Chapter 8

N~
When I woke up the next morning, I went to go check on Touko. She was fast asleep in her tent dreaming away. For some reason, every time I saw Touko, my heart starts to beat loudly and I have the feeling to protect her, and that beautiful face. I hated to see her in pain, and for some reason, I didn't feel so lost around her, my head felt soothed. I smiled and went to pack some things up for the trip. Just then, I noticed Zekrom's pokeball on a nearby log. I picked it up and let it out to see how it was doing, and just as I thought, it was weak and its wing was still frozen solid. I pet its head. "Are you feeling any better?" I asked it. Yes, thank you. I heard a voice reply. "Whoa, was that you?" I asked in shock, my eyes wide. Touko was right, you must of gotten amnesia, you don't remember that you can talk to Pokemon. It said in disappointment. I somehow felt ashamed, but then I smiled. "Well, I know now. So do you need anything?" I asked. I do need to talk to you about something, N. Zekrom replied, and from there I was all ears. I can help you and Touko regain your memories, for I have received a message from my other half. I thought to myself, Other half? What does it mean by that? I shook my head and tried to listen some more. It said that once you conquer Dragonspiral Tower and discover more secrets, you must head to the Pokemon league, there you will decode your confusion, and return to your normal selves. Zekrom let out a low growl and nodded. That is all it told me. I sat down. The Pokemon League, as well as Dragonspiral Tower... Is the key to regaining our memories? But why? How?! I wondered. I turned to Zekrom. "Thank you, my friend. You have really helped me, get better soon." I said as I returned it back into its pokeball. Just then I heard footsteps approach me: it was Touko, she was finally awake.

"N? You've packed up already! Thank you! How long have you been up?" she asked.

"Oh, a few minutes I guess..." I replied meekly. Touko smiled, grabbed her bag and folded her tent. She went over to my tent and began to fold it, but when I reached out to stop her, Touko flinched and rubbed her forehead. "Touko! Are you alright?" I frantically asked.

"Yeah... I'm fine, I just felt a shock in my head that's all..." she replied, continuing to fold my tent. I quickly grabbed her arm.

"It's ok. You rest, I'll fold it." I offered. She returned my offer with a straight face and crossed her arms.

"You've been doing everything ever since we left. Come on, it's my turn now." She didn't even wait for an answer from me. She put the tent into her backpack, zipped it up, and slid it onto her shoulder. "Alrighty, let's get going!" she finally announced and started to look at her map. "We're here, and we need to make it to the closest Pokemon Center which is in... Iccurus City! And, if we go up from there, we'll reach Dragonspiral Tower in no time flat!" Good, that will save us time! We'll regain our memories sooner! I thought to myself.

"Hey! Are you two lost?" we heard a voice asked suddenly. I turned around to see a young boy about Touko's age with brown hair, a blue jacket, and a red and white hat. I found Touko grinning as she ran up to him and hugged him.

"Hey N, this is Black, a childhood friend of mine and a rival. You've met him before remember?" she explained.

"Uh, yeah, right." I lied back to her. He looked familiar, like he had done something wrong to me.

"Thank Arceus you're here! Zekrom is hurt and its our only transportation out of here. Can you help us find Iccurus City?" Touko asked. Before Black could reply, I quickly grabbed Touko and pulled her close to me with my injured arm. It hurt, but I didn't care, I just needed her with me.

"We're completely fine finding Iccurus City alone!" I found myself growling at him. "We have a map and Pokemon capable of defending us, so if you excuse us, we'll be on our way." I started to drag Touko with me in the direction of Iccurus City, but she pulled her arm away from my grasp.

"N, stop acting like a little kid. I know you don't remember him, you can't hide that from me, but you can trust him." she scolded me. "Now come on, or else we're leaving you behind." My chest felt like it was stabbed with a sharp sword and I looked down, burying my eyes in the shade of my hat so that she couldn't see the pain in my heart. Silently, I followed her and Black into the forrest.
