"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Welcome to the double rounds of the Vytal Tournament! Live!" Professor Port announced as he, once again, sat behind a sports table.

"Yes! The two person quadrant of the tournament has officially begun!" Oobleck agreed, sitting next to his old friend. "Two members from each team will compete in this next round, but only one will go forward!"

"Now, let's see our first matching shall we?" Prof Port asked.

Down below the crowd cheered in anticipation for the upcoming doubles round fight. Among these people sat various teams, such as RWBY, JNPR, and KELT, but two noteworthy girls looked on curiously.

"Do you really think he can do it?" Emerald asked, seated in the same spot as yesterday.

"Of course, Emerald." Emerald turned her head to the side. "I wouldn't set them against each other if I thought otherwise." Cinder told her loyal pawn, from the seat beside hers.

"But still...." Emerald looked back towards the battlefield. "...it's against him..."

Cinder giggled as she closed her eyes. "Hehe.... well there's one thing they both have in common." She opened her eyes, revealing a soft flame within them. "....They want a challenge~"

On the battlefield, four boys awaited for the fields to be chosen so they could begin. And all four of them internally sighed in relief when they finally heard the announcements.

"Silver and Mercury of Haven....!" Prof Port announced.

Mercury gave a smug smirk as he crossed his arms while (Y/N) stood there silently.

"....Versus Joey and Numpty of Beacon!"

Numpty immediately started waving towards the crowd once he heard his name called, while Joey only focused on his two opponents.

Oh Cinder.... you really know what I want, don't you~?

A smirk formed under my mask as I glanced towards the crowd, at Cinder and Emerald more precisely. Even from here I could see her smirk growing.

But my attention quickly redirected to quarters of the field replacing itself. A patch of tall grassy plains with a tree and a few rocks, ruins of a shattered city, a hot spring with geysers, and a dense forest formed around us.

Hehehe.....

I raised a brow as I looked back at my two opponents.

What is it?

I'm not going to lie... I'm kinda excited for this.

As am I. From looking your memory of him, I can only expect this to be fun.

"Hey you two." Joey called out to me and Mercury. "May the best team win."

"I'm looking forward to it." Mercury responded smugly.

"And I'm expecting much from the both of you. Try not to disappoint." I told them.

"Alright...." Numpty trailed off as Joey narrowed his eyes at me.

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Begin!"

"Alright!" Numpty cheered excitedly as he pulled out his silver katana.

With a quick burst a speed with his cheer Numpty charged straight towards (Y/N) and Mercury, but (Y/N) more specifically. Numpty charged in for a slash of his sword but his eyes widened a bit as he dodged to the side to avoid a kick to the face by Mercury.

"Hey, maybe you should try taking me on small fry." Mercury insulted.

"Hey! I'm not that short!" Numpty retorted before quickly charging at Mercury.

He lunged at Mercury and tried to perform a cross slash, but Mercury was able to jump out of the way, forcing Numpty to chase after him towards the savannah section.

"Well that only leaves us." (Y/N) stated as he continued to stare down Joey.

"Yeah, it seems that way." Joey agreed as he took on a martial arts stance.

A excited smirk formed under (Y/N)'s mask he raised up his fists.

And only in a fraction of a second later both of the fighters charged at each other head on with a sudden booming burst of speed. As they dashed towards each other (Y/N) and Joey's fist collided with each other, making the center of the battlefield crack underneath them. While everyone looked at the scene with wide eyes, (Y/N) and Joey shared a smirk as they tried pushing each other back. But neither gave up ground.

Then both boys jumped back a little before charging at each other again to exchange blows. With each punch or kick blocked caused a small gust of wind to fly.

As the crowd cheered in excitement, Numpty and Mercury were still locked in battle.

"Hiyah!" Numpty shouted as he directed a downward slash at Mercury.

However, Mercury cartwheeled backwards just in time, letting the blade cut into some long grass.

"Is that all you got?" Mercury taunted, only making Numpty growl.

With an annoyed scowl on his face, Numpty held up his katana and spun it between his fingers as it transformed into a scythe. Once transformed Numpty slashed the air in front of him as a strong gust of wind flew past Mercury, making him cover his face. When Mercury lowered his arm Numpty was right in front of him. Mercury jumped back but Numpty managed to slash right across his torso. Mercury's feet skid across the grass until he stopped, and looked down at the new tear in his clothes.

