Narrator:A boy named Takeo Koshiro, short brown hair and blue eyes, lives a normal life, his parents died when he was 10, and now, he is turning 17, and his only family left, his younger sister named Aoki, is celebrating his birthday with him.

Aoki:"Good morning, Takeo!"

Takeo:*Yawns* "Good morning."

*Takeo wakes up to his sister serving him breakfast in bed*

Takeo:"What's this?"

Aoki:"It's your birthday breakfast!"

*Aoki smiles cheerfully as Takeo eats his breakfast. Later in the day, they go to the beach to celebrate his birthday, there are a few other people there*

Takeo:"The beach? How'd you know?"

Aoki:"You always wanted to see it, so here we are!"

Takeo:"Thanks a lot, Aoki."

Aoki:"Oooooo, look! There waves are getting so big!"

Takeo(mind):I don't think that's a good thing, but it's probably nothing.

*They have fun at the beach*

Aoki:"Hey, Takeo?"

Takeo:"Yeah?"

Aoki:"Look, there's something in the ocean."

Takeo:"Huh?"

*I see a small figure in the distance*

Aoki:"What is it?"

Takeo:"That looks like...a ship."

Aoki:"A ship? Cool?"

Takeo:"Not just any ship too, it's a battleship."

Aoki:"Oh..."

Takeo(mind):But what's it doing here?

*Takeo looks a little further down to the left of the battleship*

Takeo:*Gasps*

*He sees another battleship, about to fire at it*

Takeo:"Aoki...we should leave."

Aoki:"Huh? Why?"

*The battleship starts firing*

Takeo:"Whoa!"

Aoki:"What the?!"

Takeo:"Aoki! let's go, or we're gonna get hurt."

Takeo(mind):We'd sure as hell don't wanna get caught in the crossfire.

*Takeo sees the barrel of one of the battleship's gun aim towards the beach*

Takeo:*Gasps*

Takeo(mind):Is that battleship trying to get civilians into this?! Why?!?!

Takeo:"Aoki! Run!"

Aoki:"Why are they fighting?"

Takeo:"Just run!"

*Takeo grabs onto Aoki's hand and runs for it, as the battleship fires at the beach, killing the rest of the people at the beach*

Takeo:"Don't look back, Aoki!"

Aoki:*Gasps*

*Aoki freezes and let's go of Takeo's hand*

Takeo:"Aoki!"

Aoki:*Gasps*

*Tears start rolling down Aoki's face, as one of the battleships aims at her*

Takeo:*Gasps* "Aoki!!!"

*The battleship fires and hits Aoki, killing her, and Takeo gets blown back, and gets knocked out, and comes back to after a few days*

Takeo:"Ugh...what the?"

*Takeo wakes up in a hospital, and sees a girl with long pink hair sitting in a chair next to his bed*

???:"Oh, you're awake."

Takeo:"...Where...Am I?"

???:"You're at the Azur Lane hospital."

Takeo:"A-what Lane?"

???:"Azur Lane, you were seen in the middle of a war zone, unconscious. A rescue team was sent out, and you were brought here."

Takeo:"Oh, I think I get it..." *Gasps* "What about my sister? She goes by the name o-"

???:"No one else was seen on the sight, they entire beach was blown to pieces, I'm sorry..."

Takeo:"Oh..."

*Takeo slumps down on his hospital bed*

Takeo:"Who are you, anyway?"

???:"Oh, excuse me, where are my manners, my name is Vestal. I'm a repair ship."

Takeo:"Huh? A repair ship?"

Vestal:"Yep, but my only role is to fix other battleships."

Takeo:"Wait, you mean to tell me that you are a battleship?!"

Vestal:"That is correct, yes."

Takeo:"...Wait, really?"

Vestal:"Yes."

Takeo:"...Huh..."

Takeo(mind):This girl is probably just delusional.

Takeo:"So...I was the only survivor?"

Vestal:"Yes, no other bodies were found."

Takeo:"Can I ask you a question related to what happened?"

Vestal:"Well...I'm not the person you should speak to, I don't really know what happened, the people who saved you are off doing their own thing."

Takeo:"And who are they?"

Vestal:"T-They're names are classified to civilians, I'm sorry."

Takeo:"Oh, o-ok...I just wanted to thank them, but I guess I couldn't."

*Takeo gets up from his hospital bed*

Takeo:"Ugh..."

Vestal:"C-Careful...you should take it slowly."

Takeo:"Rather not...got places to see."

*Takeo gets out of his hospital bed and starts walking out of his hospital room, Vestal goes after him*

Vestal:"Sir!"

Takeo:"Ugh...hah...hah...ok."

*Takeo walks outside, putting his hand on the wall to support him the entire time*

Takeo:"Ugh!"

Takeo(mind):Damn that sun...

*Takeo blocks the sun, and sees that there's battleships everywhere*

Takeo:"What the?!"

Vestal:"Sir! I told you to take it slow!"

Takeo:"...Where am I? What is this place?"

Vestal:"I told you, you're in Azur Lane."

