(Y/n) POV

      Jimmy flies as fast as the Tortuga can in it's present condition, but we finally make it to a small grove of trees and bushes on the African Savannah. As Jimmy hovers over Chris' position, I see Martin trying to get his Creature Power Suit on.

(Y/n): No! WAIT-!

Martin: *electrocuted* Ahhh!

     Martin drops his vest and I realize something.

Martin: What was that?!

(Y/n): I think the perps don't want you or Chris getting involved to make this go slower. Just tell me where we're landing, Martin tell me what serpents are there.

Martin: You've got it.

Koki: I've got Chris' Creature Pod signal.

Jimmy: Good thing these poachers don't sweat the small stuff.

(Y/n): Or they're using the signals to track our movements.

Jimmy: We're landing on the savannahs of Africa.

     We land and Martin follows me out to the snake pit.

Chris: Martin! (Y/n)! Oh thank goodness you made it. This rope is close to snapping.

(Y/n): Don't worry, I'll get you out of this. Martin, I don't think I've seen these kinds of snakes before.

Martin: Hmm, well, there seems to be multiple species here but predominantly there are a lot of Puff Adders here, as well as a few Egyptian Cobra-

(Y/n): And one Black Mamba.

      The Black Mamba is a whopping 11 ft long, it raises it's front third uo and sees us and mock charges Martin and I, it was more than enough to make us back off.

Martin: Great. How are we gonna free Chris?

*long grass rustles*

Martin and I look behind us and see-

Martin: Tough-o, the honey badger!

(Y/n): Perfect. *touches Tough-o* Activate Creature Powers!

The Honey Badger power suit forms but is a little glitchy, but it eventually straightens out and I get a running start. I dash forward and jump just as the old rope snaps and catch Chris and get him out of the way.

Chris: *as he gets out of the net* Whew. Thanks for the save, I think I've had my fill of snakes for one day.

Martin: *hugs his brother* Good to have you back.

(Y/n): Come on, we still have to rescue Aviva. *deactivates suits*

We reboard the Tortuga and Jimmy flies faster than he's gone yet on this trip thanks to Koki. We reach the river Aviva's trapped in just minutes.

Martin: Oh man, I love hippos but that is way too many for me at once.

Chris: How are we going to get Aviva out of there? Hippos are the most dangerous animals in Africa.

(Y/n): Jimmy, land us near the shore. Koki, can you open communications to Aviva's Creature Pod?

Koki: On it. *contacts Creature Pod* Aviva, do you read? Come in. *groans* Nothing.

(Y/n): Great. Guess we do this the hard way.

      I walk a bit further up river and find just who I'm looking for.

(Y/n): Crocodilla.

     I sneak up to her and touch her tail.

(Y/n): Activate Creature Powers!

      The croc suit forms and after Crocodilla struck at me for being too close, I start swimming towards the pod of hippos. I slow down significantly so I can pass between the hippos legs without arousing suspiscion I finally reach Aviva's cage and see chain attached to keep the cage in place. I try and somehow manage to do so but this alerts the hippos and I am quick to grab the chain and pull it out from the middle of the pod, as the hippos start moving around, and hoof it to shore. I finally get Aviva pulled to shore manage to break the lock.

Aviva: *as she gets out* (Y/n)! Thank goodness you got here just in time. I wasn't sure if you were captured too or- *gasp* Look out!

    I look behind me and the boss hippo grabs me by the croc tail and drags me back into the water, I start getting pummeled by all the hippos until I get launched by the big bull and land hard on the shore as the suit fails.

Aviva: (Y/n), are you alright?!

(Y/n): *groans* Ow.

Aviva: Where's the Tortuga?

(Y/n): A little further inland, ugh, that one hurt, a lot.

Aviva: *gets me to my feet* Come on, we need to get back.

(Y/n): Yeah, still poachers we need to catch.

Aviva: Poachers? Is that what this was all about?

(Y/n): *grunts in pain* Get us out of the way to go after animals without interferance.

     Aviva gets me to the ship and as soon as I hit the med bed, I collapse from exhaustion and unwittingly fall asleep.

Aviva POV

     I get (Y/n) set up at the Medbay and head up to the main quarters.

Jimmy: How's the big guy?

Aviva: He's just really tired and only sustained severe bruises from the hippo attack.

Martin: Man, we could use his help still. We don't know who the mystery poacher was and what he's after.

Chris: We can't let those poor animals die, but I don't know how.

Koki: I haven't been able to get anything new from the video the poacher called from.

