*Amnesia* Part 1

How ya doin' guys? glaceon346 here! PLZ READ THIS SO *Amnesia* MAKES SENSE! I had this great idea to explain to you guys what actually happened before the main story took place. Above this is a remix of of N's Farewell which is personally one of my favorite remixes! Hope you like!

OH! PLZ READ THIS PART!!!
To clear things up, lemme tell you where this story takes place:
This takes place in an alternate universe where the battle with Ghetsis (Pokemkn B/W game) turns out differently. Ghetsis already comes up with the plan to take Kyurem and "free" all of the Pokemon before Rosa/Nate begins their journey. Instead, Kyurem is tricked into it rather than captured, like in the game. N and Touko still have their battle (truth VS ideals), but the battle with Ghetsis... Well... Turns out differently that expected. You'll see.

Now... On to the story!!!

Touko's POV~
"Your Pokemon... Just now, it was saying..." the man said thoughtfully.

"Um, excuse me?" I asked.

"Try talking a little slower, buddy." Black said, grabbing onto my shoulder. "Her Pokemon? Talking?"

"Yes, they're talking." The man's face then saddened. "Oh. Then, you two can't hear it, either... How sad. My name is N." He held out his hand. I went to shake it, but Black quickly grabbed my wrist before I could.

"N, huh? Okay, I'm Black," he said pointing to himself. "This is Touko and over there is Cheren. We're on a journey to complete the Pokedex for Professor Juniper,"

"The Pokedex, eh? So... You're going to confine many, many Pokemon in pokeballs for that, then. I'm a trainer, too, but I can't help wondering... Are Pokemon really happy that way?" N speculated. I cocked my head.

"Well, Snivy seems happy with me," I said to my green partner. She grinned and climbed onto my shoulder, nuzzling my cheek. I pet her head. "Aren't you, buddy?" N looked at me curiously before taking out a pokeball.

"As long as Pokemon are confined in pokeballs... Pokemon will never become perfect beings. I have to change the world for Pokemon, because they're my friends." He gazed at his pokeball briefly before sending out a Purloin. "Well, Touko, is it? Let me hear your Pokemon's voice again!"

"Whoa whoa whoa, a battle?! Now?! Touko, you really want to-" I interrupted Black.

"Yup! Snivy! Let's go!" I exclaimed. N grunted and the battle begun.

"Alright, Snivy! Nacrene City! Let's- oof!" I bumped into someone and quickly pulled back, spotting the signature green hair of his swing around. "Oh, N! You're here too!" I said. He stared at me for a second before smiling gently.

"Nice to see you, Touko." he said, stuffing his hands into his pockets. I noticed the odd cube attached to him, but quickly looked away.

"Hey N?"

"Hm?"

"What's your goal in life? You already said that you're a trainer, but you don't like seeing Pokemon in pokeballs..." I asked. N hesitated for a while.

"I... want to see things no one can see." he replied. "The truths of Pokemon inside pokeballs. The ideals of how trainers should be. And a future where Pokemon have become perfect... Do you feel the same?"

"Oh," I said, surprised by his sudden question. "Yeah, I guess. I want what's best for Snivy and my future Pokemon! I love it when Snivy, or even, any other Pokemon is happy! It makes me happy too," Once again, N looked into my blue eyes curiously. I didn't take my sight off of him until he looked away, somewhat embarrassed.

"Ah, I see. I... I never knew someone felt that way too..." he stammered. I noticed a small smile on his face before he turned to face me. "I think my friends and I should test you to see if you can really see this future too."
~
"Right now, my friends and I aren't strong enough to save all of the Pokemon..." N said as he returned his fainted Pokemon into their pokeballs. "So... Then I need power. Power strong enough to make everyone agree with me." My eyes widened.

"P-power?!" I stuttered. This wasn't like the N I met last time. No, he was caring and concerned. This time, he felt... So...

"Yes. Now I know what power I need!" N interrupted my thoughts. "Reshiram! The legendary Pokemon that, along with the hero, created the Unova region. It's my turn to become that hero-" he paused, taking my hands into his. I flinched. "-and you and I will be friends!" I shook him off, my cheeks red. I was never touched like that by a guy before, but I felt all warm inside, like I ate a hot tomato berry. "Oh... Sorry... I um... Sorry... That was rude of me." N stammered. "T-Touko!" I turned around slowly. "L-lets meet again some time!" He called before running the other direction. Why did I feel this way?

"Augh! They got away again!" Cheren growled. Black and I looked around for the Plasma grunts, but Cheren was right. "Alright! Split up! Touko, go to the Ferris wheel." I nodded and ran all the way to the other side of town towards the huge rotating wheel. I stared at it in awe as footsteps approached me.

"Hello, Touko." I heard a familiar voice greet behind me. I spun around and found N standing there, his hands behind his back. I began to remember what happened back at Nacrene City and blushed.

"H-hi, N." I said, waving. We were silent for a while before N spoke again.

"You're looking for Team Plasma, right? They ran into the amusement park, so you're looking in the right place..." He exhaled as he held out his hand to me. "Come with me."

"W-what?"

