Gil's POV
Gil: hey francy
Francy: yes?
Gil: What's the name of that british guy that you're 'not' dating again?
Francy: Arthur, why?
Gil: smthing
"Ah, his name's Arthur." I looked back up to Matthew.
"Oh, that's my dad's name."
"What a coincidence."
"Can you imagine if they both knew each other?" He chuckled.
"Hell would break loose."
"Ask your friend more about the guy, maybe I could ask my dad about it."
"I'll ask him later, I think the bell is going to ring." I squinted at the time on my phone. The Bell was definitely going to ring any minute now. "Such a shame, really."
"Not really."
"Why do you say that?"
"It means we're closer and closer to the end of the day." Matthew smiled happily. It was cute. A type of smile I'd rarely ever seen. The type you see innocence in. Poetic but true. He seemed innocent with that smile. Probably because it was such a childish concept. A polarizing one to me but...
"True." I'm over thinking this, I know it. It's a simple thing he's talking about. It's my need for poetic justice, I suppose. I sound like a smart ass saying that but-
The bell rang. Scaring me a bit.
"So," He sighed as he stood up. "I'll see you in a few periods."
"Yeah." Was all I had to time to say. He went fast and with reason. His next period was all the way across the building.
Speaking of next period. What's mine again?

Francy: gil
Francy: come on explain!!!!
Gil: i was talking to someone about the British
Gil: turns out that this dude I met has a dad named Arthur too
Francy: oh god I hope they don't know each other
Toni:oh yes
Toni: that'd be a hell no one would want to face
Gil: okay but I have a conspiracy theory
Gil: what if they're actually the same person???
Francy: Im leaving.
Toni: idk that would give us a good reason to visit :)))))
I looked up from my phone and found myself alone at lunch. I'm not entirely sure why, this table was huge. Though I guess the cliques and all that could also be a reason for it. It's still a depressing reality.
It has me nostalgic for all those times me and Toni would throw carrots at each other and Francis and I playing Yu-Gi-Oh. Those days were fun until we got yelled atm for fooling around. That only made it funnier.
I never thought I'd say it but I guess I do miss something from home. I miss my friends. Maybe its because I don't have really any right now, maybe it's because the reality of leaving home is getting to me. I don't know but I miss them. They're like my family.
Gil: i wish you guys could visit
Toni: I bet we will
Francy: one of these days
One of these days. It's hopeful yet so vague. It sounds like what a mother would say to her kid when she can't afford a trip to Disneyland or something. One day could weeks or months or years.
I hate to sound like a desperate little kid but I need them now. I need my family. And yeah, I know I have Luddy but he's so much different now. So much farther away from my reach.
I'm sure Francis said that purposefully. He's mothering me as always and I always need it.
Toni's like his other kid.
I bet we will. Toni's too unsure as always. Naive but too much.
They're the same as always. No matter the year.
God, I miss them.
