*Daniel's P.O.V*
*alarm goes off*
I get up for school not actually planning on going to school but I have to wake Anna up.

"Anna, wake up" I say shaking her gently "we have to get ready"

Her eyes open up slowly.

"Promise me you'll go to school today....." she says sleepily.

"I promise."

Well there go my plans on staying home. I wish I could lie to my sister and stay home but I can't bring my heart to do that. So like any other day I start getting ready for school. It comes around to 7:00 so we start walking to Annas school. I drop Anna off at her school and slowly walk to mine. Once I get there I try to hid my bruised face. I don't think it's working because everyone is staring at me.

*Corbyn's P.O.V*
I walk to my first hour not expecting to see Daniel in the halls, but I do see him so walk up to him.

"Hi, daniel."

He just looks at me and walks away. When he looked at me, he looked different, his face looked different.... I didn't want to worry about it so I just went to class and waited till lunch to see him.

*bell rings for lunch*

I start walking to lunch and when I get to the table no one is there. I don't know where they are I'm later than usual to lunch. I set down my lunch and wait to see if they will come. After waiting for a few minutes I realize they aren't coming. I walk out of the lunch room and see a big crowd, I push my way through the crowd and I see Kaitlyn, Zach and some other kid. I don't know what's happening.

*Kaitlyn's P.O.V.*

"Zach, leave it be, let's just go to lunch." I say begging.

"This kid needs a taste of his own medicine." Zach replies.

"Zach, no! I don't want you getting in trouble, or worse, getting hurt."

"Kaitlyn, just trust me, I won't get in trouble."

Just then Jonah Bursts through the crowd in between Zach and Devin (the bully)

"What is going on?!?!?" Jonah yells.

"Oh look, it's Jonah, now we're just waiting for Corbyn and the nerd, what's his name oh yea, it's daniel."

"Leave daniel out if this" I yell.

"What do you love him or something?"

"I love him as a friend, and friends stick up for eachother. That's something you've probably never experienced." I say.

"What are you implying?"

"That you have no friends, at least not real friends."

"I don't know why you think you have real friends. All your friends are fake, just like you."

"Please, I'm the most real person you'll ever meet. And if my friends were fake they wouldn't be here with me right now."

"But then again Corbyn is right over there with the rest of the people."

"Leave him out of this." Zach screams.

"He obviously doesn't want to be apart of some dumb thing you did." Jonah says to him.

"Neither does daniel but at least he's not here watching this."

Jonah looks away for a second and looks back at him and punches him. He looks kinda dizzy and starts to tremble but he comes back to punch jonah. Zach then jumps in the way and gets hit instead. Zach falls down with blood coming from his nose. I rush over to him holding his head up.
"What is going on?!?!?!" I hear the principal yell.
He starts walking over to us and points to the 4 of us.

"You four in my office now!"

"I was hoping I wasn't going to hear those words again." I say.

*we go to the office and sit in the waiting room*

"Okay, you guys can go into the office now." The secretary said.

We all walk into the office and take a seat. I'm really scared, I don't know about anyone else but I'm freaking out. And I think I show it.

"Kaitlyn, u okay?" Zach asks.

"No, I'm scared" I say.

"Why, you didn't even do anything." He asks.

"It's the office, you never know what could happen."

"It's going to be fine, trust me."

He moves his hand twords mine and grabs it. We interlock fingers.

"It'll be fine"  he says reassuringly . 

"so who can tell me what happened?" the principle says. 

"Jonah punched me." devin says. 

"devin punched me." Zach says.

"he tried to punch me" Jonah says.

"I was just trying to get to class, then Jonah came up and punched me, I defended myself." devin says.

"sir, hes lying" Zach says politly. 

"I can tell, hes never on his way to class." the principle says.

"tell me Kaitlyn, who punched who, be honest."

"well devin was bullying and making fun of us, so Jonah was sticking up for us and punched him. then devin went to hit Jonah but Zach jumped in the way." I say. 

"mmmmm, okay." he replies.

"Jonah, you will have detention tomorrow, I will discuss devins punishment with him alone. you guys may leave."

Zach and I let go of each others hands. then we all walk out of the office in silence. Zach suddenly breaks the silence.

"Kaitlyn, I told you it would be fine."

"its not fine, Jonah got detention." I say.

"trust me its fine, I got detention for standing up for my friends, im fine with that." Jonah says.

"but you shouldn't have gotten detention you don't deserve it."

"Kaitlyn, he punched a kid in the face!" Zach says loudly. 

"I still don't think he should get detention, especially sense it was my fault. "

"you cant blame this all on yourself." Zach says.

"actually I can."

"how can you blame that on yourself?"

"because, he went to my old school."

"and how is that your fault?"

"I don't want to talk about here."

"why not, what happened?"

"ill tell you later...."

"café?"

"yep." 

*in the lunch room*

I see a little bit of Daniel and I automatically notice that it is him so I run up to him really fast. 

"Daniel" I say as im hugging him. 

I finally pull away from him after a minute of hugging him. I look at him for a second and realize he has a bruise right by his eye.

"Daniel.....your eye...." " what happened?"

"I walked into a pole on my way to school."

"Daniel, we all know that's not true." "I need the truth. now."

"fine..... I-I-it was my mom" he says.

"I knew it!" Corbyn says with an upbeat tone.

we all look corbyns direction giving him a look that says "its not the right time". he looks down and that smile on his face leaves.  I look back at Daniel.

"what happened?" I ask Daniel.

"I skipped school and my mom found out, so she h-hit m-m-me."

"Daniel, im so sorry."

"its fine, really."

"its not, you know you could always stay with me if you need to get away from your mom."

"I  couldn't do that to anna, I wont let her stay there alone."

"I have room for two people, my mom wouldn't mind."

"I don't want to put you through that trouble."

"its really no trouble at all, just tell me if you need a place to stay."

"k, you think we could come tomorrow?"

"of course Daniel, also, you coming to the café?"

"why not?"

*the bell rings to get back to class*

"everyone meet by the main doors after school, capeesh?

"capeesh." they all say back.

A/N 

I finally finished this chapter, it deleted some of it so I had to re write some of it(ughhh).  anyway, im grounded off of my phones and tablet, so I might be on wattpad more cuz im bored on this laptop. most likely I will update this story more, and maybe the other stories. k bye, till proly tomorrow.
