It's been oddly quite, even after it was revealed that the Demi-Humans were going to raid this town again. Most of the day had already passed, and I've yet to see a sign of them.

Now the raid hasn't happened yet, but something did happen. The cheers of the villagers directed my attention to the people I tailed yesterday. The camp of people were marching into the town with their Churches banners held high.

They were idolized by the common folk. Considering they are hiring the Demi-Humans to raid this village to keep the people needy and willing to join the Church, and then also saving them and selling the Demi-Humans they capture, they had a well thought out plan here.

It was scummy, but it wasn't a bad plan. I'll play along with them for now until I can figure out how to stop them from nearly causing another war. Considering how fast we got out here, news of Melty's kidnapping shouldn't have reached this place yet. I walked up to the Captain from yesterday and could see displeasure on his face.

Captain: Why are you here Necromancer

Y/n: I'm investigating the frequent raids on this town, would you happen to know anything about it?

Captain: Yes, this village has been attacked by a wandering group of those beasts. We've been stopping them, but not without damages being sustained to the village

Y/n: Well I'll be helping if anything does happen while I'm here

Captain: We don't need any help from you Necromancer

He certainly likes to say that word with venom. I know I'm considered evil in their religion, but damn he's acting like I murdered his family.

Just then the ground shook as an explosion went off in the farms on the outside of the town. I rushed over along with the Church's Crusaders, but they seemed to take a longer route.

As I reached the location, I saw people running away as they were stabbed in the backs from the Demi-Humans. The farms on fire and houses being set on fire by a group carrying torches.

If I was gonna find anything out, I'd need to install some fear into them. I charged In and instantly decapitated one of them that was about to kill another man.

I grabbed another by the neck and slammed him into the ground, crushing his neck in the process. I fired a magic missile at the group holding torches.

Dodging the attacks of some that ran up to me, I cut them in half, before activating my Decay Aura. I watched as the bodies started disintegrate, along with anyone who was close enough to me.

I slowly walked towards a group that was waiting on the back. The one at the very front fell to the ground screaming in pain, as his body decayed.

His friends decided to drop their weapons and flee. Death's Embrace activated and they all instantly dropped dead, as I collected their souls.

I turned off my skill and stepped on the man that had collapsed. His legs had completely rotted, and could no longer be used by him.

Y/n: Where is your boss?

Demi-Human: H-H-He's heading f-further into town...

I thanked the man and cut off his head so he could stop suffering. I didn't see anymore of the raiders over here, so I decided to make my way towards there leader.

I wanted to ask him questions and see if he knew about anything that was going on or if he was unaware of who was actually paying them to raid this place. Either way, I didn't want the Church to get him, since he's probably end up dead before I can find out any useful information.

I ran through the empty town streets. A few of the dead laid scattered around. I resurrected them as I ran past them. Up ahead I saw 3 armored men fly into the buildings as several turned the corner and ran away.

A large monkey man with a club stood. He grinned as he saw me approaching. He was more akin to a beastman then a Demi-Human.

Monkey Man: Ohhh you look fun! I can tell you are stronger then those other guys!

Y/n: I presume you are the leader of this group?

Monkey Man: Nah I heard there was suppose to be some strong people protecting this village

Y/n: Well then you were lied too

Monkey Man: But aren't you protecting this village?

Y/n: I'm just using it for my own gain. I don't have time to bicker with you so are we going to fight or are you going to let me past?

The man simply grinned again as he swung his pole sending rubble flying from the ground. I jumped back and fired several magic missiles at him.

He deflected the attacks and charged at me. Leaping into the air he roared as lightning started to course around him. As he hit the ground a large bolt of lighting shot towards me.

I spawned a Cursed Flame Shield to block the attack, but before I could even react he was in front of me. His staff slammed into me, sending me flying.

It felt like I was hit by a train as I smashed through a building. He grabbed me by the leg and slammed me into the ground again, before slamming me through the building again.

I slashed at his hand, cutting his fingers off. As I hit the ground he kicked me across the street. He was about to stomp on me, but I used Cursed Flame Sword and stabbed it through his foot.

Monkey Man: I was right about you! You are really strong! I haven't had this much fun in ages! Tell me your name!

Y/n: Y/n L/n, and yours?