Takeo:"But what is that, exactly?"

Vestal:"...A navy harbor."

Takeo:"Navy?"

Vestal:"Yes, everyone here are, what we name ourselves, battleships."

Takeo:"Huh?!"

*Takeo looks around him, and sees girls all around the harbor*

Takeo:"What...the..."

Vestal:"It's a lot to take in, is it?"

Takeo:"It's just unbelievable, all of you are battleships? No way..."

Vestal:"It's true...here, let me show you what I mean."

Takeo:"Huh?"

*Vestal spots another girl*

Vestal:"Oh, Cleveland! Come here for a sec."

*A ship with peach colored hair, and red eyes approaches us*

Cleveland:"Yeah? What's up, Vestal?"

Vestal:"Can you show this boy that you're a cruiser?"

Cleveland:"Huh? Why? What's up with him?"

Takeo:"Uh..."

Vestal:"Just, can you?"

Cleveland:"Uh...yeah, sure."

*Cleveland starts running towards the ocean*

Takeo:"What's she doing?"

Vestal:"Watch."

*Takeo watches as Cleveland jumps towards the ocean, and the battleships around her shrink and attach to her sides, and she stands on the water*

Takeo:*Gasps*

Takeo(mind):No way...

*Takeo falls down in shock*

Cleveland:"There! That good enough, Vestal?"

Vestal:"Yeah, thanks Cleveland!"

Cleveland:"No problem!"

*Cleveland jumps back onto the dock, and transforms back, the battleships turn back to normal too*

Takeo:"Wha...wha..."

Cleveland:"Hehe...this guy ok?"

Vestal:"He's just a bit overwhelmed."

Takeo:"That..."

Takeo(mind):It's like magic or something! I never knew there was a navy that is so advanced! I doubt it's even technology.

Cleveland:"Hey...sorry if I sound rude, but who are you?"

Takeo:"Oh, my name is Takeo, Takeo Koshiro."

Cleveland:"Oh! You're the guy that's gonna be our new commander."

Takeo:"Wait, what? What?!"

Vestal:"C-Cleveland! You weren't supposed to say that, he wasn't supposed to know until Enterprise comes back."

Takeo:"Wait, what am I not supposed to know? What does she mean by commander?"

Vestal:"Ugh...I was gonna wait until Enterprise comes back, but I guess it can't be helped. The truth is...we are in need of a new commander."

Takeo:"Ok...wait, what?!?!"

Cleveland:"Should've kept my mouth shut..."

Takeo:"So...I'm gonna be a commander?! I'm not qualified to enter the navy, and I just went through a traumatic experience too!"

Vestal:"Honestly! I don't know what Enterprise is thinking sometimes..."

Takeo:"Who's this Enterprise?"

Cleveland:"Dude, She's a legend! Her enemies call her...'Grey Ghost'...oooooo...so scary..."

Takeo:"...Ok...but who is she?!"

Vestal:"A battleship...an Aircraft Carrier, to be exact."

Takeo:"Enterprise...like the actual ship?!"

Cleveland:"What do you mean by that?"

Takeo:"An Enterprise is a ship created by the US, it sold for an estimate of 9 million yen."

Cleveland, and Vestal:"Huh?"

Takeo:"...I learned it in world history..."

Cleveland:"...Hahaha!"

Takeo:"Huh?"

Vestal:"Cleveland?"

Cleveland:"Haha, I like this guy! He's gonna make a great commander!"

Takeo:"Uh...thanks?"

*Cleveland spots something in the distance*

Cleveland:"Oh, there she is already!"

Vestal:"She's here? Ok then, I've got to get back to work."

Takeo:"Huh?"

Vestal:"Someone's gotta repair her ships...I wonder how much damage is on her this time."

Takeo:"...Huh? Is that her?"

*Takeo sees a woman with grey hair and grey eyes approaching the harbor from the ocean*

Takeo:"Holy crap...you guys really do walk on water..."

Cleveland:"Heh...what else walks on water?"

Takeo:"I can name someone who's believed to."

???:"I see you've awoken."

Takeo:"Huh?"

*The woman transforms back to normal, and walks towards Takeo*

Takeo:"Who...are you?"

Cleveland:"Dude, you're in the presence of a legend!"

???:"It's fine, he doesn't know who I am, and that's ok. My name's Enterprise, and I'd like to make you the new commander of Azur Lane."

Takeo:"...Huh? You're serious?"

Enterprise:"Yes."

Cleveland:"I told you."

Enterprise:"Tell him what?"

Cleveland:"Uh...n-nothing..."

Enterprise:"Cleveland...did you tell him that he was gonna be the new commander before I got here?"

Takeo:"So I really am gonna be the commander?"

Enterprise:"That's correct. We're gonna have a ceremony later today to welcome the new commander."

Takeo:"Huh...that...actually doesn't sound too bad."

Enterprise:"Then it's settled. I look forward to working with you, commander."

*Enterprise holds her hand out to him*

Takeo:"Please, call me Takeo."

*Takeo shakes Enterprise's hand*
