Adi

Raksha did an amazing job setting the whole thing up. The wedding was being organised at James parent's house. The old couple was over joyed to know that their son once again decided to give love a chance. After he lost his wife and 3 year old daughter few years back, he had sworn never to risk the life of ones he loved. But the father in him couldn't stop from loving Anika who reminded him so much of his little daughter. My eyes went to Anika who now was seated between her adoptive grandparents, enjoying the attention and love they showered on her.

The wedding was attended by all James' relatives and cousins, as we became the family for Anjali. The funny part was, she pushed Dipika to help me in every job and stuck herself to Veer.  Time and again I would come across Veer's grumpy expression but the girls seemed to have their own fun. I was ready to change the helping partner but my partner decided to go with my would be wife. I wasn't sure if I would live to see the wedding had been doing so many preparations for, Veer kept throwing mad glances at me warning me time and again. All I could do was to hang my head in helplessness, ''Your brother will kill me.'' I said as soon as I caught hold of Raksha.

''No he won't, he can just threaten. So just chill.'' 

''Do you even care for me? Veer had warned me about killing me if I don't step away from Dipika.''

''Then tell his wife, she will handle him nicely.'' Raksha replied casually.

''That's a temporary relief, the moment he finds me alone I am dead.'' She chuckled threw her arms around my neck and locked her eyes with mine, ''He wouldn't dare. he messed with me the other day, I took my revenge engaging Dipika with you. He touches you, I swear he won't be able to touch his wife again.'' She said that in way that I couldn't help but smile.

Pulling her closer, I pecked the tip of her nose, ''Thanks for making it beautiful for James and Anjali.''

She smiled, ''My final gift is pending.'' I frowned, she moved out and walked away in the direction of the couple. I followed curious to know what was she talking about. She hugged Anjali close, ''Its time for my gift. Shaan has been send back to India and he is never going to trouble you.''  Anjali stood speechless, her eyes then glistened as she hugged Raksha again, ''You know something, you are a Princess in every sense and you proved it. Thanks!''

''After the way I behaved with you, consider this as my apology.'' She replied Anjali with a smile

''You secured my daughter's future. tell me if I can be of any help.''

Raksha thought, ''Umm..Okay as ist kind of a ritual for our families to send kids abroad, I will count on you in ours comes here.'' Anjali nodded , ''Anika will me his or her manager.''

''No, its not her duty. Let her be what she wants to. And you are our friend, just be that.'' Turning to Anika , she knelt, ''What do you want to do when you grow up?''

''I want to play football.''Anika replied , a big smile stretched on her lips. Raksha caressed her cheek, ''So be it.'' 

We congratulated the couple , Veer Dipika gifted them a honeymoon . James didn't wanted to leave owing to my security, but I pushed him. he deserves this happiness, more than the couple , Anika looked excited. James' parents offered to take care of her but James wanted to take her along. 

''Can I have my wife back.'' Veer asked all grumpy. Seriously , this guy is mad. 

''I was never holding her. Guess she got bored of you.'' I replied tongue in cheek.

Before he could react, I got save by Raksha, ''Dare you put a finger on him.'' Veer looked from me to Raksha, ''You guys actually suit each other, such betrayer. One forgot his best friend after getting a girl and she forgot her elder brother after getting a useless guy.''

''And you are a mellow drama.'' Came Dipika's voice, ''Will you let them breathe.'' She didn't let him speak and dragged him away leaving us alone. Thank God for that!

''You have just 3 months left, is your crazy brother staying till then?'' I asked

''yes, that fellow isn't going back without me. Good news, your Dad had a word with Granny about our wedding.'' She said with a huge grin

I sighed, ''Raksha, there is a thing. Mom is still against our relationship, she has even started getting proposals for me.''

''Let her, you are going to marry me. Like this or that.'' She replied unaffected

''What's THIS OR THAT.''

She smiled, ''This, you will marry me happily with your family by your side, ready to shower us with the blessings. THAT, I don't care who agrees and who don't, I will get you abducted and get married. All I have to do is shed a couple of tears and my elder brother will hold you captive forever.''

I gaped at her all shocked, ''You will get me abducted?''

''yes, if you now go back on your decision because of your mother.'' She warned playfully

''Did I say I am not going to marry you?. I asked, crossing my arms over my chest

''Well, you didn't but you hinted . Since Rathores don't beat around the bush, I decided to come straight to the point.''

I watched her for a moment, ''You are possessive about me, aren't you?''

She took a step closer, slowly her arms went around my neck. Moving her lips closer to mine she whispered, ''I am not possessive, I am mad about you Aditya Ranawat. No one, and nothing can stand between us.'' With that her lips landed on mine , she kissed me deep and passionate , not allowing me a moment to breathe. ''To have you as mine I can get you in trouble too Adi. I am not losing my love again.'' She looked serious. I am aware what I told her about my mother has disturbed her somewhere, yet she is keeping a brave face.

