Andy - The Child

Back in the pale green room, the video of Andy's daughter plays and she sings her song.

"Past the world, past the night, past the stars where seabirds fly. Past your dreams to toyland's shore, where we will meet again once more..."

The night that Andy left home to become a super soldier, he had sat his daughter down on the bed. He had put away the whiskey for that night; he didn't want to be drunk when he spoke to her. He told her a bedtime story and sang their lullaby until she fell asleep. It was only then he explained what was happening. He told her he was leaving... but only while she slept. He honestly couldn't deal with it.

But the government offered him a way to quench his thirst for revenge. He had become less of a man in the years of drinking, and he knew that he was no good for his daughter. However, after years of fighting as a super soldier, he realized that he was now EVEN LESS of a man than he was back then. Once the anger over his wife's death was gone, all he had left was a hole in his heart, filled with only memories of the little girl he shouldn't have abandoned.

But are you really surprised at his actions, listeners? His wife was everything to him; his heart, his life, his very soul. When the rebels accidentally blew her up, he didn't know how to go own. We all have our own way of coping, correct? Even if it meant abandoning his little girl.

And if his daughter was still alive out there, hating him for abandoning her, he was okay with that. Because she could take solace knowing that he would someday die alone. All he had was war and death; the things he had traded his daughter for.

And he regretted every second.
