling his name, he turned to see it was Hannah.

"Oh hey, Hannah, how are you doing this morning?" Jake asked.

"Oh I've been doing great," Hannah said in a joyful tone.

"Oh really, you do seem happier than you did when you first got here. How did you cheer up so fast?" Jake asked.

"Well, I just thought of the good things that will come while I'm here and hey if my old friends ever get the chance to meet you and the others we can all become one big friend group," Hannah said cheerfully.

"Well, that's good to hear, and I'd like to have more friends as well as the rest of the group would," Jake said with a smile on his face.

Just then Josh ran right up to the two of them so fast that he almost crashed into them. "GUYS HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS?!" Josh screamed and questioned at the same time.

"Um no, why?" Hannah asked.

"Yeah, Josh, I know you would get excited when you hear the latest news, but I've never seen you this excited before." Jake said.

"Check it out, your guys brains are going to blow from this," Josh blurted out, then showed his phone to Hannah and Jake.

The phone had a video from the local news staion that said the following: "Mysterious woman appears and defeats a strange shadow creature and saves many." A reporter then showed up on camera and Hannah recognized the area as the cram school where she fought that shadow creature the day before.

The reporter continued, "This is the spot where eyewitnesses say that a shadow monster had suddenly appeared alongside a woman who destroyed it and somehow fixed all the damage in the area."

Hannah's eyes widened as she didn't know that this would be recorded and then shown all over the news, including the internet. She'd hoped that no one saw her transformed, and she would remain incognito.

The reporter then turned to a man who was an eyewitness to the transformative fight and asked him, "Sir, you said that you saw the fight, so did you see where the woman came from?"

"No ma'am, I didn't. All I saw was this bright light and then she appeared; it was like magic," the man explained, his voice trembling as he was still in shock from the whole ordeal he had seen.

Hannah felt a little bit of relief that all this guy saw was a bright light and not her transforming. She didn't know why but she felt like it was good that no one knew that it was her.

"Isn't it awesome!? A monster showed up near that cram school and this strange woman appeared and fought it, then disappeared. It was like magic," Josh said, his voice coated in excitement.

"Yeah, crazy..." Hannah said awkwardly.

"Man, Josh, if there's anyone who can give us the latest news it's you," Jake stated in his friendly demeanor.

"Yeah, I'm the guy you need to go to when you need the latest news update. I mean have you seen my social media and blog?" Josh said while waving his phone.

Before Jake or Hannah could say anything they all heard the bell ring indicating that classes would begin shortly so they had to get a move on.

"Op, we better get going otherwise we'll be late for class. We'll talk more about this at lunch time," Jake said before heading into the school building then to his first class.

Hannah and Josh quickly followed him as well, not wanting to be late either. Soon they arrived at the lockers and Hannah was now putting her stuff in her locker when she looked over at Jake who was emptying his backpack in his locker that was about five lockers away from her. That's when she saw that he had a black glove on his hand that had a green gem in the center of it.

'What the? Where did Jake get that?' Hannah thought to herself.

Once Jake had put everything in his locker Hannah went up to him to ask about the glove.

"Hey Jake," Hannah greeted.

"Huh, oh, hey Hannah. What's up?" Jake asked.

"Oh, I was just wondering where you got that glove?" Hannah asked while pointing to the glove on Jake's hand.

"This? A homeless woman gave it to me after I gave her the money I saved up for a new video game." Jake said while staring at the glove with a smile on his face remembering how he made the homeless woman happy.

Could it be? No it can't be the same woman. It's a big city where there's a lot of homeless people around here. It can't be the same one who gave me the necklace, Hannah thought to herself as she held on to her necklace.

"Hannah, you OK?" Jake asked, noticing the look of surprise on Hannah's face.

"Huh, oh, yeah. I'm fine. I just lost my train of thought," Hannah quickly responded.

Just then the bell rang again indicating that first period was about to start so Jake and Hannah headed off to their class. The school day went by in a flash. Hannah awas heading out of school when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She looked back to see that it was Jake.

"Hey, Hannah, me and the others are going to head down to the park to do our homework, then we'll head off to the arcade. Wanna join us?" Jake asked.

"Oh sure that sounds like fun," Hannah said, accepting the invitation.

The two then left to catch up with the rest of the group who were already heading to the park.

After a few hours, the group was done with their homework. Now they were at the arcade playing some games as they were playing Jake got a call on his phone from his mother.

