Ellen - The Voodoopunks
And so, Ellen and Jane enter the underground world of the Voodoopunks, where a choir of Voodoopunks whoop and dance around an increasingly confused and worried Luke. Luke kneels on the ground, a mockery of the executions that plague the city, with his hands behind his back. The underground home of the Voodoopunks is a mess of both vivid colors and an absolute lack of color as well, with the people more colorful than the world they inhabit.
Ellen enters at the side of her aunt, staring at Luke the whole time. He doesn't notice her in the chaos. Jane pats Ellen on the shoulder, telling her she'll be right back as she makes her way across the room to Luke. Jane stares at him as she leads the other Voodoopunks in a crazed chorus of chanting. "Mortus re-de-unte ad nos, reditum ad can-ta-re, Mortus re-de-unte ad nos, reditum ad sal-ta-re!" They chant, before going into the classic chanting of, "Doll-ay, oh oh, we come doll-ay,"
"All one, tonight we call, spirits come!" She chants above the chanting and shouting of the Voodoopunks. Jane takes Luke's face in her hands, forcing him to look into her eyes. "You will be our vessel, spirits come and take possession, they bring us songs from Elysian Nights, the songs that make you loose your mind."
Luke at first tries to squirm away, but slowly he stops and becomes more dazed, entranced by the chanting of the crowd.
"We collect these songs brought from the dead and sing along, all those who hear will loose their minds." She stands up. "All can, tonight we call spirits dance, All can, tonight we all spirits dance! Years of dead we call, we find the songs they bring us all, the ones that no one can deny and make you loose your mind. Though you don't know the song, you will know every word, Policeman, the spirit comes and now you go."
In an instant, Luke's eyes become glazed over and unthinking. Almost zombie-like. Ellen slowly walks through the now-silent crowd and stands in front of him, looking at him. He looks up at her, but he can't seem to recognize her. Total strangers.
*A/N: I have this fun little head-cannon that the guy who is possession Thomas, (Luke) is actually Jasper, (Matthew from the last one.) Even if it's not the case, it feels really funny. Like, "JESUS, first Annabel, (Steph,) then Edgar, (John) I FINALLY die for good, and I'm back AGAIN?! And who's this loser that I'm stuck in!? STOP BRINGING ME BACK AND LET ME HANG WITH MY DEAD DAUGHTER FIGURE!"*
