Chapter 2: The Arrival
The drive to Winona was filled with a mix of anticipation and unease. Sara and Leanna chatted about their expectations and the stories they had heard about The Anne House. As they approached the house, an eerie feeling washed over them. The house, a large Victorian structure, stood ominously at the end of a long, winding driveway. Its windows seemed to stare back at them like empty eyes.
"This place gives me the creeps," Leanna said, clutching her bag tightly.
Sara nodded. "Yeah, it feels off. But we'll be fine. Let's get our stuff inside."
They parked the car and began unloading their equipment. The air was thick with an almost tangible tension. As they stepped inside, the cold, musty air of the house enveloped them. The floorboards creaked under their feet, and every sound seemed to echo unnaturally.
"Let's set up the base camp in the living room," Sara suggested. "It's central, and we can keep an eye on all our gear."
As they worked, setting up cameras and unpacking their equipment, the house seemed to watch them silently. They found a strange comfort in their familiar routine, but the silence of the house was unnerving.
"Ready for the night?" Leanna asked, trying to sound braver than she felt.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Sara replied. But deep down, a part of her was already regretting their decision. She couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.
As night fell, the house seemed to come alive. Shadows stretched and twisted in the dim light of their equipment. The atmosphere grew heavier, almost suffocating. Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the house.
Sara and Leanna froze, their eyes wide with fear. "What was that?" Leanna whispered.
"I don't know," Sara replied, her voice shaking. "But I think we're about to find out."
