The Storm

The cool breeze swept across the ship like a giant bird flew over the small ship, the birds chirped, their feathery body's puff up as they do. The clouds would build up slowly, but that was later. Now, the birds would settle in their cages, scared of what was happening, for what would, some couldn't think correctly because of it, some where taken out of Of their cages, never to be seen again, all the others thought they were let free, they would be jealous, except for one, to busy being scared. 'Cole' is what he called himself, that was his name, he was the only one that knew that, besides his parents, but he didn't know where they where, all he knew was that he would make it out alive, if he had to make it out. The bird grabbed the edge of the small cage, it looked and felt more like a crate, well, what they could see. But that was besides the point. He looked out of the tiny crack in the side of the cage, the clouds where forming, getting darker. He remembered the humans talking about going into Florida, he had no idea what that place was, being a Korean Crow and all, he had only know his origin place, they had been on the rippled sea for what felt like forever now. His head twitched to the side. His claws let go, he started flapping his wings, before he saw a light outside flicker, it was way quicker than what a normal human could do with a flashlight, he heard the air burst. All the birds in the cages started chirping, scared, he felt the water prickling at his feathers from the cracks in the top of the cage. He olooked up, the water fell from the sky now, he had never felt this before, he hadn't been out for most of his life, wasn't his fault, he remembered it, he was captured at a young age, he remembered the Freezing cold of the inside of the store he was taken to, the humans called it a sanctuary.

He ripped himself out of thought, and got to the corner with the other Korean Crows, he hid there, keeping warm, the others where trying to do the same. His wings where tucked in, making room for other Crows, they never did this, but at this point it was mandatory. Cole stuck is head out, seeing one end, his head lift up a small amount, then he looked to the other side. Then upwards, a sudden jolt pulled the crate to the side of the boat, the birds chirped as they hit the side, but the edges of the ship where big enough to catch the crate, without hitting the other side. The place grew darker, the clouds above must be causing this, perhaps a cause of which he didn't know of at the moment. "The boat is off course!" One of the handlers said. They started discussing stuff, not as loud. The Crows looked around, all wondering what would happen next. Then within a few seconds, the boat jerked to the right again, heading straight to NYC, Florida is off the limits for travel, but that was something they didn't know.
