Chapter 36- Mission Impossible

"It's close to that time." Gabbie says and I raise my eyebrow at her as I put my books in my locker.

"Close to what time?" I ask and her eyes go wide.

"Decision Day, What colleges have you applied for?" She asks and I sigh.

I close my locker and look at her.

"I haven't." I say casually and start to walk to P.E.

"Uhm....WHAT!?" She asks with exasperation.

"I haven't applied to any colleges." I say and Gabbie slams her hand on her face, one of the most dramatic face palms I've ever seen.

"Samantha Leann Taylor! You have the privileges of getting into almost any school you want to and you haven't even applied? You can get in with your grades and your sports and you also have the money for it and you still don't want to? There are kids out here struggling to make ends meet to even afford the application fees for colleges." Gabbie says and I sigh.

"Okay, okay, look, I know that I have it easier than others. No need to point out my white privileged okay I'm just not so sure if I want to go. I've been looking into it and the money my parents put away for me to go to college can just be turned into a grant for some other kid here, who has been struggling." I say and Gabbie rolls her eyes.

"It's not white privileged it's rich privileged, I have just the same privileges as you and that's exactly why I'm using them. I'm not staying in this city, I've been here my whole life, I got early acceptance to UPenn and I only have 1 credit left, I'm graduating early Sam. I don't want to leave you here rotting in your room with no life. You have the money, have a college experience." She says and I sigh.

"I'm just not into change okay? I hate it. I'm happy where I am. College is too much everything is different." I say and Gabbie sighs.

"Then just move to Pennsylvania with me, we can be roommates, and you can find something to do there while I do college. Just.... think about it. Michelle won't be far, she's going to U of M, it'll be amazing!" Gabbie says and I sigh.

"I'll think about it." I say and Gabbie smiles from ear to ear.

"Awesome! Now let's go hit some freshmen with dodgeballs."
She says and pulls my arm to the locker room.

  "And then she said we should move in together... IN PENNSYLVANIA!" I vent to Ethan.

   The thought of moving again terrified me honestly.

    "Pennsylvania? She wants to move across the freaking country?" He asks in surprise and I nod my head.

" Well I mean, UPenn is an amazing school though." He says and I roll my eyes.

"I've already been all over that side of the country and I'm done with it. Plus...my Ex's big sister lives in Pennsylvania. I don't want to even think about running into her." I say and puff my cheeks trying to not even think about it.

"So why didn't you just tell her no? It had to be some part of you that wanted to go, right?" He asks with his eyebrows raised at me.

   "No! I mean, living with my bestfriend sounds fun and what not, but leaving here. Leaving you? It doesn't sound fun at all." I say and Ethan sighs.

   "Sammy, you can't think about me when making decisions about your future." He says and I roll my eyes.

   "Of course I can, you're my boyfriend, stupid! I'm not doing the long distance crap. If I leave, you're coming with me." I say and he smiles.

  He walks to me and puts his hands on my waist, looking down at me.

   "Aww would you miss me?" He says in a condescending baby voice and I roll my eyes but can't help but chuckle a bit.

   I swat at his shoulder for making me laugh when I was trying to be annoyed and then put my forehead on his chest, giving up, and letting my chuckles free.

    "Yes, I would miss you... a lot. See, Gabbie and I have done the long distance thing, that's how we met. It makes us stronger, but I don't do with Gabbie, what I do with you. I don't cuddle with Gabbie, I don't kiss Gabbie, I don't just sit down for hours staring into Gabbie's eyes and melting just knowing that she's mine. I do that with you and being away from you would literally tear me into shreds." I say and Ethan smiles.

   "Wow.... that was.... SAPPY AS HELL!" He says and runs in my bathroom slamming the door, to avoid the pillow that was about to get aggressively thrown at his face.

   "Sorry the door is closed, I know you enjoy staring into my eyes, melting just knowing I'm yours." He says mockingly and I roll my eyes again.

   "You are such an asshole." I say and Ethan chuckles from the other side of the door.

   He slowly opens it and before I can throw the pillow, he jumps on top of me as we crash onto the floor.

    "I hate you." I say in a grunt as his body weight crushes me.

   " I hate you more." He says and attacks me with kisses.

   "No! Stop! You imbecile! Yoooou, Ass face! Yooouu big ugly squirrel!" I try to insult....i-it was just kinda embarrassing.

   He suddenly stops his kisses and looks down at me.

   "Squirrels....are not ugly." He says and attacks me with his lips once more.

Now he kisses my neck and that crap ticklessss so I couldn't stop laughing.

  Despite my protests he wouldn't stop, until the bedroom door opened and in walked my father. A brief case and blazer in hand.

