Chapter 4
(Hey, um I think parts of this story would make more sense if it was semester 2 of the year. This doesn't really follow the Australian school system but more of what I think the American one does. But yeah it's semester 2 of year 11 for both characters. And I changed it from a Jimin fanfic to a Jung Kook one.)
It was the Monday of the second week of school. Jung Kook still had a bruise on the side of his face from were that guy hit him.
Jung Kook had learnt a lot over the last couple days. He learnt that the guy that hit him was Jay and he was one of the toughest and most popular people in school. His girlfriend was Lee Haneul (Sky in Korean. I don't know if that's right) but her friends called her Sky.
Jung Kook had also made a friend in his music class. A guy named Taehyung, he was a strange individual but at this point Jung Kook was glad to have a friend.
The day after getting hit the whole school found out about it. He was the most talked about person in school. The popular kids all gave him dirty looks whenever they saw him in the hall way.
"That looks a lot better today" Taehyung said as he found Jung Kook at his locker.
"Yeah it doesn't hurt as much" Jung Kook said touching the bruise lightly.
Before him and Taehyung could continue talking someone pushed Jung Kook into his locker, he hit the metal locker really hard. Taehyung stood shocked before helping Jung Kook up.
Jung Kook looked over at the people who had pushed him. It was Jay and a group of his friends. They didn't seem to care about what they just did.
"You okay?" Taehyung asked still in shock about what just happened.
"Yeah" Jung Kook said rubbing his shoulder that hit the locker.
---
It was third period and Jung Kook had maths, which meant he was going to have to sit next to Sky again. The teacher had told them they stay in the same seats for the rest of the semester.
'Great.'
Jung Kook had learnt from the first maths lesson to sit in the other seat. Sky smiled slightly when walking up to the table.
Jung Kook saw the smile but looked away. He didn't want any more trouble with her boyfriend.
Jung Kook focused on the maths lesson and again noticed Sky didn't. They had other lessons before this one and she also didn't do anything in those. The teacher didn't even bother to tell her to pay attention. The teacher seemed to know she wasn't going to do anything.
"Ah yes class" The teacher started as she finished explaining a problem. "I have to go to a meeting but you all should have enough work to do while I'm gone." She said then started gathering her things.
The students sat quietly as she left the room. After a moment of silence once she left everyone started talking to their friends and doing anything but maths work.
Jung Kook looked around, but went back to doing work. He didn't really know anyone in this class and felt no need to make friends with any of them.
After solving a problem he heard a soft voice from next to him.
"Wow you really are a nerd."
He turned his head to see Sky looking at his book. He was shocked and confused that she would say anything to him. He didn't know what to do next.
"Why don't you do something better with your time then solve maths equations?" Sky asked looking up at Jung Kook.
Jung Kook made eye contact with her but quickly looked away. He didn't want to get her boyfriend angry.
Sky smiled at him, she then looked away to continue drawing in her book.
Jung Kook thought for a second, he wanted to continue their small conversation. "I don't really have any friends in this class" he said still looking at his book.
Sky smiled. "Well if you didn't spend all your time doing maths maybe you would."
Jung Kook looked at her and saw the smile on her face. He smiled before looking away again.
Jung Kook was told that Sky and Jay started dating not too long before the winter holidays. Before they did Sky was a nobody. Taehyung couldn't tell Jung Kook why or how her and Jay started dating but it didn't really seem to matter.
Jung Kook had spent the past few days believing that Jay and Sky were both bad people but hearing her talk in maths Jung Kook could hear the kindness in her voice. Jay might have been a terrible person but Sky was defiantly not.
'How did someone like her get involved with someone like Jay?'
