Chapter 1: Rebirth
The USB device was never destroyed. Pyrrha Nikos didn't want to destroy the USB after Y/N's death a few months before the Vytal Festival because it... how did she say? Hold a few memories of Y/N. Unbeknownst to her the young genius' consciousness was saved on the drive back then along with the recipe and research of the dastardly substance known as CX-0003. When Pyrrha talked to Ozpin, Glyda, Qrow and Ironwood the afternoon she was introduced to the Fall Maiden, she had accidentally dropped the USB on the ground as Ironwood noticed, he picked it up, and decided to pocket it for later...
(Timeskip Featuring Chibi Y/N getting a cord stuck in his head.)
It wad a few weeks after the fall of Beacon, Ironwood entered an Atlesian laboratory with the little USB in hand. Something HAD to be in this device, he knew it.
Ironwood: "Get this uploaded onto the computer."
He ordered to a scientist. The man who ran the system nodded hesitantly and took the USB to Ironwood.
The monitor displayed a complex coding screen, filled with what could only be described as a matrix-esque clutter of coding. Some digits blood-red and some digits grass-green.
Scientist: "General, this... this is nothing like I've ever seen before."
Ironwood: "What is all this?"
Ironwood questioned.
Scientist: "This is... I d-don't know how to describe it..."
He stuttered out, suddenly a little text box opened up on the screen. No exit button, not even minimize. The text box began displaying sentences.
???: 'Well looks like you've found my mind. Congratulations.'
Scientist: "Is this set to say specified wordings encoded in the past?"
He asked Ironwood, the General shrugged. As if on cue the text box responded almost immediately.
???: 'I am not a programmed individual. Look, General. This brain you see behind this text box has been uploaded onto this USB. If you're talking to me right now, that means my original body might've died."
Ironwood was bewildered, he looked towards a team of men behind them on similar monitors.
Ironwood: "If this is a virus, if it displays any wanting of access to any of our files. I want you all at the ready."
The men all nodded, quickly logging onto their computers. Accessing their security networks.
???: "That won't be needed. I just have one request to ask of you. Then you may dispose of this USB once I've been able to get what I want."
Scientist: "General, It's requesting something."
He turned back to the screen. The general glared at the text trying to read it as more appeared for him to read.
???: 'All I request is that you build a body for me. And please, make it as human as you possibly can, in fact, please make it like look this boy I'm about to upload.'
Ironwood silently gasped as the program uploaded a picture of D/N's son, Y/N L/N.
???: "Please make it look like him, clone skin and bone if you have to."
Ironwood: "Understood, I can adhere to that request. I do hope you don't seek to blackmail us."
???: "You trusted my father a few times before Ironwood. You don't trust his son?"
The program asked, Ironwood exhaled.
Ironwood: "So it IS you Y/N."
Y/N: "Oh thank Monty you know that it's me."
Ironwood: "Don't worry Y/N, we'll get you out of that USB drive. Chappie, how long does it take to clone a brain with metallic implants."
Chappie: "Uhhhhhh..."
(One Week Later...)
The new body was now ready, resembling Y/N wen he was at his current age before he died. The body was made of a similar substance to Penny. With help from Mister Poledina and Chappie Duncan, a scientist who specifies in cloning the body was made with artificial organs and metallic implants.
Ironwood looked at the USB containing Y/N's consciousness. He inserted it into a port built into the artificial brain, allowing Y/N's mind to physically move itself into the body created for him.
The eyes opened, Y/N rubbed them out as Ironwood removed the USB from his brainz Closing the now secure port. His artificial hair covered it's location quite well, it almost seemed as if the boy was back from the dead.
Y/N: "General!"
Ironwood smiled, giving the reborn boy a hug. Y/N patted his shoulder.
Y/N: "It's good to see you again. With real eyes at the least."
Ironwood: "How did you get to have a USB port with your own genius in it?"
Ironwood questioned with bewilderedness. He never even knew a miracle of these proportions was possible. Well at least by his expectations.
Y/N: "It's quite simple, I compressed the file containing my mind multiple times. This was back when I had created the formula CX-0..."
He said, zoning out... He could feel his brain begin to sizzle as he contemplates telling Ironwood about it. CX-0003, Evil Y/N, and his rampage throughout Vale.
Ironwood: "Is there something wrong?"
Y/N: "N-no sir nothing at all."
Ironwood: "Well, I think with the advanced neural processors you now have... I think you'd want to know what happened to Pyrrha.
Y/N: "Where is she? I hope we're not too far away form Vale."
Ironwood's smile faded as he told himself to man up and tell Y/N what had allegedly happened to the girl who had saved both him and Vale from the wrath of his own creation. He told Y/N, he went wide-eyed...
Y/N: "Oh... um. I see..."
The newly created cyborg collapsed as he had jot gotten used to his legs yet. Trying to walk towards a nearby chair. Two scientists helped him up as he adjusted himself as best as he could.
Ironwood: "Y/N I'm especially sorry."
Y/N: "No no no, don't be... it's not your fault..."
He said with a small frown, and a tear leaking down his cheek.
That was when he saw a destroyed body resembling that of a human girl. With ginger hair.
Y/N: "Hey, Ironwood... is that Penny?"
Ironwood turned to look at the half-destroyed corpse of the robotic artificial. As he nodded.
Ironwood: "Yes actually, the P-1 series battle-tech humanoid drones weren't as durable ad Mister Poledina had told us they were, We're scrapping her for spare metal."
The young cyborg walked up to Penny, who just glared at the ceiling with an already blank looking expression on her face.
Y/N: "Perhaps that's not such a good idea... The brain's still intact, all her memory banks are still in there. All we need is a little weld here and there, a couple of spare wires... and please let's replace that rope-sword system, I remember that I had told Poledina many times that it would be a bad idea... aaaand looking at these fracture points right now I assume that I was right."
Ironwood: 'He's still brilliant...'
The Atlesian General thought.
