something, really
Mattie's POV
I woke up to an empty pile of blankets staring back at me along with a little bit of sunlight seeping in through the curtain of the nearby window. I didn't move. I just laid there too exhausted to move. I was so exhausted that it took a bit of work to figure out where I was. I only remembered because a flash if something absolutely sinful came to me. There was no way that was real. That was definitely just one of those embarrassing dreams that I had. I'm probably just in boxers under the blanket.
A quick check up the blanket proved me very wrong. To recap, I'm in Gilbert's house. I'm completely naked in Gilbert's house. I had sex with Gilbert last night in Gilbert's house. I think my brain's about to burst.
I need to tell someone about this. Al's out of the question and so is Lovi. Francis-absolutely not. Tino is my only option. Not really surprising.
I was about to get up and look for my phone but some voices scared me enough to stay in place. I looked around, flipping over carefully even. I was able to look into the kitchen from where I was and I saw a couple of feet so I could only guess that's where they were coming from. I listened in.
"Well, you two had fun."
"I can tell you're just boiling with Dad jokes right now."
"Don't ruin the fun, Gil."
"I'm too tired for this."
"That's your fault."
"I know but it doesn't make me any less exhausted. At least it's not a hangover though."
"Oh, so you weren't drunk?"
"Why would I be?"
"I don't know something about two teenagers in a house alone usually involves alcohol."
"I'm not you, Toni."
"I'm just living on the edge, Gil."
"Okay, how was Lovino's house?"
"Quite nice, actually, I got a lamp thrown at me."
"So much for making amends..."
"No, it all worked out in the end, I got a goodbye kiss and everything!"
"You're ridiculous."
"Not as ridiculous as your brother."
"What do you mean?"
"He literally clings to Feli like a leech, it's the scariest thing."
"No wonder he goes to Feli's house more now."
"Yeah I wouldn't want to see that in the house. I want to be able to hold down my food and digest it."
"You're so dramatic."
"And you aren't?"
"I may be dramatic but at least I'm subtle about it."
"Subtle? Don't make me laugh."
"Shutup."
"Seriously though, what are you going to do when he wakes up?"
"I have absolutely no idea."
"Are you scared?"
"Perhaps."
"Well, you better think up something quick." Toni walked into the living room with a grin on his face. His grin grew when he spotted me look at him. "He's all yours." He mouthed then went up stairs.
I should probably get some clothes on. Definitely.
I sat up. Bad idea. My lower back felt like I was being hit with a hammer. I hissed, trying to keep my voice down. I looked around in search of some clothes but didn't find any. I did find my phone about a foot away. I reached for it. Hissing again at the pain. I managed to grab it and I went back to my previous position. The pain becoming dull. It lit up and the time nearly made me jump. It's only ten in the morning. I thought it was later. When the hell did Gil wake up then?
My notifications were even more surprising. Way too many missed calls from Lovi, a text from Al, and a missed call from Tino. Look like I'm the center of attention all of a sudden.
Suddenly (and I mean very suddenly), I was hit in the face with clothes. It all fell to my lap and I found Gil looking down at me with a comforting smile.
"Your clothes were a bit of a mess so I put them in the wash. Let's hope those I picked out fit for now."
"Oh-uh-thanks."
"No problem. Bathroom's upstairs to the right."

Awkward wasn't the word for the atmosphere. I think tense would be a better word. It's hard to really talk about it. Because you see, sex, that's the easy part. It's a physical thing, an instinct.
The feelings that come with it are always the hard part. I would be happier with the situation if it were not for the fact that I can't ever sleep over people's houses anymore without fucking them apparently. Not that I didn't enjoy it, I loved it actually. The problem is putting anything into words because feelings are just a big tangled mess of things.
So, there we sat in silence, trying out best to avoid each other's line of sight. What really worried me was that this would end up like what happened Lovi. That Gil would grow distant and the topic would loom over our heads until it all came crashing down.
Man, I really don't think things through.
"It was fun." Gil said. "An... experience."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"So," I sighed. "are the scars the reason you always wear long sleeves?"
"Yep." He finally looked at me shyly. "You really were lying about the boiling tea spilling on you."
"Yeah." I giggled a bit. "I sometimes like to show it off as a result of saving a cat from a fire."
"Now that's smart."
"You could easily make stories out of yours, you know."
"I don't need to because the stories they do have are actually super cool."
"How so?"
"The long one on my arm-" He pulled up his sleeve and pointed at it. "It's from the time I got a bike stuck in a tree."
"What a way to pass the time."
"The one right to it was from the next where I moved the bike to a really talk fence."
"You'd have to be an absolute genius to do that."
"I am because I did it."
"I feel honored to know such a genius."
"You're probably the first."
"That makes me even more honored."
"You're really something, you know that?"
"Yeah, I know I'm a dumpster fire, what's your point?" I let out a strained chuckle. Man, I am incredibly bad at this.
"That's not what meant." He shook his head, a bit of amusement fading from his expression. "I've met a lot of different people but none like you. Not in the slightest."
"Oh."
"I probably sound crazy."
"Not at all." He raised a brow at me I'm question. "I get what you mean. And I'm honored to know that."
"You might as well be a Samurai with all the honor you hold."
"Doesn't that make me your protector?"
"Shit, you're right."
"Gay!" We heard from upstairs.
"Shut it, Toni!" Gil called back. We heard a laugh and then a door shutting.
"Is he always like that?"
"Unfortunately, yes." He sighed, sinking down further into the couch. He looked at the quiet TV in front of us.
"It's a sad life you live."
"I have to say the same to you, I mean, you have to live with Francis and Arthur which isn't a very fun pair at times."
"You don't need to tell me twice. They almost broke a chair a few days ago!"
"Guess we're both living sad lives."
"Guess so." I too sank deeper into the couch to get more comfortable and looked at TV.
"Hey, Matt." He said turning to at me.
"Yeah?" I questioned, turning to look at him. He cupped my cheek and leaned in. His lips clashed with mine in soft kiss. I sank into it after a second. It was slow and almost shy. Nothing at all from the feverish ones from last night. This was calm and comfortable and it messed with my heart.
We both pulled away. He grinned and I just couldn't help but smile.
