Nicole's POV

It has been only one day since Valerie and I had moved in with her brother, Mitch. I am totally crushing on him, it's going to be so hard not to freak out every time I see him. Also were gonna be going to the same school...I'm going to scream, not in a bad way...I guess.

--6:43 AM--

I had just woken up and Val was still asleep. I decided to go curl up my hair and put on my favorite outfit. I walked into the bathroom careful not to wake Valerie up. I plugged in the curling iron and then began to brush my hair. Despite me being super quiet Val had already woken herself up and Mitch as well.

"Hey sleepy head." I giggled.

"Five more minutes.." she grumbled beneath the heap of blankets she calls a bed.

"Val just get up, we're gonna be late because of you!" I ranted as I threw a pillow at the pile of blankets concealing her face.

"Fine!" she gave in.

Twenty minutes later all of us were out the door and heading to school. One of Mitch's friends called and invited him to walk to school so Val and I just walked together.

"Hey so can you tell me anything about Mitch so I can get closer to him?" I winked.

"Nicole, Nicole, Nicole trust me my brother is the average boy! I mean you and him would be perfect together!" she insisted.

"Are you sure? I'm not so positive he is gonna like-like me..Do you think he will like me?" I worried.

"Nicky please! Your smart, funny, and pretty! Any guy would fall for you, especially my brother! I bet he's already crushing on you!" she told me.

"Thanks, but seriously do you even know what your brother is like? I mean you haven't seen him in a while and he's probably changed somehow." I questioned.

"Nah I bet he is still the same old Mitch, you'll see." she said as she playfully punched my arm.

Jordan's POV

I was putting books back in my locker when I saw Mitch, I tapped his shoulder before he could pass me.

"Hey Mitch can I talk to you?" I asked.

"Sure." he agreed.

I led him back to my locker and than tried to figure out what I was going to say.

"Um can I ask you something?" I whispered.

"Yeah. Is something wrong?" he inquired.

"Actually yeah....I can't hang out with you anymore." I mumbled.

"Wait why?" he questioned.

"I've kinda been getting beat up alot," I rolled up my sleeve to reveal bruises and cuts.

He gasped.

"Oh I-I'm sorry....I didn't mean for anything to happen like this." he mourned.

"It's nothing just..I don't really think that I can take anymore."

This time I took off my red glasses and showed him my black eye.

He sighed and then said, "Jordan please, I really don't want you to get hurt but I really need some friends. I only have you and Jerome. I have had no friends almost all this year, please don't quit on me now." he whimpered almost crying.

"Mitch I want to but....I don't think I can." I told him.

He started to cry...He turned away and didn't look back.

I am a horrible person.

Valerie's POV

Third period in the day Nicole and I were finally getting used to our schedule. We found out that Mitch was in a little less than half of our classes, also his friend was in the other half. We also found out that Mitch was crying in all of his classes, he was not that good of hiding it.

I quickly ripped out a piece of paper from my copybook and then scribbled down what I had to say.

V = Valerie

M = Mitch

V - Hey Mitch why are you crying

M - Nothing Val just leave it alone...

V - C'mon I know when my brother is upset, especially since half of your clothes are soaked in tears.

M - Wanna know what's wrong! I have NO friends!

V - I thought you were so popular! Last time I saw you, you were with everyone! You got invited to parties and people's houses! What happened?

M - Things change okay! I'm not the same popular Mitch who had all the friends in the world! Leave me alone!

V - Alright I'm sorry. If you need to talk just let me know, I'm here for you Mitch. You'll always have me and Nicole.

M - Thanks but I don't think I want to go to sleepovers and have my nails get painted (:

V - Yeah yeah, you know you would want to :3

M - You're the best..you know that?

V - Yeah I already know that but it's nice to hear it. ^.^

M - Hey so anyways can we have that talk soon? I kinda need it...

V - I'm ready whenever

M - Thanks.