Aviva: (Y/n) wouldn't give up and neither will we. Koki, can you scrub the video and isolate the voice of the poacher?

Koki: Yeah. I can tell you though that the voice is not the man's real voice, so I'll try and clean it up.

     I knew (Y/n) was a little more private than he let on when he joined the crew, but if he knew anything about this, it might be hidden in his belongings. I go to his little corner and look over the pictures on the wall first, but they're all pictures of him with various animals he's helped and rescued over the years. I go through the rest of his things and almost give up when I see a zipper inside his hiking pack, it looks like it was stitched in manually. I manage to open the pocket and pull out another photo, this one though was of (Y/n) in military gear alongside another man in the same attire but a bit older than (Y/n).

Aviva: This must be important. But why?

(Y/n): That is my mentor.

Aviva: *turns around surprised* (Y/n)?! *hits head on railing* Ow! What do you mean. You were in the military?

(Y/n): For a little while. *sits in hammock* I was fresh out of basic training when I was transferred over to the anti-poaching unit. Clayton was my commanding officer, we would travel the world training locals to fight back against poaching or taking down poachers ourselves.

Aviva: I suspect there's a 'but' in there.

(Y/n): But, Clayton had been secretly paid off to allow some elephants to be culled for "population control" but really they just wanted access to the tusks and make money.

Aviva: *disbelief* That's aweful.

(Y/n): I found out about too late to save the herd and when I did, Clayton tried to silence me, forever. He shot first and missed, *looks at his side* mostly, I didn't.

Aviva: You killed him?

(Y/n): I thought I did, but that voice in the video I recognized his speech pattern and Jimmy told me these guys knew me. My only guess is, Clayton survived and now wants revenge.

Aviva: But we foiled his plan didn't we?

(Y/n): No, Clayton kidnapping and setting traps for you was just a distraction so I wouldn't get in the way of his real prize.

Aviva: When I was being put in the cage, some of them talked about a really big prize that the boss has been after for years. I never heard specifics.

(Y/n): *realization* Oh no.

Aviva: What? What did I say?

(Y/n): The sight of our last successful operation. We were in the Congo near a canyon in the forest called Tembo Valley.

Aviva: Tembo Valley?

(Y/n): Once a year, during a solar eclipse, hundreds, if not thousands, of Forest Elephants gather in this one place.

Aviva: Do you think that could be their target?

(Y/n): It has to be.

Aviva: Why didn't you say anything to us earlier, to me?

(Y/n): I was betrayed by a teammate I considered a brother. Why do you think?

Aviva: I'm not like Clayton, I'm an inventor and create things to better protect and study animals. You could've trusted me.

(Y/n): ..... I will now. We need to get to Tembo Valley now.

Aviva: Right. *stands and walks to group* Koki, when's the next solar eclipse?

Koki: Let me see....

Martin: Why do we need to know about a solar eclipse?

(Y/n): That's when the poachers are going to strike a large gathering of elephants.

Chris: Oh no!

Koki: Got it. The next solar eclipse is in just 6 hours!

Aviva: Jimmy! Plot a course to Tembo Valley in the Congo rainforest.

Jimmy: Emergency take off protocols engaged?

Aviva: Yes, we've got creatures to rescue.

Jimmy: Aye, aye, captain.

Aviva: Chris, contact local authorities that poachers are in the vicinity and looking for trouble.

Chris: Got it.

Martin: What about us? *indicating (Y/n) and himself*

Aviva: Salvage rescue gear, and I'll get to work on fixing (Y/n)'s Creature Power Suit.

(Y/n): Let's do this, together.

I smile and nod at (Y/n) as he now is putting his trust in us, I just hope we can make good on that good faith.

3rd Person POV

4 hours later, the crew make it to the Congo.

Chris: I've told authorities what's going on but they can't mobilize fast enough to get there after the eclipse.

Koki: *calls over intercom* (Y/n), I've spotted Tembo Valley, you're gonna want to see this.

     (Y/n) walks from the cargo bay to the main operations center.

(Y/n): What is it Koki?

Koki: Look near the mouth of the canyon.

      Everyone takes a moment to look as literally thousands of African Forest Elephants start emerging from the forest.

Aviva: Wow! There's so many of them.

Koki: Why do they all gather here during a solar eclipse?

(Y/n): Nobody knows. Scientists have been trying to figure it out for years.

Aviva: Uh-oh. Guys, there's something going on in the canyon you need to see.

     Aviva brings up footage from further in the canyon and they all see something a bit worrying.

Chris: Is that a fence going across the canyon?

