Chapter 36
Author's note:
No one guessed what Dex said in Sophie's ear. I guess it will remain a secret forever now.
Percy Jackson was on fire.
Well, not literally, but his body felt like it. His body was a literal whirlwind of pain. But more painful was the fact that he had been defeated and captured by a bunch of dragons that didn't even breath fire. Gods, his ego was hurt. It didn't mattered that he was outnumbered ten to one.
In the last five days, he had been drugged and kidnapped, met a hybrid elf with super powers, drugged again and sent to a hospital, and now he was under the effects of a drug again.
Great. Just perfect.
He had been out under the effect of some green smoky drug, and his other friends had met the same fate. But, maybe because he was a son of Poseidon, the drug had milder effect on him, and he was in a sort of paralysed consciousness in the last part of the journey, wherever they were taking him.
He felt that he was heaped on the top of an eight year old kid (how embarrassing!) and was flying, probably on a dragon. After a while, he felt the dragon descent.
He felt himself being thrown somewhere like a potato sack and he was pretty sure there was going to be a bruise on his hip. But the stupid drug didn't let him move, still.
He heard someone talking, "Foolish heroes. Barging in trouble head first. I thought Y had more sense than that."
"Which is what worries me. Y would have more sense that making a plan that gets them all captured."
"Oh leave it, stupid. You are giving her too much credit that what's worth. She couldn't have possibly known about our potion. It was top secret."
After that they abruptly stopped talking, and heard a few more thuds, indicating some of his had been captured too.
He mentally groaned at his lack of ability to move.
"Hey look. The water boy is conscious, drug him."
Water boy? That's what they call him. That's the top level insult.
He moved his head slightly away from the voice, but it was no use and he was pulled under the influence of the drug again, this time under a deep sleep.

Percy's back was sore. He felt himself groggy sit up and blinked his eyes to focus. He moved his neck right and left and opened and closed his wrist, and then he looked around himself. He was surrounded by people getting back their bearings.
He looked around to see who was there. Marella. Annabeth. Fitz. Sandor. Tyson. Hazel. Biana. Dex. Jason. Slowly his eyes scanned the crowd, but gave up later on. There were simply too many of them to keep track.
They were in a garden in a sort of cage, one's that are used for circus animals. Percy felt it was supposed to make him feel insulted, but could work in his favour. Frank could easily turn into a fly and go out.
Speaking of which, Frank was missing. He went close to the bars and tried to pass his hands through it, but was met with an invisible shield.
Of course.
The cage had to be both humiliating and safe. He saw, some distance off, another cage, with the shifters in it.
All of them were still drugged, and sleeping. He assumed, that the cage was to prevent them from transforming. He vaguely remembered Annabeth telling him that J was the most powerful shifter.
The others around him slowly came to their senses, and stood up. Percy turned to Annabeth, "Please tell me you have a plan."
Annabeth nodded, "I do, just waste some time." Her eyes were scanning the crowd of people, and her fingers were moving on one another, indicating that she was counting, but she gave up eventually too.
Dyslexia is one ass of a problem.
Before Annabeth could explain whatever plan she had for them, the metal doors of the garden opened with a creak, and ten shifters walked in.
In the middle of them, with his head held high, a little too high, in fact, that he looked arrogant, was a boy with blonde hair.
He had brown eyes, and straight slicked hair stuck to his forehead.
Despite his absolutely Lucius Malfoy-ish appearance, he was a scary sight. Percy knew, that he could be very persuasive, and terrifying if he wanted to.
Well, good luck terrifying Percy.
He walked closer to their cage and drawled ( Somehow he managed to make his voice both teasing and sharp), "Well, our famous heroes are finally awake."
"What can I say K? Your hospitality is so good, I felt right into deep sleep." Percy replied. Sarcasm was the best way to waste time.
"Joke all you want..."
"Why thank you. I would have done it if you had forbidden it. After all, I am famous for my rule breaking." Keefe said, from beside him.
K opened his mouth to reply, but couldn't think of anything, so went with the standard, "You think I am stupid?"
"Yes, but I don't see its relevance with the current situation." Sophie said.
K opened and closed his mouth like a gold fish, and out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the parrot, which had been sitting on the tree, turn into a tiny squirrel and run towards K.
Another shifter became K's saving grace, "K, should I reveal Lady, so we can get on with killing them? They are being annoying."
K nodded and the said shifter went and pulled a lever Percy hadn't previously noticed.
And immediately, as if an invisible veil had been removed, a patch of grass to his right, was revealed.
It had glowing yellow ring in the grass and in the middle of the ring, was the most beautiful, splendid, graceful dragon he had ever seen.
It was blackish purple in colour, with its wings spread behind it. It had blue wings, spread like a butterfly, with purple tinted borders and veins. It's long neck was spread like a swan, its hind legs bent at the knee, and tail curled softly behind itself.
Percy couldn't help but gape in awe at the beautiful creature in front of him.
K said, breaking him out of his reverie, "So, before we kill you, tell us, why you decided to help Lady, and not us. After all, the prophecy mentioned killing the drakon, not helping her."
Percy had that question in his mind too, Annabeth answered, "You know, the best way to find out the right side in a civil war, is the side of the people. When I was disguised as G, people looked at me with fear, terror."
"But when we were moving around the place with W, Y and J, people looked at them with hopeful eyes. That's says loads about who is right."
"People are stupid." K said.
"Takes one to know one." Percy said with a smirk.
K fumed and ordered, "Awaken the traitors. We will kill these heroes in front of them."
Author's note:
There you go, little people.
Anyone who guesses why the prophecy says kill the dragon, when clearly they are the right side, will get a dedication. (Please reply in DMs so as not to spoil. )
