The Date

Karai had been so excited over the next three days. She couldn't wait for Friday. She was so uncontrollably happy that over the rest of that week I don't think she had ever not smiled. Leo could wait either. But he had to take care of something first.

Leo happily strolled into the living room where his brothers were calming watching tv, reading comics, and working on the computer. Leo's happy smile turned into an annoyed expression. He turned to his brothers, and fake coughed to get there attention. They all looked forward worriedly, and nervously turned toward Leo.

"So, how's it going Leo?" Donnie asked with a fake nervous smile put on his face. Leo secretly smirked on the inside, but kept a serious face.

"Good. So, just kiss already huh?"

" Oh, sewer apples." Raph knew. They were all screwed.

"Well. You know we do have training Monday. Be prepared." Leo simply stated and walked away, smiling to himself. The others were confused at his little actions, or the fact he didn't do more. Awkwardly, they went back to what the were doing.

Leo then proceeds to the kitchen to get a snack. He opened the fridge and grabbed some pizza bites and put them in the freezer. He then noticed Karai sitting at the table doing work for school while listening to music. She didn't like that April had enrolled her in school when she got demutatized, but liked that she got to meet new people.

Leo snuck behind Karai and gave her a hug. She was surprised at first but then giggled a little. She took her headphones off and set them on the table. "Well someone's as happy as I am."

"Yeah Karai I can't wait! What you working on?" Leo looked over her shoulder. Karai groaned.

"Homework. It's a social studies thing where we have to write a short essay on this chapter."

"That sucks."

"Tell me about it." Leo smiled anyway.

"Well anyway! I was just saying hi, and on Monday lets team up on those soft shells during training." Leo gestured to his brother in the living room. He had a plan. He always had a plan.

"Uh yeah! We need to get back at them," Karai whisper yelled. "So how are we gonna do it?"

"Well I was thinking-"

-------------------------------------

Karai was in her room pacing back and forth. She wonder what to wear on her date. She'd have to change after she came back from school, but that didn't matter. She wanted to look good, you know? She shuffled through her closet once again but couldn't decide. She had never had such good clothes. Maybe some one could help her.

Karai picked up her shell phone-provided by Donnie- and clicked on April's contact. So far she only had close family members and friends. Yes, she did see April as the sister she never had. It rang for a while and then she picked up.

"Hello?" The cheery voice picked up.

"Hey April. It's Karai. Can you come over by the lair and helps with something."

"Yeah I'll come over. Is something wrong?"

"No just need your help."

"Okay. Bye!"

"Bye."

Karai hung up and put her phone down on her dresser, provided by Donnie once again. She stood in the opening to her closet and examined her clothes for what felt like the hundredth time. She just stared. Everything was so new. She wanted to wear almost every outfit. But she also wanted to throw them out at the same time for not being special enough.

Before Karai knew it, a good amount of time had past. Leo would be coming to get her to leave soon. Good thing April had a arrived to 'save the day'. She stepped into Karai's doorway.

"I'm here. What's the sitch." April said walking over to her.

"I can't figure out what to wear. Can you help me. I know this seems way to girly and stuff but please help me." Karai said in one breath. This was serious. April had never seen her act like this. Especially when said thing was
some-what of girly-girl thing.

"Okay calm down. I'll help you. Now what do you want to look like?" April said grabbing her shoulder to calm her down. Karai took and deep breath and looked at her.

"Right. Maybe something fancy. But not too fancy. It is just Leo." Of course Karai had told April about the day. She seemed to be the only one who could keep a secret. April searched the closet for the right outfit and tapped her chin while doing so. Suddenly she peeked up and grabbed something in the back.

"I bought you this just in case, remember? You didn't want it because you though it was too girly. Then I bought you boots to go with." April pulled out a black dress that was sleeveless. The top went up to the bottom of her neck and was lacy. There's was a layer of lace over the flowing part of the dress. It had other material under it. The boots where brown ankle boots that April had found. The only way should could even get Karai in a dress like that is if it was black. And that exactly how she did it. April even secretly got her jewelry, which she'd make her wear tonight.

Karai sighed. "Ugh, fine! I'll wear it. But only because it's a first date." April clapped her hands in excitement. They got the dress on, and Karai examined herself in mirror. Her ear rings and necklace sparkles. Her expression questioned the look, however.

"You look great." A voice said from the door. The two girls turned to face Leo at the door. He wasn't all dressed up, but you could tell he tried to look nice. His padding and weapons were off him. Karai swore she could smell cologne. "I know it's a cliche to be at the door, but here I am. Ready to go?" Karai nodded.

The two headed toward the garage were the Shell Raiser was. On he way there Leo convinced Karai to link arms with him. It was actually quiet nice, but she would never admit it. They got the Shell Raiser after some time. They hopped in, and while climbing in Karai spotted Leo sword in the corner.

"I knew you could go with out it." Karai smirked at him. He turned to her, realized what she was talking about, and wore the same expression.

"Can you blame me?"

Suddenly, Karai reached down into her boot and pulled out a small knife. She slipped it back into its hidden compartment. She shrugged, smiling fully. Leo laughed lightly then sat in the driver's seat. Karai looked around for a place to sit. Suddenly, a new seat that wasn't in the van before appeared before her.

"What's that?" The girl pointed toward it. Leo patted the seat, gesturing for her to sit down.

"I had Donnie put it in so you could have a seat. That way you wouldn't have to sit in the back all the time. It's more convenient."

"More like 'I made Donnie put this seat here so I could sit next to you.'" A faint blush was worn on his face. Karai noticed it as she swung into the seat. "Knew it." She smiled more if that was even possible.

"Okay, maybe that's why it's right here. But it's still better than back there." Leo cranked up the engine and headed out of the lair. "To 24/7 we go!" With that, they pulled out.