   Ethan immediately freezes not even being able to get off of me, just frozen in fear and so was I.

   "I'm not even going to ask." My dad said and finally Ethan got off me and I quickly stood to my feet facing him.

   "Your brother, Seth, is grounded for life. I caught him trying to hack into the city's camera footage! I thought your mom and I took away his industrial strength laptop a while ago, turns out he stole it back. I asked him why, and he said he was just trying to see who stole his friends bike! Can you believe that? The kid lies straight to my face." My dad says with a scoff and rolls his eyes.

   "Well, w-what do you think he wanted it for?" I ask and he sighs.

   "I think he was just bored and felt likes disobeying me, FOR THE LAST TIME at that. He is grounded until college!" My dad says and I sigh, about to tell on myself to get Seth out of trouble... until.

   "And you know what? I thought the cupboard under the health magazines was a good hiding space, but now, I'll just put it into storage." He says and my eyes light up.

"You know what dad? You're only here for a couple of days, mom misses you, I'll take it to the storage room." I say and he smiles.

"Really? Oh you're the sweetest! Thanks honey." He says and pulls the laptop out of his brief case and hands it to me.

I smile as he kisses my forehead and heads towards the door only to turn around.

"Also, I'm not looking to having any grandkids anytime soon, so whatever you guys were just doing....use protection." My dad says with a look of disgust on his face as he leaves the room.

Ethan and I stare at the door frame where he previously stood, wide eyed for a few moments before laughing our guts out.

Seth sat on the couch of the den looking defeated as my dad sat in the next room watching him. I tiptoed to the door of the Den and tried to get Seth's attention without causing my dads attention, but it was hard. My dad was watching him like a hawk.

Ethan was behind me and I had an idea.

"Hey Ethan, I think you should bond with my dad." I say and he raises his eyebrows at me and I roll my eyes.

"Just... go talk to him for like 30 seconds." I say and push him towards the dining room.

Ethan stumbles for a second, but wake up to my father.

They start talking and I quickly grab Seth's arm and drag him to the hallway.

"Hey sad sack, we're going on a field trip put on some shoes." I say and Seth looks confused but goes to put on shoes anyway.

   "Ethan! Your phones ringing!" I yell. I hear him excuse himself and walk to me with a confused face.

   "Where's my phone?" He asks. I roll my eyes and shove him to the door.

   "Let's go." I say with anticipation as Ethan, Seth, and I all jog to the garage.

   Once we're in the car and down the street, I reveal my plan.

   "So, we're going to go to the storage unit, and sit and there and finish this hacking job. I need Michelle back, okay? She's going insane and the only way to help her is with that camera footage." I say and Seth nods.

   "Dad has an old desk in there you could work at, you don't anyone could catch us do you?" I ask. Seth smirks.

   "No, I've already got that handled. I created a small decoy software to protect the firewalls of my project, the only way someone would even think I'm hacking into the system is if they're a hacker themselves and I don't think they would care to stop me if they were." He says and I blink at him.

   "You lost me at software, but you sound confident, so that's all that matters." I say and Seth and Ethan chuckle.

   "You know, this is crazy right?" Ethan says and we all nod.

   "Is your life always this interesting?" He asks and I glance at him for a second.

  Is he kidding? My life only became this adventurous when I met him and Gabbie and Michelle.

Let's see:

I broke into a store
I dated two guys at once
I followed a drug deal
I got chased by cops
I'm now helping my brother commit a felony.

.... I'm literally a criminal.

    "Oh my God, you both turned me into a criminal!"I say to them and they don't say anything and then I see Ethan go wide eyed.

   I then turn to Seth who is frowning at Ethan.

   "What does she mean by that?" He asks Ethan looking angry and skeptical.

I could literally die right now, I just told on myself and Ethan.

   "He made me run a couple red lights." I say quickly and Ethan furrows his eyebrows at me but then nods.

   "Yeah....those stupid things! They're ruining America...and Michelle apparently." Ethan says awkwardly.

    "Yep." I agree and close my eyes tight just for a second, as I realize we are approaching a red light with no one around.

   I actually never run red lights, that's so dangerous and selfish, anything could happen.

   I lower my eyelids, in disappointment of myself as I quickly go through it. With an awkward chuckle, I look back at Seth.

I know he doesn't buy anything we just freaking sold but he stays quiet.

   "Your quite the bad girl." He says and rolls his eyes.

   I stop at the next red light, sulking in my brothers sarcasm.

   I didn't think this through.

   My brother, Ethan and I were going to be locked in a dusty storage room, for a couple of hours together.