"Hello?... Oh hey mom what's up?... Oh, really? Ok I'll be there." Jake said then hung up the phone.

"Yo Jake dud what's wrong?" Erick asked.

"I have to head home. My mom wants a family dinner as my aunt and uncle are visiting with my cousins, my grandparents are coming as well, and my dad is coming home from work early today," Jake said as he packed up his things.

"Hey Jake, I need to go home as well as my parents would like to have a family dinner too," Hannah added as she got up to collect her school stuff.

"Oh sure, come on, let's walk home together," Jake said while offering his hand to Hannah, which she gratefully took.

The two then left the arcade to go home and to have a nice family dinner. On their way there they saw a woman complaining about something. Out of curiosity Hannah and Jake decided to see what was up. The woman seemed to be yelling at a man for some reason so the two decided to see what she was yelling at him about.

"You jerk! Be more careful, you almost tripped me!" the woman exclaimed with anger coating her voice.

"Hey Ma'am I'm sorry. Ok, I didn't see you there I'm sorry," the man said apologetically.

The woman then took a deep breath and calmed down before saying "No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped like that. I just had a bad day but I shouldn't take my anger out on others."

However the woman then heard a voice say, "Oh no you should indeed take your anger out on others."

The woman was startled by this and looked around to find the person that the voice belonged to. Hannah noticed the woman's confusion and took a look up and was horrified to see the same guy that she fought the other day hovering above the lamp post that was on the street. The lamp's light was flickering as if the man's presence dimmed out the light. The lights were just turning on as it was nearly dark due to the sun now setting.

The man laughed and said, "But you know all those positive emotions are the reason you won't so I'll remove them."

Hannah watched in horror as he took out another orb and once again stole all the positive emotions out of the woman. The same transformation happened as what had happened to the boy but this time the woman had turned into a huge black crow and started violently attacking everything within her reach.

Everyone in the area screamed and ran in terror but Hannah stayed behind knowing she could do something to help the woman and set her free. However, Jake was trying to get Hannah to run with him by pulling her with him as he attempted to run. Hannah however was pulling back as she tried to break out of his iron grip so she could transform and fight.

"Hannah! Let's go, we need to run, that thing is gonna hurt us!" Jake pleaded as he pulled on her arm harder.

"But Jake, I can do something about this!" Hannah pleaded as she pulled back.

"No! Hannah you'll get hurt besides that woman on the news and social media will show up any second and she'll do something!" Jake told her trying his best to catch his breath as he was exhausting his energy from how hard he was pulling onto Hannah's arm.

"But she's not going to show up any time soon because it's me!" Hannah blurted out before breaking free from Jake's grip, leaving him shocked by her words.

"HEY YOU STOP RIGHT NOW!" Hannah screamed.

The guy looked and smirked when he saw her.

"Oh it's nice to see you again, maybe this time you'll tell me where Princess Iris is," he said.

"Again, I don't know who you're talking about but I won't let you find her... whoever you are," Hannah said, realizing she didn't even know this guy's name.

"Oh, that's right, I never introduced myself. My name is Shade."

"Well Shade, I won't let you do this! RAINBOW POWER ACTION!" Hannah screamed at the top of her lungs then transformed.

Jake, who was still in the area, was shocked to see that Hannah was indeed that woman who was on the news. He then came out of his hiding spot and called out to Hannah. He didn't want to get too close to the shadow as he was afraid he'd get hurt if he got too close to it. The fact that it had also destroyed parts of the area it could reach didn't help either.

"Hannah what the heck is going on?!" Jake questioned.

"J-Jake I can explain later but right now I have to deal with this guy and save this woman," Hannah explained.

Shade then saw the glove that Jake was wearing and smirked when he saw it.

"Oh you have one of the amulets that Iris had, then you must know her as well," Shade hissed in a menacing tone.

"Um what's he talking about?" Jake asked nervously.

"I don't know, but he'll do anything to get answers to questions we don't have." Hannah surmised.

"That's not good." Jake stated.

Shade laughed menacingly and then commanded the monstrous shadow crow to attack them. Hannah freaked out and told Jake to run as she was the only one who could fight the shadow because she knew how to stop it. However the shadow then grabbed Hannah with its claws and threw her across the street. This left Jake frozen in fear as he was processing if he should run or help his friend. He then heard a female voice say in his head "You can help her. I know you're scared, anyone would be in this kind of a situation but you shouldn't let your fear control your actions. After all, being brave isn't about not being scared, it's about doing the action even if you're afraid. Now say Rainbow Power Action!"