Wu: My name is Wu

I will admit that I was also starting to enjoy this fight. I haven't actually had a fight that seemed too difficult up till this point. I couldn't help, but start to grin.

Are weapons collided several times. Sparks flying around as the metal scrapped against each other at high speeds.

He went to punch me and I shot magic at him. He caught the magic and crushed it with his hand, and blasted lighting back at me. The building behind me exploded as the lighting missed.

It seems my Decay Aura was finally starting to effect him as he started to become more sluggish. He roared again as several blasts of lighting strikes around me.

They blasted me off my feet, and he hit me back into the ground. I was barely able to dodge his slam, but he was quick to rebound and punched me.

I flew down the street and bounced off the ground several times. I fell back to my knees as I tried to stand up. Blood splattered the ground below me as I felt a sharp pain in my side.

Looking down I saw one of his claws had broken off in me.

He lifted his pole into the air as it grew in size. I was probably about 2 blocks away from him, but his weapon could reach me. I saw the shadow coming down on me.

I could probably muster up a few more attacks, but dodging or trying to block the attack would probably take up to much of my energy and I'll end up vulnerable. I still have a skill I haven't tried out yet, so this was going to be a good test on what it could do.

Y/n: Temporary Skill Edit!

I decided on the spot what 2 skills that I wanted to edit. Cursed Flame Shield and Cursed Flame Multi-Missile

Cursed Flame Shield -> Cursed Flame Mirror

Cursed Flame Multi-Missile -> Cursed Flame Cluster Bomb

As the pole slammed down onto the shield, it was reflected backwards. The sharp movement knocked Wu off balance.

Several Mirrors spawned down the street, and I fired the attack. It bounced off the mirrors, each with more speed then the last. Wu caught the attack right before it hit him, but the speed sent him skidding down the street.

He roared as he tried to redirect the attack and slow himself, but he couldn't as his arms were severally damage from Decay. The attack exploded, sending smaller explosives around and continued as the area was completely lit ablaze by the Cursed Flames.

The flames rustled, as Wu came walking out of the fire. Half of his face was complete burnt off and his body entirely on fire. He was smiling as he stared at me.

Wu: This was truly the most fun I've ever had

He then collapsed, finally succumbing to the wounds he sustained. I breathed a sigh of relief and fell back. I absorbed a few of the souls I had stored and replenished some of my health and magic.

Do you want to resurrect this creature?

I hit the confirmation button and his body started to glow purple and regenerate what it lost to the fire. Since curse fire can't go out, his body fused with it as he was regenerating.

After I recalled him I look at his stats. Needless to say, they were really good, and he was actually a higher ranked unit at Lvl 3, than Xykus who's at Lvl 2.

I used a few potions to recover from the battle, before continuing on. The sounds of fighting and cheers lead me to the bulk of the enemy forces along with the Crusaders.

A lot of the Demi-Humans in the area were either dead or being restrained, while the Captain I saw earlier was fighting someone I would now have to consider the boss of the group.

It was a large Bear Demi-Human. He was more akin to a beastman than a Demi-Human. His body was covered in brown fur, that was caked in blood. He grabbed a poor crusader and proceeded to rip him in half.

He threw the body at the Captain who blocked it with his shield. Yellow particles of mana started collecting around his Shield and the blood evaporated off of it.

Captain: Holy Ground!

A yellow dome surrounded the area as peoples wounds started to heal, and their mana reserves replenished.

He stabbed his shield into the ground and held his sword above his head with two hands. I beam of light extended his blades length similar to what Wu did.

Captain: Divine Flame!

He swung his sword down and a yellow and white fire blasted its way towards the Demi-Human. There was nothing he could do to stop it as everything around him and behind him was reduced to ashes.

Crusaders: PRAISE THE CHURCH!

The moral of the remaining Demi-Humans plummeted fast after that attack. A lot either gave up or tried to run away and we're cut down.

I felt a massive amount of killer intent on me, and Instinctively jumped back, as an explosion went off were I was standing.

The Captain was staring at me with his sword still radiating yellow energy. His eyes glowing a bright yellow as he charged up another attack.

Captain: Shouldn't have come here Necromancer, you should have already known that we despise you

Y/n: That was real scummy of you

Captain: I'd never pass up the opportunity to kill the Necromancer. Just like we did to the previous one

Y/n: What!?