"Alright..." Mercury looked back at Numpty with a glare. "...I'mma start being serious now."

Immediately Mercury charged at Numpty with a roundhouse kick, forcing Numpty to block with his scythe but the impact knocked him back a little. But he was still able to block a quick connecting axe kick from Mercury as well.

Meanwhile, (Y/N) and Joey were practically appearing all over the battlefield. Dashing in opposite directions before charging at each other again for another blow.

Then they dashed away from each other, circling around the arena as they kept their eyes trained on each other. But (Y/N) charged towards Joey with a punch, only to have Joey block it with his forearm. But (Y/N) kept on his barrage and threw numerous punches forcing Joey move back as he blocked and parried.

As (Y/N) threw a punch, Joey dodged to the side and threw a punch towards his gut, followed by an uppercut. Upon impact (Y/N) grunted in pain before he backflipped onto his feet, then lunged at Joey with a punch across his face. Followed by a punch to the center of his chest, then a kick towards his face. But Joey caught (Y/N)'s leg and grip onto his ankle.

"...!" (Y/N) grunted as Joey started to swing (Y/N) with a full 360 rotation, then threw him back.

With a scowl (Y/N) managed to flip onto his feet and skidded across the ground until his back bumped into a tree, now entering the forest section of the battlefield. Once he reached a complete stop Joey was already in front of him and threw a punch. (Y/N) was forced to jump to the side as Joey punched the tree, leaving a splintered indent.

With a split second of the miss, (Y/N) used that chance to roundhouse kick him across the chest. Upon impact Joey was launched back until he slammed into another tree. But before he could move, (Y/N) had already appeared in front of him and unleashed a heavy barrage of punches all over his body.

From the screens above it showed how fast his aura was depleting until it reached its halfway point.

"Hyah!" (Y/N) shouted before throwing one more punch.

However....

PAT!

....his punch was caught by Joey. With a scowl formed on his face Joey locked eyes with (Y/N) before his eyes had a glint and his hair slowly spiked upwards. But then he released a loud shout as gusts of wind pushed (Y/N) back.

"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

As Joey's hair spiked upwards and turned a pink shade, a violet colored light surrounded him. And soon enough his semblance was active as (Y/N) stood in front of him with his smirk not wavering.

With the crowds still cheering in pure excitement to the turn of events, Numpty and Mercury were completely clueless to the other half of the fight due to being focused on their fight.

Currently Numpty was parrying Mercury's metal cladded boots with his scythe. But Numpty didn't expect a sweep kick so he fell down unexpectedly. With his opponent on the ground, Mercury jumped back before going into a handstand as his boots fire gusts of wind at Numpty.

Numpty, who is looking at the sky from the ground, goes wide eyed before rolling onto his feet and start slashing his scythe in the air. With each slice a gust of wind fires straight at Mercury's own barrage. Once Numpty slashed through all of the projectiles he looked back at Mercury, only to receive a drop kick to the face.

BOOM!

A large smoke cloud flooded from the forest quarter of the arena. Joey, with a semblance active, fired balls of energy at (Y/N), who was jumping from tree branch to tree branch to avoid being hit. However Joey appeared in front of (Y/N) as he leap to another branch, receiving a powerful punch to the face.

(Y/N) fell backfirst to the ground with a loud thud, and he rubbed the side of his head a little as he sat upright. But he quickly rolled out of the way as Joey punched straight into the ground where he was. (Y/N) quickly gotten onto his feet just as Joey rushed in with a barrage of blows, forcing him to block. Joey threw another punch towards (Y/N)'s face but faked him out and punched in straight in the gut, causing him to clutch his stomach and stumble back....

"Hehe..." (Y/N) chuckled. "I commend your strength. You've have to be the strongest I've faced in the recent days of fighting. But I have things to do! Sooooooo...."

(Y/N) clenched his fists as the ground started shake. Everyone felt it, even Oobleck's mug on the sports desk was shaking.

Joey just kept his eyes narrowed on his opponent as he waited for his next move. But when he saw a black light form around (Y/N) his eyes widened in confusion and surprise.

