Chapter 18

(No POV)

Kirako woke up tucked into her bed. She got up only to find the shadows of her room flickering about like flames. She walks out to see most of the house is like that. She could hear noise coming from the flame like beings only to find her father glaring at a bunch of villagers in front of the house. The ANBU had been called just in case, so she saw them flicker around in the surrounding background of the forest.

'Okay,' she glanced at the villagers and decided to leave it to her father. "Hello Mama," she chirped as she sat down. The Nara Matriarch smiled at her adopted daughter. "I have another assignment today, so I have no idea how long that will take." The woman nodded and hummed as she cooked breakfast. "Where are the boys?" She remembered. "They normally are all over me the mornings I'm home."

"They had missions this morning also," Kirako nodded and took the plate handed to her. "Your father isn't happy."

"The villagers have been getting worse," Kirako agreed. "I'm off Mama. Tell dad I love him and give the boys a smooch on the cheek in public for me!" She disappeared into the forest behind the house.

Shikaku was angrier than normal. Every shadow around him flickered in anger with him. He didn't want to mess with these idiot villagers again. The last true mob had nearly been ripped apart and left in a morbid, grotesque, artistic sign of "Stay Away From Here." Sadly the ANBU had to intervene but a couple "slipped" through to be killed by the man.

He felt his daughter leave, but her faithful dragon was there next to him. "Ready Nara-sama?" The man nodded. By the time the ANBU stopped them, only one person, barely, survived the encounter. No one wanted to get between the motivated Nara and his prey. No one.

- I was asked to continue this so I shall, but this is just a middle thing so I can think of what to do next.

(Fin pour l'instant)
