Chapter 9: My Fav Color!

Im an idiot, I know!

Here I was, at 8 o'clock at night, getting ready to meet 5 strange guys in a parking lot.

5 strange guys who are known for being dangerous.

I told my mom I was going to explore some more of the city with a friend from school and she said be home by 11....I was hoping she'd say no....

I didn't know what to think. Should I be scared? Should I tell Gabby to come with me? Would she even? Would Sarah?

I walk to the conjoined bathroom and knock on the door leading to Sarah's room.

"Yeah?" I hear her shout through the door.

I crack open the door and poke my head through.

"You busy?" I ask.
She shakes her head no and I walk further in, closing the door behind me.

"You mind coming with me? I just...I don't want to be alone." I say. Sarah looks at me confused and puts down her phone.

"I thought you told mom you were going out with a friend?" She asks. I nod.

"I did, and technically its true, but its not just one person...its 5 and they're all guys and now that I'm saying it out loud its sounds bad, just come with me!" I say anxious, hopping she'll say yes.

"Are you talking about those guys from today?" She asks shocked. I nod.

"They're like...the bad guys right? You sure its safe?" She asks and I frown.

"No!" I say with a groan.

"But....Ethan is just....so....I dont know!" I try to explain.

"I dont want to go, but I dont want you going by yourself....so when are we leaving?" She says and I just about shout! Yes! I smile and hug her.

"Thanks! And we have to meet them there at 9 so I want to be leaving out at 8:35 its 8:10 now get ready!" I Shout hurriedly and she hops off the bed.

We are now parked in the parking lot of the Mall, it was almost empty. I frown when I realize that Im actually here.

"What car are they driving?" Sarah asks and I groan.

"I dont even know." I say irritated.

Sarah rolls her eyes and pulls out her phone, looking at the time.

"Well it's 8:58 so I guess they have 2 minutes...oh! Now 1." She says and I roll my eyes. Shes impatient, always has been.

"Yeah, I dont know when they'll be...." My sentence is cut off by the sound of my phone ringing. I sigh and look down, its an unknown number.

I answer it and I hear a sigh.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey, its Ethan...where are you?" He says. I flinch back at the name and Sarah looks at me like Im crazy. I just shrug at her and respond.

"In the parking lot like you asked, how did you get my number?" I ask.

"What car are you driving?" He asks, completely ignoring my question. I roll my eyes as if he could see and sigh.

"A black BMW, its an SUV." I say. Right when I do, I see a red Challenger pull up in front of me, headlights almost blinding me, but I see a familiar face holding a phone to his ear...Ethan. With Ethan is a bunch of sad faced boys and when I finally read Ethan's face he looks pissed.

"Who's that?" He asks, eyeballs glued on Sarah. Sarah was still looking at he phone.

"Sarah, my sister." I say. Ethan groans and puts his head back looking annoyed. I roll my eyes and hang up, getting out of the car and slamming my door. I knock on his window and he looks up at me. He rolls it down and stares blankly.

"Why did you bring your sister?" He asks giving me the 'you're an idiot look'. News flash! I already know I'm an idiot, Im here!

"You never said I couldn't, and I didnt exactly feel comfortable with meeting up with a bunch of strangers in the middle of the night all by myself." I say. He rolls his eyes and gets out the car.

"Whatever, how small is your sister?" He asks. I frown at him in confusion. Why would he want to know that?

He sighs and walks to my car, opening the passenger door and scaring the crap out of Sarah.

"Ummm, Hello." Sarah says looking confused as to why his just standing there.

"Mind getting up for a bit?" He asks. Sarah looks at him wearily but stands. He instantly smiles and interlocks arms with her.

"You mind helping your sister out with a favor?" He asks and Sarah frowns.

"What favor?" She asks, looking skeptical and so do I.

"Im glad you asked that. You see that building over there?" He asks pointing to a small business across the street with a closed sign flashing. Sarah nods.

"Well, that building has something that belongs to us, and we're not allowed back in, but we're too big to sneak in." He says and Sarah and I both gasp.

I immediately snatch Sarah away from him and hold her defensively behind me.

"No! Absolutely not!" I say. I am 100 percent baffled right now.

"Oh come on Sammy! There are no alarms, no security patrolling, we aren't't asking you to steal! Its our shit! They just wont give it back." He explains.

"How am I supposed to know your telling the truth? And plus its still breaking and entering, premeditated at that!" I say.

Ethan sighs and walks closer to me. I push Sarah back a little and back up.

"I'll make sure nothing happens to you and as far as me telling the truth, I can't give you anything but my word." He says. I sigh and look back at Sarah. She shrugs. I look over at his sad friends in the car and they give me hopeful looks. I sigh and look down at my feet.

"Before I make any decision...tell my why you guys are banned from going in there." I say.

Ethan groans and looks at the guys.

"Look, Justin over there.." he says pointing to sad boy number one.

"worked there and used to let us sit our belongings behind the counter while we hung out at the mall, but one day when we came back in to get it, Some guys were giving Justin a hard time, so we helped him out and the manager kicked us out and they wouldnt let us back in. Not even Justin. Our stuff is still there." He explains. I look at him skeptically and then look at Sarah for conformation.

She looks like shes thinking.

"We'll do it." She says and I frown.

"But...what do we get out of it?" She asks. I didnt think of that.

"And don't say money, we have plenty of that." She says and I frown. How humble of you sis.

"Well, whats better to offer than money?" Ethan asks confused.

"Food!" I blurt out and Ethan steps back a little in shock from my sudden loudness. Sarah breaks off in a huge grin.

"Agreed!" She says and we high five. Ethan looks at us and smirks.

"Okay girls, if you can get my shit back, I'll buy you a damned restaurant!" He says. We smile and nod our heads.

Technically I am breaking and entering, but I believe its for a good cause. Hopefully it goes okay.
