Chapter 44 - Stuck
With all eyes on me, I took a deep breath in and out following it with a huge sigh. I watched as Roman's gaze flicked between me and Seth, wondering what we could possibly have to tell him. He looked a little hurt, probably because it came into view that I was more comfortable telling Seth something than I was telling my own boyfriend. Was I really protecting him from getting hurt by not telling him about Seth? I seemed to be hurting him enough as it was.
"Will you just spit it out?" Roman barked at me, making me flinch. What did Seth even want me to tell him? Was this meant to be about my bruise or the fact I was cheating on him? I looked over to Seth, who gestured to his back and then nodded in Roman's direction. I sighed once more.
"The spear that you did..." I could barely even carry on the sentence as I wondered what thoughts were going through his head. "I didn't land properly and I bruised my back."
"So?" Roman spat, but I knew he didn't mean it how it came out. I could tell by his body language that he meant 'Why did Seth need to storm over here and shout at me because you have a bruise?'.
"So?" Seth repeated in disbelief. "It runs across the whole of her lower back and you're saying so?" He threw his hands up in the air. "Why were you doing a spear with that much power behind it?" Roman's face scrunched up in anger and his body tensed.
"What did you say?" He said through gritted teeth, he was staring daggers at Seth.
"I said why were you doing a spear-"
"Before that." Roman said, his nostrils flaring as he remained in an angered state. Seth thought back to what he had said, and even I was trying to work out what had annoyed Roman so much.
"Umm..." Seth desperately tried to remember.
"You said you saw it." My stomach dropped. We'd been caught out. Seth's head snapped back up to Roman as he stormed towards him, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt in his hands. "How did you see it?" Roman barked at Seth, pulling him closer by his shirt. "Huh?" I needed to give Seth and I a minute to think up a good excuse. I walked up to Roman and put my hand on his arm.
"Let go of him!" I ordered, trying to pry his hands away.
"Not until I get an answer!" He hissed at me but it was like a lightbulb went off in my mind. I had an idea.
"He was helping me zip up my dress!" I said, grabbing his hands and pulling them from Seth's shirt. Seth took a few steps back and brushed himself down. "Okay, Roman?"
"W-Why?" He looked taken aback. I turned round.
"Look how long the zip is. I can't contort my body just yet. There was a knock at the door, I thought it was you but it was Seth and I asked him to zip up my dress because I'd got it caught and it wouldn't move any higher." I lied fluently without any remorse. This was getting easier every minute.
"Exactly." Seth piped in. "But thanks for jumping to your own conclusions." Seth looked away from him, acting hurt.
"I'm sorry." Roman sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "This storyline has messed with my head."
"Tell you what, let me buy the next round and we can pretend it never happened." Seth smiled, walking over to Roman and putting his arm round him. "You've got a good girl here, Roman, don't ruin it." Seth gestured for me to come over too and we had a group hug.
"Luce, can you help me walk the drinks over?" Seth asked and I looked at Roman for approval. He nodded his head so I nodded mine. Seth walked ahead of me to the bar.
"I love you." Roman said to me, pulling me in for a last hug and kiss.
"I love you too." I said easily, trying not to think about how earlier today I'd made out with Seth without a care in the world. "Let me get those drinks." I giggled and turned to walk to the bar, but for some reason I wasn't moving as easily. With one swift, strong movement, I finally moved freely but heard a huge rip. I looked down at my dress and the knee length slit in my dress was now up to the top of my thigh.
"I'm so sorry!" Roman said, stepping off one end of my dress. "I didn't realise I was on it!" I let out a laugh. I'd just had a brand new dress ripped and I'd only been wearing it for a few hours. "It still looks good on you, just racier." He winked and I tutted, walking over to the bar.
"Where the hell have you been?" Seth laughed. "I thought you'd got lost." I rolled my eyes.
"Look at what Roman did to my dress!" I turned to the left side and stuck my leg out slightly so he could see the knee length slit was no longer knee-length. "He stood on my dress and it ripped." I laughed. I looked at Seth and how his eyes were once again taking every inch of me in and my laugh slowly died off.
"It just makes you look sexier." Seth smirked, going to put an arm round me but I slapped it away. He looked shocked at my actions, but quickly masked it. "Sorry." He mumbled as he handed me two drinks and I walked ahead of him and handed Roman his drink.
"Thanks babe." Roman put his arm around me and kissed my cheek.
"Hey, you know what we should do after this party?" I said, my face lighting up because my joke was going to be too funny and I already knew I was a comedic genius.
"Find Rollins a girlfriend?" Roman said. I choked on the drink I'd just sipped and looked away from Seth as he gave Roman evils. What was with these two? Did they want to fight each other?
"I was going to say 'Truth or Dare' in the hotel room again." I said, bursting into a fit of laughter.
"Good idea!" Seth said but I knew the tone he said it in meant it wasn't a genuine congratulatory remark. "We can watch Roman leave you in the hotel room again." His snide comment caused me and Roman to both stare at him, shocked. He must be drunk, there was no way Seth would try and cause this much friction otherwise.
"Well, at least this girl wants to kiss me and be with me." Roman retorted back. "Not because it's in a storyline like she had to do with you."
"Really?" Seth said with a horribly evil smile. "Are you sure about that?"
