A cross stitch shadow
Lost the battle
against the sunlight
creeping in

Leaning tree
stands over me
and I cannot let
the darkness win

Yet black as night
this cat cries
as I retreat
to just turn in

Here it ends
where sunlight bends
and all I know
again begins
