Chapter 31- Bailey's POV
Trevor lifted his head and raised an eyebrow when I entered the kitchen, and all the talking stopped amongst the children, and they turned to look at me with wide eyes. "Well?" he asked and cocked his head, studying me. "How is he?"
"He's fine," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "He's going to clean up his mess before he comes downstairs and get something to eat," I added. "I think he is still a little drunk but also hungover."
Trevor bit back a small snort and nodded while he leaned back in his seat. "I wouldn't be surprised," he said while he folded his arms across his chest before he cleared his throat and tapped a finger on one of his arms. "I mean, he did drink a lot."
"Wait, what?" Sky asked and looked between us with wide eyes. She furrowed her brows and cocked her head, studying me before she looked at his other best friend, confused. "What are you talking about? What happened?"
"Nothing, Sky," I said and shook my head, and she looked at me. "Don't worry about it."
Mimi rolled her eyes and scowled before she looked at her best friend. "It means that he was drunk last night," Mimi said, and Sky instantly looked at her, "and he is now hungover and probably still woozy."
I bit back a small snort and shook my head. "Well, that is one way to put it," I grumbled before I made my way over to the table and sat down with a small sigh. I shook my head again before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "But yes, he was drunk last night and is now hungover."
Sky shrugged and furrowed her brows, biting the inside of her bottom lip with furrowed brows. "Well, did you two at least kiss?" she asked and cocked her head, studying me. "Or was there nothing like that going on?"
My cheeks turned red, and I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat some more, not able to meet their gazes. I didn't say a word and looked at my plate of food, not knowing what to say.
"I think Bay was adamant about nothing going on just yet," Trevor said, looking at me, and I looked at him again. He flashed me a small wink with a small smirk on his face, and I rolled my eyes and scowled, not saying a word..
The children looked at each other before they looked at me with equal curious gazes on their faces. "Why?" Ryan asked and furrowed his brows, confused, while he cocked his head. "Did he hurt you?"
I bit back a small laugh and shook my head, amused. "No," I said, biting back another chuckle, "but there was a bit of a misunderstanding that happened between us."
Again, the children looked at each other before they looked at me. They didn't say a word, and I could tell that they were worried.
"What was the misunderstanding, Bailey?" Ryan asked when I didn't say another word. He pressed his lips into a thin line before he furrowed his brows and cocked his head further. "What happened?"
"He didn't realize it was me when we went to pick him up and wouldn't come home with us," I said and leaned back in my seat, clearing my throat. "He didn't realize that I was Bailey."
"Or in his books, his princess," Treveor added with another wink, and my cheeks instantly turned redder. He flashed me another small wink with a smirk on his face, and I rolled my eyes and scowled while my cheeks turned another shade of red.
"Very funny, Trevor," I grumbled under my breath, earning a snicker from him. "That was very funny." I bit back a small groan and rubbed my cheeks while Trever shrugged and smirked, growing more amused.
"I thought it was," he said, and I rolled my eyes and scowled.
"Bu-"
"Wait, really?" Christie asked, interrupting me while she looked between us with wide eyes before she looked solely at me. She furrowed her brows and cocked her head while she studied me. "Did he really call you his princess, Bay, or is that just something else?"
I bit back a small laugh and nodded in confirmation. "Yes," I said. "He called me his princess." I shrugged and grimaced before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat, my cheeks turning red. "But I was labelled in his phone as "Princess" first before he called me that himself."
"It was the bartender that called her "Princess" first because that was the name in his phone," Trevor said before he looked at me with a raised eyebrow, cocking his head while amusement filled his eyes. "Right?"
"Correct," I confirmed with a quick nod before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat some more. "However, Blake did conform as to why I was labelled as such in his phone."
"Does he like you?" Ryan asked while he furrowed his brows and cocked his head, studying me. "And has he told you yet if he hasn't?"
"Oh, he has," I confirmed with another quick nod, biting back my laugh. "He told me that he loved me."
Chrissie and Ryan looked at each other with lips pressed into thin lines before they looked at me with a matching look on their faces. They didn't say a word, but I could tell that they were feeling guilty about something.
"What's... going on between the two of you..?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Why do you two look so nervous and guilty about something?"
"Because we kind of threatened him..." Chrissie said, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly, "before he went to get something to drink..."
"Chrissie," Ryan hissed through gritted teeth. He narrowed his eyes and scowled while his sister looked at him with wide eyes. "Shut up."
"No," I said and shook my head, curious and not mad at all because I knew that there was more to this story than what I was told. "Do not shut up until all of this is said and done with, Christina. What happened?"