"I mean, they're not here, so let's ride the Ferris wheel and see if we can spot them! I'll pay." he explained, a smile on his face. His hand was still outstretched and I kept gaze my at it. He seemed to be waiting for me to take it. At least he's being patient with me, now. I thought. But... After what he said back at Nacrene City... Should I go? I thought for a while before I put my hand gently into his. I can still trust him. It's not like he's done anything bad. N stared at my hand in his grasp. "I love Ferris wheels. The circular motion... The mechanics... They're like collections of elegant formulas..." he stated quietly. His fingers enclosed around it as he silently guided me to the entrance. We got into the cart and it soon started to rise. I placed my hand on the window, peering at the sight before me: It was the city of Nimbassa. I sighed, but just then, N copied me, placing his hand fairly close to mine. I looked at him and he returned my look with a gentle smile. Soon, it turned into a nervous face as he blurted out: "I'm the King of Team Plasma." I blinked.

"You-you're the leader of those freaks?!" I cried, taking back my hand. The one he touched.

"N-no... Ghetsis asked me to work with him to save Pokemon." N rephrased, but it didn't phase me.

"All this time, you were working for that maniac?!" I yelled.

"Touko, Ghetsis is my father!" N stated firmly.

"Oh, NOW you're telling me he's your FATHER?!" I shrieked. N feel silent.

"I..." was all he managed to say before the Ferris wheel stopped and we were asked to get off. As soon as we got off, I began to stomp away, but N caught my hand. "Wait! Touko I-"

"Would you stop that?!" I demanded, shaking his hand off. "Just get away from me-"

"No, Touko! You don't understand! Team Plasma is still out here! I have to protect you, go, quickly, and let my battle cover your retreat!" Embarrassment and rage bubbled within me as I threw out my Servine.

"PICK A SIDE, N!" I screamed.
~
I finally won the battle, but it seemed as if none of the Plasma grunts even came close to us. I sighed, returning my Pokemon. What does he want?! "You're quite strong." N remarked. "But I have a future that I must change. And, for that future... I'll defeat the champion and become unbeatable, unlike any other! I'll make all trainers free their Pokemon! Just try and stop me! If you want to be together with Pokemon, your only hope is to collect the badges from each area and head for the Pokemon League! Try and stop me there, if you dare! If your conviction is not strong enough, you will never be able to defeat me." He hid his eyes under his hat and chuckled. Something about his tone spooked me and I backed away.

"N... Do you hear yourself?!" I yelled. He showed his face, smirking evilly.

"Yes... I do... It sounds wonderful." he muttered. I began to step back, but he grabbed my shoulder. "Touko," His voice was normal now, but I didn't dare to turn around to face that... Expression. "We're friends... Right?" I shuddered, and without thinking, I began to run. Away from him. He's a creep. He's... Special. Someone special... To me... No! "Touko!" he called.

"S-stay away from me... F-fr..." I couldn't utter the last words, 'freak' out of my mouth. I was afraid to say it. I was scared of his reaction, and I began to run again.

I was scared of him.

He lied.

He's crazy.

I hate him.

But... Why do I feel a tiny glimmer of... Warmth? And worry?

"Watch your back, Touko White." the shady man said and magically teleported away, not before knocking my over into the electric blue stone behind me. A shock of electricity got to me and I pulled back to rub my wrist. "Ow..." I groaned. A red mark was left on it that stung when I touched it. "OW!" I yowled.

"T-Touko?! Is that you?" A voice echoed into the room. It warmed my chest for some reason, but when I saw N standing behind me, it was replaced by uncomfortableness. He made his way to me. "Touko, are you alright? What happened?" he asked. I stepped away, gripping my wrist which hurt even more. Stay away from me... I said in my head. "Did you get hurt? Let me see, I have some herbs that I gathered yesterday." He reached into his pocket and pulled out some leaves. "Touko... Where does it hurt?" he asked. I hesitated. No... He is not laying his hands on me again. But somehow, my body gave into his actions and I handed him my trembling wrist. He inspected it and shook his head. "I'm sorry this happened to you, Touko. I hate seeing you hurt." N said and he bit into the leaf. Some juice spilled out and he rubbed it onto my wound. I winced.

"Ow... This stuff stings..." I managed to say.

"Don't worry, it will make the injury heal faster." he chuckled. What? I don't understand him... First, he's a determined young man who's concerned about Pokemon. Next, he was a power-hungry, crazy person, and now it's like he's my older, caring brother. What does he want? What is he trying to say to me? Does he even know where he's going or what he's doing? N patched up my wound with a scrap of gauze and sighed. "Does that feel better?" he asked. I nodded, not even thanking him. "That was the Shadow Triad just now. Ghetsis enlisted them in Team Plasma. Apparently, they were the ones who prepared the Galvantula nest at the cave entrance." he explained. I remembered the web that was previously blocking that entrance to Chargestone Cave. "Chargestone Cave... I like this place. Formulas express electricity and its connection to Pokemon... If people did not exist, this would be an ideal place." He paused. "You have been chosen, you know."

"Chosen?" I echoed. N nodded.