Martin: Even that fence won't stop a large grouo of elephant's like that.

(Y/n): Unless.... *looks at Aviva*

Aviva: That fence has enough electricity running through it to kill any elephant that touches it.

Chris: Oh man.

Koki: But even then, the elephants need to see one touch it and the others will steer clear, right?

(Y/n): Hmm, *grabs binoculars* Let me check something.

      Aviva follows (Y/n) to the cargo bay, (Y/n) opens the main hatch and takes a look until he finds what he's looking for.

(Y/n): Oh no. The poachers are setting up explosives. The monsters are going to frighten the elephants and make them stampede into the fence and those that aren't electrified will be shot.

Aviva: Oh no! What are we gonna do?

(Y/n): Is my Creature Power suit fixed?

Aviva: No, it took a lot of damage from the hippo attack.

(Y/n): Darn. *calls over intercom* Jimmy get me to the head of the canyon now!

Jimmy: On it!

Aviva: But without your suit, your defenseless! Please, let's just think about this!

(Y/n): I need you and the crew to stop the poachers from setting off the explosives.

Aviva: How?!

(Y/n): You're the brilliant one, figure it out.

     Out of instinct, Aviva wraps (Y/n) in a hug, confused at first (Y/n) returns the hug. When they seperate, (Y/n) shoots Aviva a wink before letting down a line to the ground and sliding down.

Aviva: Go get them Wild Kratt. *calls over Intercom* Bros, get ready to deploy, we need to disable those explosives!

     Meanwhile, after (Y/n) hits the ground near the edge of the canyon, he signals the Tortuga that he's on the ground. The Tortuga takes off and (Y/n) makes his way towards the elephants to try and get them to turn around or at least stop them from entering the canyon. When he nears the herd, (Y/n) is in awe of the number of elephants that are gathered here, suddenly, (Y/n) hears a helicopter and ducks under the largest elephant he can find to avoid being seen. Clayton is in said helicopter and watching and giving orders.

Clayton: Everyone take your places, this entire operation must happen within 7 minutes, understood!

     (Y/n) is surprised that the elephant he is under is letting him hide underneath, as soon as the helicopter flies further up the canyon, (Y/n) comes out and climbs a large rock that allows him to overlook the herd and he is further behind than he thought.

(Y/n): Okay, I need to get to the front, but how to do that without spooking the elephants.

      (Y/n) then gets an idea and hops onto the back of the nearest adult elephant, but before he can get any further-

Clayton: *talks into walkie talkie* Set off the first round of explosives, now!

     Fortunately, Martin and Chris are there and cut the wires before the poachers can trigger them.

Poacher1: *over radio* The wire has been cut.

Clayton: Set off the second round!

      Aviva didn't see the other crews of poachers and the explosives blow and startle the elephants. The elephant (Y/n) is on rears up in surprise and starts panicking with the rest the whole herd starts stampeding towards the fence, causing (Y/n) to lose his grip and fall to the ground. He avoids being crushed and grabs the next elephant that passes by and climbs up onto it's back. He see the fence coming into view and starts hopping from elephant to elephant until he finally makes it to the Matriarch and now has a new problem.

(Y/n): How do you get hundreds of tons of elephants to stop stampeding?

     (Y/n) then grabs his military dog tags and rips them off with the chain and tosses them as hard as he can at the fence. The tags hit the fence and cause electricity to spark and this stops the lead elephant in her tracks,

(Y/n):*hopeful* Please stop.

this in turn stops the other elephants as they too see the electricity.

(Y/n): Yes, it worked!

*EXPLOSION*

(Y/n): Ah, come on!

*EXPLOSIONS*

The elephants, minus the matriarch, starts stampeding again, (Y/n) thinks then gets an idea.

(Y/n): Let's hope Hollywood was right.

     (Y/n) taps his foot against the back of the matriarch's right ear, surprisingly she responded and let out a very loud bellow/trumpet causing the other elephant's to stop, then every elephant turns around and starts heading back.

(Y/n): Yes! Okay, let's get out of here old girl.

Matriarch: *trumpets in agreement*

      The Wild Kratts watched in amazement as all the elephants started heading back to the mouth of the canyon.

Aviva: Yes! He did it! (Y/n) did it!

Chris: Alright, let's grab him and guide the elephants to safety.

Koki: Oh no! The poacher's helicopter is already moving toawrds him!

Aviva: Hurry Jimmy, we have to get to (Y/n) before they do!

Jimmy flies as fast as the Tortuga can go, but isn't gonna make it.

