I'm sitting in my room watching t.v., wondering what the day will bring. School was out for two weeks due to Christmas break. I had a feeling that this would be one boring break, but hey we was out of school so it had to count for something. Flipping through the guide on the t.v and nothing was catching my eye. I decided to put it on a cartoon so time could pass.

"Honey what you doing"?

"Nothing mom there really isn't anything to do".

"Well come down you got to see this".

As I trudged out my bed, I could see my mom almost jumping out her skin. I was wondering what it could be. A new car. Mom met a new mystery man. Mom made some friends and they possibly have a daughter I could become friends with. My imagination was getting the best of me. I know none of these things could be true.

"Look out the window", she said.

Walking forward I pull the blue and yellow curtain back. Looking through I see what appears to be a moving truck and a grey Toyota. A few minutes later I  see a girl that looks like she could be the same age as me. A middle age women and man, and a little boy that could be there son. I  couldn't believe my eyes.

"Is this really happening"?

"Yes can't you believe it", my mom said excitedly.

"No one lived in that house in over 3 years now".

"Maybe we should go over and welcome them into the neighborhood", mom said.

"Give them some time to settle in first mom". "In the meantime why don't we go get cleaned up before we go over", I insisted.

"Good idea". "Fine something nice".

I make my way back up the stairs to my room. I walked in and headed straight to the shower. I turn the shower on and jump in. The family looks like they could be nice, but looks can be deceiving. I jumped out the shower and dried off. I rambled through my drawer and found a pair of short blue jeans and a Nike shirt. Slipped on my Nike slippers, and put my perfume and lotion on. Mom was waiting down stairs for me.

"Ready honey". I nodded my head signaling yes. "Let's go then".

The New Neighbors could be just perfect. Or at least that's what I thought.