"....let's wrap this up." (Y/N) finished.

(Y/N) dashed towards Joey with a punch, but Joey blocked the blow with his forearm before the two started to exchange blows again. Once again, they started to "appear and disappear" around the four sections of the battlefield as they fought.

Now appearing the hot springs, Joey jumped up and brought down his leg for an axe kick but (Y/N) jumped back just in time, leaving a small crack where his foot landed. Then (Y/N) retaliated with a roundhouse kick, striking Joey right in the center of his chest making him fly over a geyser. But before he touched the ground he had teleported right back in behind (Y/N).

He high kicked the back of (Y/N)'s head before appearing in front of him, sucker punching him numerous times in the gut, and punching hard across the face. The impact of the punch however, causing half of (Y/N) mask to tear off, making (Y/N) quickly cover half his face with his hand.

With a scowl under his hand, (Y/N)'s flame grew even larger before he charged at Joey and attacked him with only his right arm. Despite only attacking with one arm (Y/N)'s barrage was very aggressive, leaving absolutely no openings. But Joey did manage to keep up.

"Hyahhhh!"

With an angry punch, (Y/N) struck Joey across his face, making him stumble back by only a little. However he stumbled right above a geyser, which went off and blasted the wolf faunus with scolding heat. Joey held his face in pain as he groaned to the heat but (Y/N) looked at him with a sigh.

Using this as an opening, (Y/N) moved around Joey and chopped a pressure point in his neck, knocking him unconscious.

"Damn it...." I muttered as I looked at Joey's unconscious body.

*sigh* I wish I could fight you some more but I need to repair my mask...

"Urgh!" I heard Numpty groan.

I glanced to my left just as Numpty fell to the ground a few feet away from me. He was clearly tired and he used his scythe to hold himself up as he huffed heavily. Then I glanced at Mercury, who looked incredibly annoyed as he glared at Numpty.

"How are you still up?! Just give up already!" Mercury groaned.

"Never! Me and my team have been training for weeks! Day and night! Weekdays and weekends! It was brutal! I even had to cut down on pancakes so I get better! Pancakes! My favorite food! It's like they were trying to kill me before we entered the tournament! But now I realize that everyone just wanted to give me a reward after we win! And maybe to give Ren breaking from cooking.... but mainly for the reward! So I'm going to hold up until-!"

I chopped the back of his neck.

"Such a chatty mortal...." I mumbled.

"If you could have done that five minutes ago, then that would be great." Mercury said.

"Was busy. Now come on before someone notices me." I told him before we quickly started heading out of the arena.

"Oh! With a spectacular battle both Silver and Mercury are victorious!" Doctor Oobleck announced.

As the crowd cheered from the amazing show they just witnessed, and as personnel went down to receive Joey and Numpty, many of the spectators questioned one thing; Doesn't Silver's semblance seem familiar?

"You're.... leaving?"

Weiss looked at her elder sister sadly from across a table in a elegant pavilion area.

Winter sets down a tea cup before answering her sister. "Yes. I was merely needed to oversee the transport of additional units in Vale. Our last shipment was lost to an ambush. I believe you had a run in with its cargo, actually. It's fortunate those Paladins were in the prototype stage; otherwise your team may not have fared so well."

Hearing this, Weiss sighs and looks down at her hands on the table, dejectedly. However, Winter grabs her sister's hand reassuringly.

"Weiss, you've done... well, out here, on your own. You should be proud." Winter tells her.

Weiss looks back up with a small smile. "Thank you Winter."

Winter smiles back before she notices the snowflake necklace around Weiss' neck. "In your letters you have always spoken about your leader but you didn't say anything about a suitor. Unless you've bought that yourself."

Weiss gasped a little as she looked down at her necklace.

"O-Oh... I... I've written to you about him...." Weiss managed to say as she clutched her necklace.

"(Y/N), am I correct?" Winter asked, getting a nod in response from Weiss. "You spoke very highly of him."

"Yeah.... he was a complete idiot... but he always was there when I needed him." Weiss said.

"My condolenc-"

"No no!" Weiss interuptted Winter. "He's not dead. He's just... missing."

