Ellen- The Finale

And so... come on Jane, you really expect me to narrate this? You're saying that Ellen just sings another song and it dispels the first?

"Yes! How else were we going to-"

That's stupid.

"Well, what were we supposed to do?"

You're supposed to not change the narrative.

"Mike, the entire city was going to fall."

That's the point! It's supposed to be an epic tragedy!

"Well we don't want an epic tragedy. Jesus Mike, what's with the bloodthirsty attitude?"

It's the beauty of the story, it would have been told for generations.

"For heaven's sake Mike, we're not interested in your epic tragedy. Besides, the most striking tragedies are always the most intamite ones."

....

........

...........

"Mike?"

Okay. Okay Jane. I actually see your point.

"Oh thank god."

The intimate ones are the best. It's no "fall of New Albion," but... if Ellen dies-

"NO. Not Ellen."

No, no- It would be beautifully heart-wrenching.

"Mike!"

We'll do it your way.

"You can't do this! You're not the story, you're just the bloody narrator!"

Watch and learn, Jane.

And so, as the government forces slowly regain their senses-

"Andy! Andy, take Ellen! When these soldiers wake up they're gonna kill her!"

"No, they won't."

Jane, stop this. If you try going down this road, you'll be going without a narrator.

"FINE!"

Ugh, -they find Ellen Outsider, the most hunted thief in the city standing right before them.

"Jane, take the kids and run. You all have to go. I'll keep them away."

"Father, please. I just found you again, don't make me loose you."

"No, Ellen. As your father it's my job to die if need be for you. Ellen, we stole one day for each other, and that would have been enough to last me a lifetime. It's more than I have ever dreamed. I love you."

"Father, please!"

"Young man, take my daughter away from here. And take care of her."

"Yes sir."

"No, Luke, let go!"

"I'm sorry, Ellen, but we have to go!"

"You want tragedy, Mike? I'll give you tragedy."

*Gun cocks*

"You want to tell this story, or should we?"

....

......

Let's finish this story with a bang, shall we, Jane?

And so, with Luke and Ellen now safe, Jane walks up next to her brother, her pistol loaded and ready.

"Why haven't you gotten to safety?"

"I'm staying by your side. You're my blood. I'm not letting you die alone."

Jane sees one solider breaking out of his trance. She aims quickly, but is shot before she can actually pull the trigger. Andy shoots and kills the man, but lowers his gun when he sees Jane shot in the stomach, fallen on the ground.

"Jane!"

Andy kneels down and takes his sister in his arms.

"I'm sorry I wasn't a good sister. I wish the past was different. Can you forgive me for that?"

"I think I can." Jane starts to cough. "Shh, shh. Sleep now. I'll see you soon."

"Elysium?"

"Elysium."

Jane's eyes close with a smile, as she drifts away to the afterlife.

Meanwhile, the soldiers have broken out of their trance. They all have their guns aimed at Andy, as one man shouts over a speaker.

"Andy Outsider! We have you surrounded! You have no choice but to surrender!"

Andy stands still. He takes both weapons off his back and turns them on. "Run." He says in a low growl. "Run and taste my rage." The flames and bullets start coming, knocking out the first few rows of men. Some back away, while some start shooting.

"RUN!" He shouts. "Run, run!"

As the entire street is engulfed in flames, some men running, some foolishly standing their ground, Andy  performs his largest attack; one that would kill him without a shadow of a doubt, but wipe out the entire force at the same time.

Andy looks up at the sky one last time, seeing the flames rise above him, and lets out one final scream as he finally lets go; and destroys his body.

Meanwhile, Ellen and Luke, now far away from the battle and hidden away in Luke's apartment, hear the explosion.

"What was that?"

"Your father, most likely."

Ellen stands up and goes for the door. Luke stops her. "Ellen please. Don't go out there."

"Why should I trust you?"

"Ellen." Luke takes her hands. "I'm sorry. I promise though, all this time I've tried to keep you safe. So please, let me help you get somewhere safe. Out of the city, maybe. Then, if you want, I'll leave you forever. Okay?"

"Ellen?"

"Okay. I'll give it a try. I'll find a new way to fight the same fight. I'll give you a chance."

"I promise, I won't turn on you again." Luke holds out his hands for her to shake. "Friends?"

Ellen smiles and dismisses his hand, at first disappointing Luke, until she hugs him tightly. He relaxes and hugs her back.

"Friends."