Still holding her my her waist, I cupped her cheek with my other palm, ''I have loved you even before I understood the real meaning of it. I fell in love with Raksha , who innocently tagged along with her naughty brother even after he rebuffed her multiple times. I loved the Raksha who was so innocent that she couldn't comprehend that her brother at times made a fool out of her. I was in love with her innocence and her honesty. Then I lost touch with her, when I saw her again, I fell for her anger her hatred and her arrogance towards me. The more I tried to stay away, the more I got pulled to her. And now when I hold her in my arms, I fell deep again for the fire she has in her eyes for me.''

She watched me bewitched, emotional and lost. There were million emotions that transpired between us. Till date she knew I loved her but I never confessed how much. ''You ruined me for anyone Adi. I love you so much.'' With that she threw her arms around my neck hugging me tight, wrapping my arms around her waist I lifted her off the earth twirling her , she squealed all excited making my heart dance.

''Me!'' A small baby voice broke are stance, when I looked down found Vikram looking at me with hopeful eyes, his arms lifted waiting for his turn of joy ride like his aunt just had.

''It has to be Veer! He couldn't interrupt so he decided to use this little baby.'' Raksha looked mad. Well, I was fine. Putting her down, I lifted the little crown Prince up twirling him around. He giggled happily throwing his head back , ''You like it sweet boy.''

He nodded with a clap. I threw him up in air and caught him as he squealed. Raksha gently wrapped her arm around my waist, coming closer she whispered, ''That intruder brother of mine is peeping in. Let's start the game.'' I nodded

''Adi, don't you think Vikram is exactly like Veer. A bone.'' That was loud.

''No, he just looks like Veer , all other things are like his mother. This is why his company is so pleasant. Had he taken his mother's beautiful looks, I am sure he would have been just perfect.'' I replied, keeping an eye on peeping Veer.

Raksha pressed her lips to hide her laughter, ''So you too agree that Dipika is one of the most beautiful woman you have ever seen?'' She asked all mischievous

I glared at her, this female is going to get me in trouble. If I acknowledge her words she will get me murdered at the hands of my own friend. Raksha pleaded to go along through her eyes, I didn't wanted to but complied. Love makes you do stupid things, ''Yes, I believe so.'' I gave in, worried about the consequences. 

''I pity her, she is like a beautiful Princess trapped in the dungeon of a big bad wolf.'' She said as if pitying Dipika. Raksha will definitely get me murdered, I am not going to acknowledge Veer as a Big Bad wolf.

''We should leave. All guests have already left.'' I tried changing the topic. I took a sigh of relief when she agreed, ''We will go to your place.'' She suggested all chirpy

''yes, I desperately need a guard to protect me from your brother as James is out on his honeymoon.'' As we stepped out, I found Veer leaning against his car , his eyes fixed on me dangerously, Silly guy.

''You guys carry on, I am going with Adi.'' Raksha informed

''No, you are coming with us.'' Veer passed the order

''Veer, if you don't leave now. I promise to teach your son to be a bone in your romance for life. You know I can and I will. The choice is yours.'' She warned

Thankfully Dipika intervened, ''You carry on Raksha, this guy is mad.''

''Yes I am. '' With that he got into his car banging the door shut. ''Raksha, he is mad. I don't want my friend mad at me.''

''He is mad for no reason, if you go behind him I will go mad.''

I huffed, ''Hail you Dipika for handling a mad husband and equally mad Sister-in –Law.'' She just laughed as Raksha pinched me. Walking to the vehicle , I leaned closer to have view of my grumpy friend, ''Now why are behaving like a kid?''

'' Nothing, go before this Big Bad wolf bite your back.'' he warned with a smile

''You will always be my best friend Veer, your belief on me matters than any other rathore. I hope you believe me to take a good care of your sister.'' 

''I do, and on the serious note what option are you left with? You make her cry, you know what will we do.'' There again, gone is my friend and back is the Raghuveer Rathore. Moving out he gave me a tight hug, ''Have fun, just don't get married or it will be a scandal  back home.'' he took Vikram from me, ''Stop being a bone!''

The little guy frowned at the name. I guess Veer uses that too much and he doesn't like it. Shaking his head , he quickly lunged back into my arms, not ready to go back. Veer smirked, getting in his car he looked at Raksha, ''You were planning to teach him to be a bone between me and my wife, I made him a bone in your romance without teaching him anything. I will always be your big brother. Now, happy baby sitting while I will have some romantic time off.''

Before Dipika could protest, he pulled her in driving off as we stood gaping at the leaving car. We stared at each other and burst into giggles. Together we pecked Vikram on either side, which he quickly wiped off. Someday it would be our kid, I wish it to be a daughter. Many feel that Ranawat family is cursed not to have been blessed with a daughter for generations, even my sister died at the age of 4. I hope my girl breaks the curse, bringing light to my adobe.
