Chapter 7

Because of being so tired, Eris fell asleep. She only spent a little time sleeping because she felt someone caressing her hair. So she slowly opened her eyes.

Her eyelids were heavy but she had to get up and the person who was caressing her earlier was no longer in front of her. But she was very surprised when she looked around.

She's at Villa del Francia again. She wondered how she got there when she had just returned home.

She noticed that there was no one anywhere. The place is very quiet and cozy. Suddenly the boy Sky appeared in front of her.

"Sister Eris, let's play!" He held her hand and just followed him wherever the boy went.

Sky laughs as he runs with her. His smile is so genuine that he seems free and without problems. Eris smiled at what she witnessed. She remembered her father when she was young. This was their usual game.

They stopped running and Sky let go of her hand then sadly faced her.

"This is enough. Goodbye, sister."

"Where are you going?" Eris asked but the boy didn't answer and just turned away.

He slowly walked away.

"Sky wait!" She tried to chase the boy but her wits almost eluded her when Sky suddenly burst into flames.

She backed away from the overwhelming fear she felt. Her bristles stood on end. She wanted to run away from there but her legs didn't want to move.

She was even more shocked when the surroundings looked different. From the green nature, a fire suddenly flared up causing its color to darken. She heard the loud cries of many voices.

"Stop bothering me! I don't want this anymore please! I can't help you! Don't pester me!" Eris said in fear.

After a while, she felt a cold hand touch her. Sky exposed himself to her with tears of blood.

"Let me go!" She struggled from withdrawing her hands from him but the boy wouldn't let her go.

"Let go of me!" She screamed loudly and at the same time, everyone disappeared.

"Eris, daughter! What is happening to you?!" Her mother looked at her with a worried face.

"Mommy!" She quickly hugged her mother and cried on her shoulder. It's all just a dream.

"Enough, I'm here. Tell me, what's wrong?"

"Mommy, they don't want to stop from bothering me. They ask me for help. They often visit me in my dreams." She continued crying.

"Who?" Her crying only got louder when her mother asked her. She shook her head in response.

"It was just a dream, okay? Hold on, Eris. Rest your body and your mind." She stroked her back to calm her down and it worked. Her mother didn't leaver her until she fell asleep again.

The next day she woke up early. She was able to rest well with the help of her mother. She felt better. She energetically walked towards the kitchen where her Mommy was busy cooking their breakfast.

"Good morning, Mom!" She hugged her from behind after greeting her.

"Good morning, sweetie. How's your sleep?" She asked her with a smile.

"It's fine, Mom."

"That's good!" She smiled at her mother and turned to her father who was sitting on the sofa while drinking coffee. He is also busy reading the newspaper.

"Good morning, Dad!"

"You're energetic today, hija."
"Of course!"

"Let's eat!" Her mother said happily while serving the food she cooked. Eris immediately came to it and smelled the things her mother had laid out.

"Dad, let's eat! Mommy's cooking is so delicious! Hmm, Mommy will sulk to you if you refuse."

"I'll be coming, sweetie!" As he said, he also followed her to the dining table.

In the middle of their eating, their doorbell rang. Eris quickly peeked through the window and saw her friend Aya outside the gate that's being opened by the guard. She immediately greeted her upon entering.

"Aya! Come in!"

"Woah! What did you eat and you're lively today?" She raised her eyebrows.

"Nothing. Come on, come eat with us." She immediately pulled her friend into their house. She instantly greeted the couple and even kissed them on the cheeks.

"How are you, Aya?" Eris' mom began when they sat down.

"I'm fine, Auntie. I just came to help Eris with our research papers. For sure, our professor will check it when Monday comes," Aya answered.

"Hmm, I see. Good luck for both of you!"

"Thank you, Aunt!"

When they finished their meal, they immediately started compiling the data they had gathered. The couple left because they had something to attend to.

"We're almost done. The only thing missing is your part," Eris said while busy typing on her laptop.

"Of course, I won't be late! This is it, it's complete. Just type it!" She showed Eris the paper she was carrying. Eris smiled at what she gave.

"You really are the best, Aya!"

"Absolutely!"

She started typing the information into the computer. Aya edited their entire output. It is not yet final because Mrs. Mandela will verify it first. After what they were doing, the two decided to go window shopping, a reward for themselves.

"Eris, hurry up! Just get changed, it's your time! Don't beautify yourself because even if you look like a beggar, you're absolutely beautiful!" She laughed at what she heard from Aya so she hurried to change her clothes.

"I'm done!" She winked at Aya.

"Let's go!" Aya walked ahead of Eris. But before she even went out the door, she stopped.

"What's the matter?" Eris wondered.

"I think..."

"Hey?" She approached her friend and held her by the shoulder. She faced Aya to her. Her face was pale.

"Hey, what's going on?" Eris asked confused.

The friend does not answer. It looks like she's going to collapse at any moment. She stroked her back and was surprised by what happened next. Suddenly, a very black vomit spewed from Aya's mouth.

"Aya! Aya!" The woman fell to the ground and continued to vomit. She emits something unusual. She can't even figure out what it is but she feels that something bad is happening to her friend.

She remembered again about the article she had read. She wanted to ask the lady but now was not the time.

"Guard! Guard!" She shouted loudly. The guard came quickly and was slightly surprised by what he witnessed.

"What is going on here, Ma'am Eris?"

"I don't know either. Just help me get Aya to bed inside first."

The guard immediately obeyed what she said. Aya had stopped vomiting but was still pale.

"Hey, what did you eat?"

"Eris, I didn't eat anything else," She said weakly.

"How are you feeling now?"

Aya slowly got up from her seat and seemed to be thinking, "Does something hurt you?" Eris asked but she just shook her head.

"Why did you throw up so black?"

The guard was currently cleaning up Aya's vomit.

"I don't know either, Eris. I don't know. I don't feel anything right now but before I threw up, I felt dizzy."

"Let's not go any further. Just rest first. Your body must have been shocked. You should also get a checkup, huh?" Aya nodded at her.

"Perhaps, I think."

"I'll bring you home." Eris immediately stood up and took her key. She also supported Aya to her car before making her sit in it.

Aya rested her head on the headrest. She felt that she lost her strength because of what happened. When Eris delivered her to the dorm she was staying in, she brought her inside. She even gave her water.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm just tired, Eris. I just need to rest."

"It's even better. Can you stay here alone?"

"Yeah. Thanks for bringing me home."

"No worries. Just call me when you need something, okay?" Aya nodded before smiling.

"I'll leave you for now. Get better."

"Hmm." Eris finally left her room and walked towards the main gate. She looked at her room before driving her car back to their house.
