"Lucy," Cameron whispers in class. "Hey."

"Huh," Lucy shakes out of her trance. She looks around and sees the entire class including the teacher, Mrs. Harris, staring at her.

"Miss Durant," Mrs. Harris calls out. "Care to share your daydreams with the class?"

"I-I'm sorry," she stammered.

"...Then solve for x please, up on the board."

"I didn't...I don't...know-"

"Because you weren't paying attention." Mrs. Harris puts her hands on her hips. "My class isn't the place to fantasize about your boyfriend, Miss Durant. Wake up."

Lucy is offended by her accusation and gets angry.

"I wasn't daydreaming about my boyfriend," she stands up. "I have other things going on at home and I wish you and everyone else would keep the hell off my back about it!"

"Principal's office, now."

"I'm already a step ahead of you." Lucy grabs her things and storms out the classroom.

After a lengthy talk with the Principal and a mere slap on the wrist, Lucy leaves the Principal's office only to be met by a concerned Cameron.

"What the hell was that back there?" Cameron asked.

Lucy takes a deep breath and looks around before leaning against the wall.

"Family drama," she finally answered.

"Well, it's lunch hour now. I'm listening."

"This guy who I've been seeing around town, Ty or Tyler, whatever; he randomly showed up to my door the morning of Black Friday claiming to be my father's son. And he believes him. In fact, they're out to lunch right about now."

"Holy shit," Cameron's eyebrows raise. "What did your mom say?"

"She doesn't know," Lucy exhaled. "My dad told me to keep it hush until everything is laid out on the table. Just...how could he do this? To me...to my mother? You'd think he'd bring something up like this to her before they took vows, for fuck's sake."

"So your dad just abandoned Ty and his mom?"

"Not exactly. Apparently she told him she was getting an abortion. But my problem is: either she never did or she did and this guy is an imposter looking for money."

Cameron laughed. "No offense but your Dad is rich, not Brad Pitt type of rich. Why would Tyler go for him?"

"Because it's easier probably. The richer you are, the more security, power and popularity you have. It's strategy, go for the smaller & easier targets."

"I don't know Lucy," Cam shook his head. "I think you might be overthinking this."

"I need you on my side Cam."

Cameron sighed. "Look if it matters that much to you then try to get them to do a DNA test. Simple."

"I wouldn't be surprised if my dad didn't already bring that up."

. . . .

The last bell of the day rings and Tiffany gets a text from Mr. Howell.

C.THOMAS: Be there in 5!

Tiffany smiles to herself and gets easily startled when Nate grabs her waist from behind.

"Where you been at stranger?" Nate kisses her forehead.

"Class," Tiffany chuckled. "Where you should have been."

"I was in class, just...not all of them."

"Babe...it's senior year, come on."

"Aight, aight," he holds her tighter. "Wanna go over to mine? We can study."

"You don't study," Tiffany laughs. "Besides, I have work. Mr. Howell's coming to pick me up."

"...That's why you didn't drive to school this morning?"

"Yeah. What's the matter with that?"

"I don't know about this guy, Tiff." Nate folds his arms.

"He's my boss and he has to be on set today. This is my chance to finally see the ropes of a movie set! You know how important this is to me."

"I know but it still doesn't make sense why he has to pick you up when you got a perfectly good car."

Tiffany rolls her eyes and heads for the main entrance doors.

"How old is this guy anyway?" Nate trails behind her.

"I know where you're trying to take this, Nate. It's not like that at all. It's business. Besides..." Tiffany turns around and kisses him. "I'm yours."

They're interrupted by a car horn. They turn to see Thomas wearing his shades in his convertible Mustang.

"Come meet him." Tiffany drags Nate by the hand to the car. "Tommy, this is my boyfriend Nate."

"Tommy?" Nate's face scrunches up. "I thought it was Mr. Howell."

"It is," Thomas smiles. "But all my friends call me Tommy or Thomas. Nice to finally meet the boyfriend." Thomas shakes Nate's hand.

"I'll call you when I get home tonight." Tiffany kisses Nate one more time before getting in the car & they drive off.

. . . . .

Serenity is blending Stassie's contour. Music is playing in the background and two dogs are chasing each other around the house while Stass holds the third in her lap.

"Which day did you need free again," Stass asked.

"Saturday," Serenity tensed. "I know weekends are major for you but it's gonna be my boyfriend's birthday."

Stass gasped. "For real? That's awesome, of course you can have that day to yourself. Plus, nothing's happening anyway for me. What are you doing for his birthday?"

"I think I'm just gonna take him out on the town," Serenity shrugged. "We don't have any set plans yet."

"Bullshit," Stass took a potato chip out the bag nearby. "It's his big day. Don't you wanna be the best girlfriend ever?"

"Yeah but...what are you getting at?"

"Throw him a party, silly!"

"It's a little too late to get all that planning done in five days," Serenity scoffed.

"Um hello," Stass points to herself. "If I can set up a party in 24 hours, I can do five days."

"I-I can't let you do all that for me. That's way too-"

"Serenity, I insist."

"What's the catch?"

"No catch. I just love a good party. Just text me things he's into, type of music he likes, favorite snacks, and whatnot...and I'll work my magic."

"I still don't know." Serenity nervously turns around to put down the blending sponge & looks around for the mascara. She pauses, closing her eyes & taking a deep breath.

