Chapter 36

Two weeks had passed since they all got back from internships, and Akina, along with the rest of her class, were sitting at their desks as Aizawa went over a few announcements after class.

"There's only one week left before your final exams begin, and I'm sure you're all studying constantly, right? Don't forget to keep training. The written exam is only one element. There's also the practical portion to worry about. Good luck." He walked over to the door and stepped out, sliding it closed behind him.

The moment the door shut the classroom sprung to life.

"I've barely even taken notes this semester!" Kaminari and Mina exclaimed, Kaminari being horrified and Mina being carefree and laughing.

"With the Sports Festival and Internships I didn't even have time to read the textbooks!" Kaminari continued.

"This is true that we haven't had very much free time." Tokoyami said.

"We barely learned anything when we took our midterms, but now..." Sato said.

"Ashido! Kaminair! we still got time to study!" Midoriya said. "Then we'll all get to go to the training camp together, right?"

"Yes! As class rep I have high hopes that we'll make UA proud!" Iida exclaimed.

"It's pretty hard to fail if you just paid attention in class." Todoroki added.

"You three are too bright." Akina muttered, her head on her desk.

"Woah, this is an attitude change." Sero said, looking at the redhead as she was surrounded by a gloom.

"I practically failed my midterms and almost every other test we've had!" Akina said, looking up at Sero with watery eyes. "I barely knew how to read kanji until a few months ago!"

"Hah, you dumbass." Bakugo scoffed.

Akina sniffled and looked over at the blond, "I might be a dumbass but I can still beat you in a fight, Explodo-Princess!"

"What did you just call me?!"

"You heard me!"

The two of them had gotten up from their seats and were clashing heads, growling and glaring at each other much like a certain fire and ice wizard Akina knew.

"Hey, come on you two, don't fight." Kirishima said, looking at the two rabid teens as they glared at each other.

"Hey don't worry about it you two, I can catch you up to speed on the important topics if you want. That goes for you too Hayashi."

Akina perked up, looking from Bakugo to Momo with a wide smile appearing on her face. "You'd really do that? Thanks a bunch!"

"I've been studying, but could you help me out too?" Jiro asked. "I'm having some trouble understanding quadratic functions." Jiro said, walking up.

"Tutor me please! Classical Japanese is killing me!" Sero exclaimed.

"Is there room for one more? I'm afraid I'm falling behind a little." Ojiro asked.

Momo started to sparkle, "This is wonderful. Yes, let's do it! Okay, we can hold a study session at my residence over the weekend."

"Seriously, I can't wait to see your fancy digs!"

"Oh, I must call mother and have her prepare the great hall for us to set up! It'll be the perfect spot! What kind of tea does everyone like? I'll make sure we're stocked. In my family we always drink Harrods or Wedgewood, so if you have any other preference, let me know!"

"Any herbal tea is good for me!" Akina exclaimed.

"Perfect! When we're finished you'll all be model students! I'll make it my personal duty to push you forward."

"Awesome! I bet I'll ace my finals if you're helping me!" Akina exclaimed.

After the rest of their morning classes, they all headed to the cafeteria for lunch, where Akina had piled on fruits, vegetables, and a large salad on her trey. Since she was technically employed by the school for security, she was able to get one free meal a day and get whatever she wanted for that meal. It was a dream come true for her. After getting her food she sat down next to Sero, at the same table as Mina, Jiro, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Bakugo.

"What do you guys think the practical test will be?" Sero asked, "None of the teachers have given any hints so for all we know we could be going up against the teachers!"

"No way dude, that'd be totally unfair." Kaminari said, waving his chopsticks dismissively. "They can't expect first years to defeat the teachers."

"Actually I think it'd be fun." Akina said, "I mean, I've been trying challenge the teachers to fights but all of them decline for stupid reasons!"

"Yeah, you're the only one who'd do that, Aki." Mina said. "Honestly when you challenged Mr. Ectoplasm in the middle of Algebra I could of sworn Iida almost fainted!"

"I was completely serious when I challenged him. Think of how fun it'd be to fight all those clones!"

Jiro looked at Akina with a slightly frightened look on her face. "You scare me sometimes."

Akina just looked at her and grinned. She might not know what was going to happen for the final practical exam, but whatever it was going to be she knew for she that she'd have fun.

"All right!" Mina and Kaminari cheered.

The rest of the school day had just passed by and the class was gathered in their homeroom, where Midoriya told them all what was going to happen for the practical exam. According to Kendo they'd be fighting against robots like the ones in the entrance exam and Sports Festival.

"This'll be super easy if it's just robots!" Kaminari exclaimed.

"Such awesome news!" Mina agreed.

"Why do you sound so happy? You both have a hard time controlling your quirks." Shoji asked.

"Yeah, but I can let loose with robots!"

"And melting them'll be a cinch for me!"

"Now you just need Yaoyorozu to help you study and you'll be all set for the finals." Sero said.

"We'll definitely be able to the training camp now!"

"It shouldn't matter if it's robots or actual people." Bakugo started, "Why are you morons so excited?"

"Hey, who are you calling a moron!?" Kaminari shouted, only to recoil when Bakugo turned to glare at both him and Mina.

"Shut up! You need to learn how to control your quirk! Ya got it!?" He then turned to look over at Midoriya, "Hey, Deku, I don't know what's going on with your power, but I saw the way you're using it now and I want you to know... It's seriously pissing me off. We'll be getting individual scores in the upcoming finals, new rankings. So we'll all know exactly where we're standing! I'll show you how much better I am. And Hayashi? I'll kill you, too."

Akina tilted her head as he eyes met Bakugo's. "Is that a threat?"

"What? Of course it's a fucking threat!" Bakugo shouted.

"Well, I hope you try your best! I've had a lot of people much stronger than you say the same thing to me many times before! I'm looking forwards to the challenge! But just for future notice you should be careful who you threaten. Threaten the wrong person and you're done for!"

Most of the class looked at Akina in pure horror. Who in their right mind would respond to a death threat like that? And did she say she had received death threats before? They watched as she grinned and waved at Bakugo as the explosive blond huffed and left the room, slamming the door behind him.

"It's been a while since I've seen him that worked up." Kirishima said.

"Think it's impatience? Or hatred?" Tokoyami asked.

Akina looked at the door and let out a small sigh, at the rate he was going he'd be viewed more as a villain, and with that happening he might be involved in some trouble in the future. As she started to leave the classroom herself to prepare for patrol, she perked up as she heard the rustling of fabric from somewhere around the corner, accompanied by the faint smell of coffee. For some reason, she had the feeling that they might not be fighting robots.

But she was definitely okay with that. She was ready for whatever they were going to throw at her.