Chrissie and Ryan looked at each other and then looked at me. They didn't say a word, and I could tell that they didn't want to as if they were afraid I would blow up and yell at them for messing up something that could have been beautiful.
"Christina," I warned and narrowed my eyes, scowling before I looked at Ryan. "Ryan. What happened?"
"Well, they threatened him, duh," Michael sassed, and the two of them instantly looked at their younger brother through narrowed eyes and scowls on their faces.
"Michael," they hissed in unison, their cheeks turning red.
"Wait, really?" I asked with a shocked laugh, looking incredulously between the two of them. I narrowed my eyes, amused, biting back a small smile. "Did you two really threaten Blake?'
They looked at each other before they looked at me and then at the table as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.
They hesitated before they slowly nodded, their cheeks turning a different shade of red. "Yes, Ma'am," they said hesitantly and in unison. "We threatened him yesterday."
"Why?" I asked, amused and not even mad. "Why did you threaten him?"
"Because they don't want me to hurt you," someone said at the door of the kitchen, and I turned that way to see Blake standing there and rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish look on his red face.
My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound fast and hard in my throat, my mouth growing dry.
Oh, sweet, Jesus...
Blake's muscles peaked underneath the shirt that he wore, and he looked good, dripping wet and holding a pot in his other hand, and boy did he look good.
My cheeks instantly turned red when I realized that I was ogling him, and I instantly looked away from him while I shrugged and grimaced. "It takes a lot to hurt me, Handsome," I said before I cleared my throat and stood, making my way to the stove where I had food waiting for him. "I'm the one that does the hurting anyway." I flashed him a small wink, and Blake smiled, amused while he tucked his head closer to his chest.
"You know that you are able to look at me, right?" he teased with a raised eyebrow. "Or are you too embarrassed to do so?"
I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes. "Shut up, Blake," I said, even though my cheeks turned another shade of red.
"More like shy," Trevor said and leaned back in his seat, amused. "I am surprised." He flashed me a teasing wink before he looked at his best friend with a small smirk on his face.
I held back an eye rill and pressed my lips into a thin line, my cheeks turning another shade of red. I didn't say a word while I whipped Blake a plate of food and set it on the table for him to eat.
"Oh, really now?" Blake asked with a small chuckle in his voice. He walked over to the dishwasher and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Now, are the dishes dirty or clean in the dishwasher?" he asked and cocked his head while he studied me.
"Dirty," I replied, glad that my voice didn't shake before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "Go ahead and put it in there and then go ahead and eat. Do you want some pain meds?"
"Please," Blake said and nodded before he placed the pot into the dishwasher. "So what is the plan for today?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he walked over to the table where his food sat.
"Homework, chores, and get ready for tomorrow," I replied and grabbed him some pain meds before I walked over to him. I handed them to him and offered him a small smile, and he smiled while he took then from me. "As well as finish unpacking everything."
"Can we go see a movie?" Mimi asked, bouncing in her chair, excited. "Please? It's been a while since we have seen one."
I bit back a small laugh and cleared my throat before I shifted on my feet and made my way back to my chair. "Let's see what we get done before we do," I said, looking at Mimi. "If we have time, then we can do it."
"Sweet," Mimi said. "Is it my turn to choose one?" she asked with furrowed brows and a cocked head, and Ryan groaned and placed his head on the table, earning a glare from his little sister.
"No fluffy stuff," he said and Mimi narrowed her eyes and scowled. "Please. I don't want to see any cartoon or princess things."
"It's not, unfortunately," I said and shook my head before I looked at Ryan. "Well, it is your turn, so you get to choose the movie. Make sure that it isn't too violent for the young ones. Same rules apply."
Ryan nodded and got up from the table. He grabbed his plate and went to clean it, and I watched him, amused.
"Wait, why does he get to leave the table?" Mimi asked while she looked at him before she looked at me, frowning. "I am done, too."
"You could have left, Mimi, but everyone was talking," I said and looked at her, amused. "Make sure to clean up your plate."
Mimi rolled her eyes and scowled. She got down from the table and the rest of the kids followed. "Well, I wanted to know what was going on between you and Blake and if you two were going to kiss, duh," she sassed. "So are you?"
My cheeks turned red, and I didn't look at Blake while Blake looked at me, but I had a feeling that he was blushing, too.
"Are we?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question, biting back a small smile. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, his cheeks turning red. "I brushed my teeth."
I bit back a small chuckle and cleared my throat while I shifted in my seat again. "Maybe later, Handsome," I said with a shake of my head. "Just not right now because unlike you, I hadn't brushed mine."