(Y/n): Don't worry, uh, Echo, it's going to be alri-AHHHH!

Clayton has grabbed (Y/n) as the helicopter flies above the herd.

(Y/n): Why, Clayton?! Why?!

Clayton: I served my country for 25 years, I thought it was about time I started getting paid properly for it. Why do you insist on getting on my way?!

(Y/n): Honor! *punches Clayton* Courage! *punches* Commitment! *punches* You took the same oath I did and you threw it all away for money?! You're not a man, you're a monster!

Clayton: At least I'm going to leave here with money to speak of.

Clayton kicks (Y/n) in the chest, causing (Y/n) to lose grip on the rope ladder and fall into a raging river below.

Aviva: (Y/n)!

     Aviva rushes down to the cargo bay and grabs a Buzz Bike and races to (Y/n) as the current takes him further downriver. Clayton meanwhile has the helicopter get closer the ground and is about to shoot his first elephant, but the biggest male rears up and grabs the ladder with his trunk and starts pulling. Clayton drops his gun as the helicipter loses control and hits the canyon wall, Clayton and the pilot jump before the helicopter crashes and land in the middle of the herd who keep them pinned in.

     Meanwhile, Aviva manages to catch up to (Y/n) but can't quite reach him, (Y/n) suddenly falls down a short waterfall and goes under.

Aviva: No!

Echo: *trumpets*

     Aviva follows as Echo follows the river bank at a brisk pace, for an elephant, Echo smashe through any obstacle in her way and the pair finalky catch up again and (Y/n) is barely able to stay afloat. Echo then stampedes into the river and makes her way to (Y/n), picks him up and gets him on her back and meets Aviva back on shore. Aviva gets (Y/n) off Echo's back and tries to perform CPR...

Aviva: Come on, (Y/n). Wake up. Please be alright.

(Y/n): *starts coughing up water* *coughs violently while gasping for air*

Aviva sits (Y/n) up until he can catch his breath, (Y/n) looks at Aviva and pulls her into a hug, which she immediately returned.

Aviva: I'm so glad you're okay! *tears flow*

(Y/n): You saved me, thank you Aviva.

The pair seperate but (Y/n) is too exhausted to stand on his own, thankfully Echo just picks up Aviva and (Y/n) and lifts them onto her back.

(Y/n): Thank you too, Echo. I do hope the other elephants are alright.

      His question is answered when the herd comes back into view and the younger elephants are kicking Clayton around like ball. This gets a laugh out of the group as the authorities finally arrives several minutes later. As one officer passes by (Y/n) with Clayton in cuffs, (Y/n) says to his former mentor.

(Y/n): Still think it was worth betraying your country and friends?

    Clayton doesn't say anything abd looks down at the ground in defeat, the officer tosses him in a van and the authorities round up the rest of the poachers and take down the electric fencing. Afterwards, finds our heroes sitting on a outcrop overlooking the herd as they all play, eat and drink.

Martin: Aw, I'm so glad we saved these elephants.

Chris: Me too. Gatherings like these are rare.

Koki: But why do it at all? Why do all these elephants gather during a solar eclipse of all days?

(Y/n): Maybe, the elephants feel safe.

Jimmy: Safe?

Aviva: Hmm. Oh, I get it, it's the one day that everything changes. The little moon blocks the powerful sun....

(Y/n): So maybe they have reason to hope. Maybe these intelligant creatures believe that by standing together, as they have done for thousands of years, they may, one day, live without fear of man's greed.

Echo: *low grumble*

    The crew turns to Echo approaching them, she reaches out her trunk as (Y/n)'s dog tags dangle from it. Echo drops it in (Y/n)'s hands and gives him a affectionate pat on his head before rejoining her family.

(A/N): End music here.

(Y/n): *looks at dog tags* I somehow feel what happened to Clayton was my fault.

Aviva: How?

(Y/n): If I could've seen the signs earlier, could I have helped him not make the decision to betray me?

Aviva: We may never know the answer to that, greed can make people do things they didn't think themselves capable of. *puts a hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder* What happened to Clayton wasn't on you and it isn't now.

(Y/n): I wanted to thank you, all of you. You really got me to trust people again to an extent.

Jimmy: We're just glad you're on our side.

Martin: And I'm happy these elephants are safe.

Chris: Living free and in the wild.

Elephant Herd: *victorious TRUMPET*

(A/N): Whew, finally. I think I've got it. I am so sorry for the long wait, I hope you can forgive me. I hope you guys enjoy and I'll see you guys on our next exciting adventure, until then. PEACE OUT!!!