"Oh...." A gentle silence settled between them. "Recently I met someone in Atlas. A... strange boy that fell from the sky. He was sarcastic and idiototic as that drunk, Qrow, but he would leap in when trouble happened without even thinking. Quite an admirable trait.... But there was an attack in Atlas and he was kidnapped. Now, his whereabouts are unknown to me." Another minute of silence was followed. "He said that you've met once before."

Weiss looked back at her sister. "Huh?"

"Yes. He said he met you and he seemed familiar with you."

"What was his name?"

"Silver Itzal."

"Wait. You mean the Silver that's competing in the tournament?" Weiss asked. "But I only met him yesterday."

Winter's eyes narrowed. "You say he's here?"

"Y-Yeah." Weiss stuttered, seeing her sister turn more serious.

Winter got up from her seat, and Weiss shortly followed suit.

"Do you know where his location is now?" Winter questioned.

"Most likely in his dorm." Weiss answered.

Winter quickly turned on her heel and crossed her arms behind her back before marching off.

"It was a pleasure spending time with you Weiss but I have some urgent business to attend to." Winter said sternly.

As Winter strutted off, Weiss just stood there as her sister left.

"You did well (Y/N)." Cinder smirked, leaning against a windowsill.

"Thanks, but I really wished I could have fought him longer." I sighed, before looking down at my tattered mask as I sat in an office chair. "But unfortunately I need this mask until the curtain falls."

I looked back up and looked at Mercury, who was laying on one of the beds as Emerald sat on the floor and did something on her scroll.

"But despite that, me and Mercury did well." I redirected my speech to said guy. "Will you be ready for "Break a leg"?"

"Yeah. It shouldn't be that hard." Mercury shrugged.

"Y'know, I can always find those robot dogs to help you practice screaming." Emerald smirked.

"Tch." He scoffed.

"Well everything is going straight to plan." I heard Cinder say. I turned my head back towards her as she strutted my way. "And soon, the power of the Fall Maiden shall be mine."

She stood in front of me and placed a warm hand on my cheek as she looked straight in my eyes.

"And then nothing will get in our way."

Knock knock knock!

Cinder glanced at Emerald, who nodded upon eye contact, and got up to answer the door. Cinder moved aside before I lowered my hood to cover more of my face.

"Yeah?" Emerald cracked open the door to answer the person.

"Official Atlas business. Is there a Silver Itzal in this dormitory?" The ever so familiar voice of Winter asked from the other side of the door.

"No, there isn't." Emerald said calmly.

"Then would you allow me to search the room?" Winter asked, but it sounded like a demand.

I glanced at Cinder and she nodded before entering the bathroom.

"Yes." Emerald opened the door more, allowing Winter in.

As soon as Winter entered the room, she scanned the room. Then when her eyes fell onto me, her eyes narrowed.

"Is there anyone else here?" Winter questioned.

"No. Our leader left a few hours ago." Emerald lied.

"Is this going to take long? I'm trying to sleep here." Mercury groaned.

"Not at all." Winter answered before she quickly pulled down my hood.

I stared at her and she stared back before her serious expression became more apologetic.

"My apologies. I thought you were someone else." Winter bowed before heading towards the door. "Sorry for any inconvenience."

"Yeah yeah yeah." Mercury shrugged as her turned over.

Once Winter left, I turned towards Emerald.

"Thanks for the help Em." I told her.

"Yeah, can't have you arrested, can we?" Emerald said.

As soon as I got up, there was another knock at the door. I sighed as I put back on my hood before glancing at Emerald, then I walked over to open the door.

Opening the door, I was face to face with scar eyed Schnee, Weiss. She didn't seem sure what she was going to say at first, but decided to speak anyways.

"Can I.... speak with you?" She asked.

I only nodded in response before stepping out the room and closing the door behind me.

"I know this may seem abrupt but... who are you?" Weiss questioned.

I pull down on my hood a little bit more. "I'm Silver. We met ye-"

"No." She interuptted. "Something about you... just seems off. Just... every time I hear you say something I feel like I've heard it before. When you had your mask it was muffled a bit, but now I can clearly hear something there."

Tch! Damn Schnee....

Hehehe... That's Weiss for you. How well is your plan going to go if someone like her found out who you are?

