Chapter 12
N~
"No! Touko!" I cried as she was lifted into the air. You need to help her! Zorua whimpered, pawing my leg. "I- I can't feel any part of my body!" I winced trying to get myself off the ground. Zorua frantically looked around and transformed into a Kabutops. Come on! I'll carry you up! said Zorua as it picked me up. It jumped from one side of the building to the other, making the climbing process faster. Yes! We're almost there! it beamed. Suddenly, a shadow ball hit Zorua on the shoulder and I could feel it loose its grip on me and topple over. It threw me onto the stairs just in time before it fell to the floor below and transformed out of its Kabutops form. I looked over to see a man with black clothing on and a Crobat. Somehow, the symbol on his chest looked familiar.
"Don't let him get away!" he ordered to the Crobat. Yes, master. it replied as it took off for me. Just then, Zorua hit it with a dark pulse attack, sending it flying to the ground. I'll hold it off! You go save Touko! it ordered, hitting the Crobat with another dark pulse. I nodded and looked at the stairs before me. Zorua got me much closer to the top than before, but it still looked like a long away from me. I groaned as I tried to get up and stand. I was successful, but the pain of my injuries felt worse than ever before and I collapsed onto my knees. I have to do it! Touko's in danger! I thought, slowly starting to crawl up the stairs. Pain rushed through my head and arm with each step, but I kept going. I heard Zorua and Crobat battling below me, their attacks crashing and exploding into each other. One attack hit an area close to me and the impact shook the stairs, sending me straight into a rock that was wedged into it. I felt a hard blow on the side of my head; everything went white for a split second and when I tried to focus, I saw dark blotches that blinded my vision. I-I can't see! I must of hit a nerve or something... I thought. I tried to feel my way up the stairs, still crawling and double over in pain. For the first time since yesterday, I was scared. I didn't even know the reason this time. The fact I would loose Touko, the fact I might be injured for life, or the fact that there is a danger lurking around that we don't know the location of? I kept climbing. I started thinking why, why was I doing this, trying to regain my memory? For my sake? For Touko's? The world's? I could tell my mind was drifting off into many directions. I can't let this distract me! I need to focus on saving Touko! I thought. I noticed a bright light emitting in front of me. I must be at the top! The dark botches faded and I could see someone laying on the ground, a Pokemon, and another person. When my vision cleared, my heart almost stopped when I saw that the person on the ground, was Touko.
"Touko!" I cried, running over to her. Her eyes were closed, but she was breathing. I caught the attention of the other person, a girl in the same clothes as the man I saw, and she turned to me. "What did you do to her?!" I demanded. The girl laughed.
"She's only asleep." she replied nonchalantly. "Sigilyph just hypnotized her, that's all." she started to twirl a strand of her light orange hair with her finger. "And besides, she wouldn't give us any answers." A loud growl gurgled from my throat and I stood up.
"Answers?! What do you want from us?!" I asked her, gritting my teeth.
"Oh, I don't want anything from you two..." she said. "...yet." She then nodded and the Sigilyph came forward. It started charging an attack and I crouched down, protecting Touko, but then I noticed that it was hesitating. "Sigilyph, what are you doing?! Shoot him already!" the girl ordered. I looked at the Sigilyph and sensed guilt within it. I'm sorry, lord N! it cried as it shot yellow and pink rings at me and everything faded to black.