"Trust me," Stass speaks as she examines the puppy's paws. "Kylie and Jordyn will be in Vegas. So tell everyone, invite all your friends but tell them to keep it hush. It will be the surprise of Sammy's life."

. . . . .

The sun is setting across La La Land & everyone is turning in for the day.

After a couple hours on set and picking up his 8 year old son, Lincoln, Thomas finally drops Tiffany back home. All three of them were enjoying ice cream cones.

"Nice house," Thomas whistles.

"Dad," his son calls out. "Can I sit in the front now?"

"Not until you're tall enough bud," he answers.

"Today was fun," Tiffany smiled as she reached for her bag.

"It was," Thomas nodded. "And you got your first day on a real movie set. I gotta say you did great as an assistant. Just might hire you for real after the internship is done. And Lincoln is just crazy about you."

"Dad," his son whined.

"Sorry, sorry," Thomas laughed along with Tiffany.

"Well," Tiffany sighed. "I'll see you on Friday, boss. And thanks for the mint chocolate chip."

"Anytime. See you then." He shook her hand.

Tiffany had an awkward pause when she looked at him then felt embarrassed once she got out of the car. She didn't mean to linger and she hurried into her house.

. . . .

As the night goes on, Vanessa is in her room, doing her homework. Gilinsky keeps calling her phone and she keeps ignoring it. A picture of her and Kalin is open on her computer screen. She feels very torn about everything.

Over at the Durant residence, Lucy pushes her food around her plate as her parents laugh about something together. It's all just sounds to her. She's trying to figure out how her father could smile about anything; withholding truths about his past.

"You haven't touched your lasagna," her mother said, knocking her out of her thoughts.

"Oh," Lucy shook her head. "Sorry, I was...thinking about, uh, my test coming up. I'm not too hungry, may I be excused?"

"Is everything alright," her mother asked.

"I hope it will be." Lucy glared at her father and he cleared his throat, tending to his plate & reaching for his wife's hand.

. . . . .

On the other side of town, Derek and Nate are at an undisclosed location, surrounded by people tending to their customized cars.

"This is the hub, baby!" Derek was full of excitement. His shirt wasn't on his back, it was in his hand, sometimes using it to occasionally flirt with random girls and lightly whipping them with it. "Everybody that's everybody hangs out here, races here, smokes here. Shit, there goes Melvin. Yo Melvin!"

Melvin, also shirtless, looks up over at Derek and Nate. He closes the hood of the car and does a certain handshake with Derek.

"This is Nate," Derek introduces.

"It's Skate," Nate corrects.

"You drag race?" Melvin asks.

"Shit," Nate shrugged. "Not yet."

"Oh aight, I see you," Melvin nods. "Derek, you should give him the tour."

"Give him the tour," Derek repeats with a huge smile. He nods his head toward the cobalt blue car Melvin was just checking out. "Get in."

The two get into the car while Melvin raises his hand up, signaling to someone in the distance. He leans down in front of the driver's side.

"You can take on Christian, right?" Melvin asked. "His shit doesn't go as fast as Zeus."

"Who's Christian and Zeus?" Nate was confused.

"Christian is nobody special," Melvin answered. "And Zeus? Zeus is my child. The alpha and omega. The lightning that rips open the sky." Melvin runs his hand along the car they sat in.

Nate was pretty sure this was all an exaggeration but he was excited nonetheless.

Derek fired up the car and they drove out to the starting line. Nate felt like he was in the middle of Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. The lights of the city were bright in the distance next to the sloped rode ahead of them. Christian pulls up next to them and nods. A beautiful girl walks between the cars holding a handkerchief.

"Damn I love that girl," Derek bit his lip. "That's Mara. She's from Taiwan and I can't lie, I'm dyin' to hit it."

Mara throws her arms up...and as soon as she drops them, the cars take off. The screech of the tires forever stain the road. In no time, the boys hit 60 miles per hour, then 80, then 120 with the pedal to the floor. Nate pressed his hand against the ceiling, until he could get used to the speed. He looked between Christian and Derek. Derek was shouting with raging adrenaline.

"Yeah baby!" Derek yelled. "Get some, bitch! Get some! Yo watch this!"

Derek releases the nitrous and it allows the car to go even faster. They beat Christian by a foot. Derek and Nate joyously celebrate their victory once the car stops and they're greeted by the crowd that was already waiting at the finish line.

"Holy shit," Nate exhaled.

"You feel all that fuckin- that fuckin' adrenaline bro?!"

"Hell yeah! Yo, where do I sign up for this life," Nate laughed.

"You want in for real? My crew can teach you all you need to know."

Nate sat there for a moment, thinking about it. This was exactly what he's been looking for. The rush. The rush that surfing on a dangerous tide or skating in trespassed places couldn't give him. It was everything he needed to get rid of the pain Lucy caused. It was everything he needed to ignore how bored he was starting to get with Tiffany. This was his future of memorable moments.

"Count me in," Nate finally spoke.

Author's Note:

Hmmm, Nate, I don't know about this bruh. I don't even know about Derek. hmmmmm.

Will Lucy find what she's looking for? Or will she find something she didn't want to know?

All of Serenity's friends on Stassie's turf for her to meet all at once? A party thrown for someone she doesn't even know? Sounds sketch to me...or is it purely innocent?

Will Vanessa ever have that deep conversation with Gilinsky? Sure, if she ever picks up the damn phone.

Everything will be revealed.......eventually ;)