Unconsciously moved a few steps back.

"So can I just look under your hood? I would really clear things up." Weiss asked.

"No." I said bluntly, using as least words as possible.

"What? Why?!" She demanded.

"That's my business, Schnee."

I tried going back to the door but a glyph appeared on the doorknob, followed by a locking noise. I turned my head and glared at Weiss, who was now wielding her rapier.

"Sorry but my sister said that you spoke of me.... and with that voice I really need to know." Weiss said, her eyes narrowing at me.

"Fine." I raised my fists in a defensive stance.

Weiss scowled before she raised up her weapon and thrusted towards me in a small burst of speed. I only had to sidestep out the way for the blade to miss, but Weiss kept an nimble onslaught of jabs my way.

I kept dodging effortlessly before thrusted my palm into Weiss' stomach. I didn't use much strength in the attack but Weiss was launched back a few feet down the hallway and stabbed her rapier into the floor in order to stop herself. She huffed as got on one knee and held onto her weapon before getting back up with narrowed eyes. She took her sword from the ground before several glyphs appeared all around the hallway. From the floor, to several on the walls, with one glyph being directly underneath her.

She took on a stance before taking a running start with her rapier. As soon as she touched the glyph underneath her, she was launched to a glyph on the wall before quickly bouncing off onto another one, coming at me with a huge burst of speed. After several bounces, she was launched directly at me. With a hard jab she attacked, but I dodged by jumping out the way.

However, she just created another glyph underneath her causing her to bounce again. So she continued with bouncing around with attacks, forcing me to block. She bounced down from the ceiling with a high kick, which I blocked with my forearm. She backflipped off my arm onto her before she thrusted her sword at me. With a white gust off wind, my body was encased in ice, only leaving my head open.

"Not show me what you look like!" Weiss shouted, quickly reaching for my hood.

"No matter how well played that is, it's not enough Weiss! Haaaaaaa!" I shouted.

The ice surrounding my body started to crack making Weiss to stare in shock. A black outline formed around my head before the ice completely shattered. My semblance flared around me as I glared down at Weiss, as she shrunk in fear.

"I-It can't be!" Weiss stammered, but I paid it do mind as I slowly walked up to her.

She didn't even move. She just stared as I stood in front of her.

"You can't be...."

I raised my hand, ready to chop her shoulder.

"....(Y/-"

I brought down my hand to pressure point in her shoulder, making her fall to the ground, unconscious. But my eyes still widened.

Shit! How did she....!

Flashback, Several months ago

I charged back at Yang but my feet were froze to ground by Weiss. I tried pulling out my feet but it was too strong.

"Well played Weiss." (Y/N) said.

"Thanks!" Weiss smiled before encasing me in ice.

Back to now

Crap! I subconsciously brought up the memory!

MAYBE it was you.

.........I hate you.

A smile formed on my lips.

Silence was heard from within the Rwby dorm room. A few hours has past since Weiss' fight, and she could be found laying on her bed taking gentle breaths as she slept. But ever so slowly she stirred from her slumber until her eyes slowly blinked open. She sat upright as she rubbed her eyes and looked around her room. At this time it was very late at night, so her teammates were in a deep sleep.

She looked at her clothes to see that they were indeed her pajamas instead of her usual white dress. With a sigh, she let her head fall back on her pillow as she stared at the mattress above her.

"It was a dream Weiss...." She sighed. "Just a dream...."

"bark!" Kuma barked.

Weiss only glanced at the small Grimm to see him barking at the window. Weiss slightly got up from her bed and walked over to Kuma. She picked him up and then took him to bed with her. She hugged the canine Grimm as she started sniffing but Kuma kept a decisive glare at the window.

Unknown to Weiss her necklace was on the windowsill.... and a shadow jumped down from the tree in front of their window.....

Whew! Two fights in one chapter!

So, like I said recently, Volume 3 is pretty short time wise. So.... Volume 3 might be done in maybe 2 or 3 chapters from now. Why? Because Cinder and the gang only say a few things at the end of the episode so, yeah.

With that being said, I'm just going to skip a few episodes and head to where stuff gets real. Which means good ol (Y/N) is coming back!
