Night 4
(A/N) This story now has over 1,000 views... or at least it did a short while after I wrote it, because now, it's almost reached 100,000!!!
Well then...
I have never thought in my life that this would be so popular so quickly. Thank you so much for reading my fanfic I honestly don't think I could thank you guys enough for your support.
Anyway, that's not why you are here, is it? Quick warning, this is going to be the only Night 4 chapter, and I personally think it's a little short and bland compared to the others, but I promise Night 5 is gonna get a lot better, and hopefully you find the ending climatic and not over or underwhelming.
One last thing; In my first A/N, I asked if I should make my sequel an eventual lemon story. So far, nobody has told me anything. I need to know before I write it, y'know. Update on this, I won't be continuing that story, for I have lost most of my motivation. I only really decided to give this one a rewrite to celebrate my 2-year anniversary here on Wattpad.
What better way than to (hopefully) improve my first, original story?
Anyway, enough of that! Enjoy Night 4!

The vast majority of Matthew's day had been spent in his bed, asleep and trying to recover from last night's shenanigans. A few times he had gotten up in order to use the bathroom, wincing with pain at every small movement that he had made. Just as he had predicted, the experience had left him quite sore and feeling battered. He didn't care too much, though, just as long as he had done his job and that the girls were safe. That was all he needed to know in order to keep himself moving.
Later in the day, he eventually forced himself to get out of the bed and have some dinner, quickly heating up a bowl of spicy instant noodles. He really needed some more nutrients and protein if he ever wanted to get back to normal. His meager meal was gone in a flash, so Matthew decided catch up in his book a bit more. It was really getting interesting now, and he was reading by the window, the sunlight illuminating the room and setting the mood. Matthew was in a nice, calm mood, knowing that he had the day off from work, so he would make sure to use it the best way that he possibly could:
After some more time reading, he closed all of the blinds and turned off the lights, before flopping back into bed. He didn't even change his clothes or pay anymind to his bandages, because once he made contact with his soft mattress, he was out instantly.
Meanwhile, back with the animatronics, things were not so relaxing. Throughout the day at the convention, none of the animatronics had any sort of clue as to what had happened to Matthew. During the day, they all did their usually tasks and shows for the customers, but could never get their minds off of Matthew standing up for them. No night guard here before him had cared for them as who they actually were, just the fact that they made really good sex toys. Some of the customers had noticed the slight change in behavior, but either stayed quiet about it or ignored it entirely. It didn't escape Mairusu's notice, but he was beyond caring. After all, he realized that they loved Matthew for being unique and hoped that he didn't give up his life, even if it was to defend them from danger.
Once it got dark and Mairusu had to leave and close up, the girls realized that their worst fears might have become a reality. Matthew had never showed up.
Mangle was hiding inside of her cove, looking like she was on the verge of tears the whole night, her savior was presumed dead. She would've actually been crying if she weren't a robot. Overall, she was absolutely miserable. The only thing left of Matthew that she had was the box of chocolates that he bought for her, but she didn't dare eat any of them. Mangle did not want to lose the only part of Matthew that remained here with her.
Some time into the night, Foxy came in, practically barreling right into the Kid's Cove. She would have refused the fact that she was sad from the thought of losing the nightguard, so she was just in a grumpy mood at the moment, fighting back from showing her own tears.
"Mangle, get over it already, would ya!? How many night guards have we gone through over the years? Even if this was the only one that had..." Foxy suddenly stopped, eyeing the chocolate box next to her tearful sister. "Where'd you get those, sis?"
Mangle finally stopped "crying" enough to choke out that Matthew had left them for her, but she could not bring herself to destroy the only piece of him remaining. Once she was done explaining, she went right back to sobbing. Foxy only nodded, then slowly walked out without anything else. The rest of the girls weren't doing much better than Mangle, and Foxy feared that if she had said something, anything at all, she would just end up hurting Mangle further, which was her greatest fear.
Trudging back into her cove and closing up the curtains, she curled up into a ball, her red tail sticking up behind her. She never wanted to admit it but, she missed Matthew greatly. He protected her sister when she had done nothing. Her own eyes started to form small tears, and no matter how hard she tried, she could not stop herself from letting them loose.
"Matthew..." Foxy whimpered softly, laying down and still curled up, "You were a gift to us, one we never appreciated until it was too late... Out of all of the possible things we could have lost, I wish it wasn't you..."
(A/N) Sorry if I give myself a little too much credit, this is an author insert story, but I am trying to imagine what would happen if I did the things I've done in this fanfic, because I would actually most likely do those same actions in real life. Also, the girls are made to be as human as possible, so that's why they're not murder machines. And I know, there's no Golden Freddy, apologies to everyone that wanted her. Finally, to clear something up; They're machines, and don't understand human anatomy, so they don't know that I'm currently healing from the other night, so they believe that I am no longer among the living. Which, of course, makes it that much more of a surprise...
