Chapter 12

"No."

"Aw, come on All Might!" Akina exclaimed, an indignant look on her face. "Please, please, please! I won't know how much I need to train unless I fight you one on one!"

"Young Hayashi, I am aware you are powerful- and I'm sure you're aware of it as well, but you can't go around asking the teachers for fights."

It was currently the weekend, and Akina was spending her time at U.A making sure there were no break-ins while the students and most of the teachers were gone. Some teachers had come in to grade papers and help with security- one of those teachers being All Might, and since there were no students around he was in his skinny more skeletal form. Nezu had told Akina about All Might's second form so she wouldn't assume the man was a villain and try to beat him up.

"I haven't gone around asking the teachers for fights." Akina said, waving a dismissive hand in the air. "I've just challenged every teacher I've come across today to a fight. There's a difference!"

"Not... really." All Might said.

"Come on All Might! I've been itching for a good fight ever since I got here! You're the Number 1 Hero so I automatically have to fight you! It would be great training before the Festival!"

"I'm not fighting you. Nezu gave you free roam of the battle domes. You can find something to fight there. Those robots are good sparring partners."

Akina puffed up her cheeks, "Those are so predictable. I barely get any actual training from it."

"You're insane." All Might said. "It's almost like you're from a different planet or something."

"Yeah, or something." Akina sighed, then she let out a sigh, "I guess trying to convince you to fight me isn't gonna happen. I'll see you around." She walked out of the room, Sonos topping in the hallway in front of the windows. Looking out, she placed a hand to her chin in thought, Thinking if there was anyone she could fight. Maybe she could find some villains to fight somewhere.

"Akina: 3, Villain Group: 0!" Akina exclaimed, looking down at a now tied up villain group. As she was heading back to her apartment they just so happened to be robbing a jewelry store that was across the street. There were no heroes around yet so Akina just did the logical thing and jumped right in.

"Thank you, miss!" Someone said, and Akina turned to look behind her, where a Store Clerk was peeking his head out from under the counter, a woman doing the same right next to him. "We don't know what we would of done without you. We had called the cops but apparently there was a bigger villain attack downtown that needed the heroes attention."

"Huh? And they couldn't of spared a few men to help you guys out? That's stupid." She said, placing her hands on her hips.

"A-are you a newcomer hero?" The woman asked.

"Oh, no, I'm a U.A student! I'm training to become a hero but I'm not one just yet." Akina said, placing a hand on the back of her head.

"Are you a third year, then?"

Akina shook her head, "I'm a first year! Anyways, the cops are coming, right? Well, these guys should be out for a while and those vines of mine aren't going to rip apart that easily. As long as you wait outside for the police to arrive you'll be a-okay!"

"No way, she's only a first year and she beat down that whole group like it was nothing!" One of the people in the store said.

Those guys weren't that hard... Akina thought to herself. But I guess compared to magic and the experience I've had not a lot of the villains in this world won't be difficult for me to take down. After she made sure the people in the building were okay she headed out of the building, leaving the villains tied up just outside of the shop.

It wasn't like she fought them illegally, Nezu had given her a temporary hero license when she agreed to work for security. He had explained that in this world people weren't allowed to use their quirk in public unless they had a license, and in order to fight any villains that try to get onto U.A campus after school hours she needed to have a license so she didn't get in trouble with the police. Technically if she fought on school grounds she would be fine, but with villain fights the fight could easily go outside campus.

"I wish there were stronger villains." She muttered as she continued to head back to her apartment. "Then I'd have a real challenge."

The bell had rung to signify the end of the school day. As Akina packed up to head out, she heard a chatter from outside the classroom, it grew louder as more and more scents wafted into the room from the hallway.

Are people crowding the doorway? How're we going to get out? She wondered. And why are they here? She watched as Uraraka opened the door to reveal the crowd of students.

"Uhm, why the heck are you all here?!" She exclaimed.

"Do you students have some sort of business blocking our class?" Iida asked.

"They're scouting out the competition, idiots." Bakugo said as he walked up to stand in front of the crowd of students. "We're the class that survived a real villain attack. They wanted to see us with their own eyes." He stopped once he was at the doorway, glaring down the students closest to him. "At least now you know what a future pro looks like. Now move it, extras."

That won't do. Akina said, walking up and hitting Bakugo on the back of the head, hearing Midoriya scream in panic as she did so.

"Ah- hey, what the hell, Leaf girl!?" Bakugo shouted, looking at her with anger blazing in his eyes.

"Don't be fucking rude, Bakugo." She said, a dark aura surrounding her.

"So this is class 1-A, I heard you guys were impressive but you just sound like an ass." A boy said as he pushed his way forwards from the back of the crowd. Once he got to the front his gaze landed on Bakugo. He looked tired and smelled of coffee and cats. "Is everyone in the Hero course this delusional or just you?"

"Ah, sorry about him!" Akina answered for him as her classmates shook their heads as if they were trying to get the newcomer to stop talking. "This guy here has some anger issues, from what I hear it's gotten him into a lot of trouble in the past!" She had gone through the records of her classmates and knew about Bakugo's encounter with the slime villain, as well as the multiple reports of his anger issues from his middle school teachers.

"You, you're that girl that got transferred into the hero course a while back, weren't you?" The purple haired boy asked.

"In the flesh! Hayashi Akina, pleasure to meet you."

"You know, I wanted to be in the Hero Course. But like many others here I was forced to choose a different track. Such is life. I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance." He narrowed his eyes slightly. "If any of us do well in the Sports Festival, then teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course. And they'll have to transfer people out to make room. Scouting the competition? Maybe some of my peers are. But I'm here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best I'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."

"Woah! That's pretty cool! So if you didn't make it in by taking the exams you can still manage to make it into the hero course! Good going U.A!" Akina exclaimed with a toothy grin, much to the confusion of the crowd of students. "Consider this an acceptance to your declaration. I'm expecting you not to hold back, Turnip head."

The boy's eyes widened at her response, it seemed like he wasn't expecting her to respond like that.

"Hey you! I'm from class 1-B next door to you!" Someone shouted, pulling Akina's attention from the boy in front of her to another boy, one with silver hair and very noticeable white eyelashes. he had a strong scent of steel coming off of him. "We heard you fought some villains and I came to see if that was true! But you're just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us!"

Akina tilted her head, "When did we ever say that- ah, well hedgehog here did call you extras... but I promise we're all not like him. He's just an angry idiot, so do you guys think you could forgive him?" Akina asked.

She's handling this so well. The class thought as they watched the red-headed girl talk with the crowd.

"What!? No way in hell!" The boy shouted.

"Well, I tried." Akina said, shrugging as she shifted her bookbag. "I've gotta head out, so, have fun dealing with these guys, Explodo-boy." She said as she walked forwards, the crowd parting slightly as she did. Though before she walked too far she paused and turned to look back at the crowd, and her classmates, "Oh, and I do expect all of you to try your best, I'm looking forwards to a good challenge."

With that, she walked out of the building.