Jake thought about what she said and understood that even if he was afraid he still knew that he had to do what he could to help.

"Alright I will! RAINBOW POWER ACTION!" Jake hollered at the top of his lungs, then his new glove glowed green and he was surrounded by a solid grass green light. His clothes simultaneously changed into a green suit, his shoes had also turned into grass green dress shoes. His hair then glowed and became a lighter color of green.

He then said with a bright smile on his face, " the color of nature and the color of peace, I'm the green squad. Those of you who cannot find peace in your life, don't worry I'm here to deliver it to you all."

Shade was stunned and angry that another squad had appeared but he felt like it could still lead him to princess Iris as that was the mission given to him and the others by their master.

"Well, then it looks like you decided to transform but some fancy schmancy outfit won't save you from my shadow. Now shadow DESTROY HIM AND THE GIRL AS WELL," Shade ordered and the shadow creature obeyed, grabbing a hold of Hannah once again and throwing her at Jake.

Jake's eyes widened but he stood his ground and got into a stance and with his new found powers managed to catch her without falling over. Hannah then looked to see that Jake had caught her. However before she could even thank him she felt a sharp pain in her side that had hurt her so badly that she almost began to cry. As Jake took notice of this, he saw that the shadow was charging at them, so he jumped out of the way and he went so high that he saw the roof of a building that was about six stories tall.

Jake was astonished by this and thought that he could see his house from how high he jumped. But he shook it off and took a look down at Hannah, who was in his arms, and saw that she was holding her right side that was possibly where her injury was. He put his hand on hers which caused her to blush slightly but her blushing didn't last long as Jake's hand started glowing green. As it did Hannah felt that her injury wasn't hurting anymore and when she removed her hands it was completely healed.

"Wow I have healing powers, that's amazing!" Jake exclaimed, astonished by the incredible new power he discovered he now had.

"Um yeah but we might want to talk about this later. LOOK!" Hannah screamed and pointed below them.

When Jake looked he saw that the shadow was flying right towards them.

Jake panicked but he heard the voice again and it quickly said, "Jake! Quick, focus all your kindness, peace, and love into your heart and then into your glove, then shout out "SHIELD OF PEACE".

Jake's face then became firm, he then put Hannah on his back and did what the voice told him. As he channeled all his kindness, peace and love into his heart, he sent it into his glove, and as he did so it had started glowing brighter and brighter. Once the glove stopped getting brighter he believed that it was fully charged, so Jake then shouted as loud as if he had a microphone, "SHIELD OF PEACE!"

A big green shield with the peace sign on it appeared and it blocked the Shadow's attack and Jake pushed it back to the ground before he landed on top of it himself. "Hannah you said you knew how to stop this shadow right?" Jake asked as he let Hannah off his back and she nodded.

"Well go on and do it while this thing is down!" Jake instructed, as Hannah listened to the instructions. She then did the same thing as she did yesterday and summoned her heart sword again. She saw that this time the orb was around the shadow's neck. So before Shade could get his hands on the orb Hannah stabbed it with her sword and shouted, "HEART SWORD POWER!" Her sword then sent a blast inside the orb, which resulted in it exploding like a firecracker.

This allowed all the woman's positive emotions to return to her and she changed back to normal with no memory of what happened.

"Ugh you pests! Enjoy your victory because one day you all will bow before my master, The Great Lucifer, king of shadows and negative feelings," Shade declared before teleporting out of there.

Hannah and Jake sighed, their clothes changed back to their normal forms, then the area that got damaged turned back into its previous state in the blink of an eye, like it was magic. Hannah could've sworn she had seen some rainbow sparkles around the damaged area before it transformed back.

"Hannah what's going on?" Jake asked, clearly confused by what had just happened.

"If I'm being honest, I have no clue, but that guy is trying to do evil and possibly steal everyone's positive emotions. He's also looking for someone named Princess Iris."

"Well we can't let that happen. Whatever's going on I want to help stop it," Jake said with a bright smile on his face, having managed to recover from the recent events.

Hanna smiled and hugged him before saying, "Thank you Jake. I'm glad that you're involved in this even if it's gonna be dangerous."

"Well hey I've been wanting something exciting or interesting to happen as I was pretty bored living the same kind of day by day routine. It's like I'm in one of my video games haha," Jake laughed and Hanna laughed with him. The two then continued on their way back home hoping that they were not late for supper.
