Chapter 5
(1114 words)
Snape's POV
It's been a few days since (y/n) fainted. I've been trying my best to get some lessons together, but she occupies my mind no matter how hard I try. There's nothing I can do, every step that I take I find myself longing to go back to the infirmary to see her. Hoping that my presence will wake her up like she did for me. Growling as I throw the book I had in my hand, I put my hands in my hair as I tug on it. My elbows hitting the desk as I hold my head in my hands. Gritting my teeth I furrow my brows.
"Damnit!"
Standing as the chair I was sitting in falls over, I walk out of the quarters we were to share before she fainted, leaving me to sit in them alone. The door slams behind me as I march towards the infirmary, nothing was more important than her, and I was going to be with her no matter how long it took her to wake up.
Marching into the infirmary, the large doors thud against the wall. Madam Pomfrey turns to look at me before relaxing as she's apologetic of the situation. Pulling the privacy curtain open I freeze, the anger leaving my body as I look at her.
Her hair framing her face as it looks like she's asleep. A blanket has been put over her to keep her warm. I'll have to put one of my extra robes on her in case she wakes up when I'm not in here. Feeling a pain in my chest at the thought, I walk over to her slowly, sitting down next to her in the fall too familiar seat. Reaching out to hold her hand, I swallow hard.
Wrapping my hands around her small one, I look at her. Watching to see if there was any change, if she would wake up. There was a slight cough to my left, turning to see what it was I was met with the sad gaze from Madam Pomfrey.
"Has there been a change since I've been gone, Poppy?"
She shakes her head. "Severus, I told you I would notify you immediately if there was one."
Nodding gently, I turn back to the girl on the bed, and frown. Feeling as if my heart would break from the news. There was a hand that rested on my shoulder for a moment, before squeezing gently. My head falls as I chew on the inside of my lip, trying to keep everything in.
Your POV
Looking around a bright room, my eyes furrowed as the light burned my eyes. Rubbing them the best i could, only for it to not have a change on the burning. It was quiet, getting up from where I was sitting I glance around. Seeing something red in the corner. Leaning to try and get a better look at it, I walk around the corner slowly. Stopping as I see who it is, he turns to look at me, smiling to himself.
"It's been a while, (y/n)."
"Dumbledore? What are you doing here, you're-"
"Dead? I know, I had a feeling you needed some guidance, so should we walk?"
Nodding gently, I take his arm as he offers it to me. Smiling to myself I watch as the scenery changes to the edge of the field that Hogwarts sits on. A river running next to us.
"I appeared to Harry just like this, when he was looking for the Horcruxes."
Nodding I look at him. "Do you give advice to all of your students like this?"
He hums. "Only the ones that need it the most."
Looking away from him as I watch the trees sway in the breeze that came over the field, moving the tall grass with it.
"Tell me what ails you."
"Professor Dumbledore, If you're here I think you already know."
"Call me Albus, and you're right. But for you to be able to face it, you need to say it aloud."
Sitting at a bench that was at the edge of the field I look at my shoes as I sigh slightly.
"Being on the castle grounds, I'm reminded of the time I almost lost Severus. I barely got to him in time."
"That is true, but he is alive."
"I know, but he had such a long recovery time, I worry that he might collapse any time, that my love and Fawkes' tears aren't enough."
"Phenix tears and your love are more than enough to keep him alive. The love you two share is strong, it'll take a lot more than Voldemort to be able to sever it."
"Then why do I still feel this way?"
He thinks for a moment as he strokes his beard slightly.
"That you have to find out on your own, maybe you can talk to Madam Pomfrey and see what she says, if not Hermione would be overjoyed to have a letter from you."
Nodding gently I smile at him as he fades out. Leaning on the bench I look at the field, the wind catching my hair as I blink.
Sitting up in my bed, I hear a gasp as I pant. Blinking as I my eyes adjust to the light, seeing a pale yellow curtain in front of me. Feeling a hand grab me, I turn my head to see Severus. His dark eyes are wide as he looks back at me, as if he can't believe what he's seeing.
"Hey."
Watching him blink at me for a moment his brain catches uip with what he sees.
"You, you fainted and you've been asleep, now out of no where you wake up and all you have to say is 'hey'?!"
Looking at him for a moment I start to laugh. Covering my mouth a little with my hand as I shake my head to him. Laughing harder as he looks more confused.
"You're scolding me, you were asleep for months, Severus. This should be revenge."
He sits down with a huff as Madam Pomfrey rushes in to see me, she turns to send someone else to get Minerva. Smiling at her as she runs over to me and gives me a tight hug.
"How are you feeling? Anything hurting?"
Shaking my head I chuckle gently. "I'm fine, Madam Pomfrey."
She nods gently as she sighs, a hand on her heart. The curtain gets ripped open, the wheels screeching on the track it sat on. Looking up to see Minerva point at me as she stares at me.
"Explain yourself."
Watching her walk over to me, I smile gently.
"I talked to Albus."
