Outside, the cool night air was a stark contrast to the suffocating atmosphere of The Anne House. Sara and Leanna leaned against their car, trying to steady their racing hearts. They had barely escaped with their lives, and the realisation of what they had encountered was sinking in.
"We can't go back in there," Leanna said, her voice trembling. "It's too dangerous."
Sara nodded, her own fear mirrored in Leanna's eyes. "I agree. But we need to understand what happened. We need to find out why that spirit is so angry."
Leanna sighed, wiping a tear from her cheek. "I know. But we need a plan. We can't just rush back in."
They decided to stay outside for a while, trying to gather their thoughts and formulate a new strategy. As they sat in the car, watching the house, they saw a shadow move in one of the windows. It was broad daylight, but the sight still sent chills down their spines.
"What do you think it is?" Leanna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sara shook her head. "I don't know. But whatever it is, it's powerful. We need to be careful."
They decided to contact a local historian, hoping to uncover more about The Anne House's dark past. They found an old library in town and began searching through records and newspaper archives.
After hours of digging, they discovered a series of tragic events linked to the house. In the late 1800s, a family had lived there—a man, his wife, and their young daughter. The daughter had died under mysterious circumstances, and shortly after, the wife was found dead as well. The
man, consumed by grief and rage, had vanished, leaving behind a legacy of sorrow and anger.
"This explains so much," Sara said, looking at the old newspaper clipping. "The child's spirit is trapped, and the man's anger is what's haunting the house."
Leanna nodded. "But why now? Why is it getting more intense?"
Sara thought for a moment. "Maybe our presence is stirring things up. We're provoking the spirits, and they're reacting."
They returned to the house, determined to conduct one final investigation. They knew it was dangerous, but they couldn't leave without trying to help the trapped spirits.