"Yes. Chosen..." He trailed off, but then shook his head. "Touko, I never got to ask you, do you have a dream of your own?"

I paused steadily. "Yes, I do. I want to become the best Pokemon trainer I can and befriend many Pokemon along the way," I told him honestly, but quickly. He smiled.

"You have a dream..." N said, gazing at my injured wrist. "That's wonderful... Touko-"

"Hi there, Touko!" I heard Professer Juniper call. We both turned to face her and Bianca. "Bianca and I are finished gathering data of the Pokemon here for the Pokedex!" She turned to N. "Oh! And who is this young man?" N hid his eyes under his hat.

"Um... This is N!" Bianca introduced for him.

"Professer Juniper, correct?" N muttered.

"Yes, it is," she replied.

"...Professor Juniper, what are you thinking? You appear to have no qualms about the relationship between Pokemon and people. You put Pokemon into categories using arbitrary rules and think you can understand them like that... The very idea of a Pokedex revolts me. What do you have to say for yourself?" Professer Juniper stared at N curiously.

"Oh, my. Looks like you're not my biggest fan. Your opinion is understandable. It happens to be different from mine, which is equally understandable. How about if all people get to decide for themselves how to relate to Pokemon?" she explained.

"You're saying I should just allow people to think whatever they want and treat Pokémon however they want, no matter whether the Pokémon suffer?!" N snapped. "I refuse to tolerate the existence of a world like that!" He turned to me. "Touko..." he started, but then walked away. What a change of attitude... I thought. I wonder what he was going to say?

"Yes! We got the Jet Badge!" I cheered to Serpirior as we walked out of the gym. She nodded and smiled. "Thanks buddy, it was all because of you and the others that we won!" I noticed a familiar figure walking in through the slightly crowded town: N. I gathered up my courage and slowly, I went up to him and tapped his shoulder. "H-hey," I greeted shyly. He turned around and gasped.

"Ah, Touko!" he beamed. "How's your wrist doing?" I totally forgot about my wrist! I looked at it and didn't even notice that the gauze had fallen off during the battle with Skyla. It sure was windy in that gym! The wound had completely healed and didn't even hurt when I touched it.

"It's much better, thank you for the medicine by the way..." I said. He smiled.

"It was nothing," he admitted. "Hey, Do you... Mind if I talk to your Pokemon for a second, Touko?"

"What...?"

"Don't worry," he said, kneeling beside Serpirior. "I've been living with Pokemon since I was born, so it's easier for me to talk with them than with people... Because Pokemon never tell lies." Before I could protest, he began talking to Serpirior. "Hey, Serpirior. Would you tell me what kind of trainer Touko is?" Serpirior began to calmly chat with N, who listened carefully."Okay, got it. So Touko was born in Nuvema Town, lives with Mom, and was given the Pokedex to start off a journey to see the world. Still, this Serpirior trusts you for some reason. That's good! If every person and Pokemon cared about one another like you two do, I could watch over the future of people and Pokemon without having to liberate Pokemon from people who just use them."

"N..." I murmured.

"Ghetsis is using Team Plasma to search for some special stones-the Light Stone and the Dark Stone... These stones hold the essence of two legendary Pokemon. It is said that when they lost their physical form, they fell into a slumber and were transformed. Now, they wait for the hero's arrival... I shall resurrect a legendary dragon-type Pokemon from one of these stones, and become its friend. That will show the world that I am the new hero. Everyone will follow what I say!" He grinned evilly again, like he did back at Nimbassa. I shrunk back, and N seemed to notice. He sighed sorrowfully. "My vision is to change the world without using force." he said in a calmer voice. "Trying to change the world by force will just make others resist. If people resist, the ones that will be hurt are the innocent Pokemon used by foolish trainers. You understand. Pokemon are not just tools for people to use!" For once, I actually did understand what he was trying to say, about the abusive trainers out there in the world.

"But... not all trainers are like that! There are many nice trainers out there who treat their Pokemon like family!" I fought. N smiled.

"I know... Like you, Touko..." he said. I began to blush as well as him. "But there are bad trainers. As a result..." he continued. "Pokemon and trainers who care about one another, like you and your Pokemon, will be separated. And that does break my heart a little." He bit his lip and patted my shoulder. "I'll be seeing you, Touko..." he said before walking away."Oh, and Touko?" I spun around. "Next time you see me, I will be the hero that I so desired... Next time, we will be... Enemies. That's what I wanted to tell you." He began walking again, quicker this time.

But... I thought you said we were going to be friends? I thought. Then again... My reaction... N...

"What do you think, Touko? How do you like the beautiful form of the Pokemon who appears before and fights beside the hero that will lead the way to a new world?!" N cried. I stared in awe at the angelic white dragon of Unova towering before me. It's blazing aura warming my skin. "Now, Reshiram and I will head to the Pokémon League and defeat the champion! This will be the last of the Pokemon battles that hurt Pokemon so. A world for Pokemon alone... It's finally going to be a reality." That twisted expression appeared on his face again. "Touko! If you want to stop me, you must become a hero as well!"

"M-me?!" I cried.

"That's right! When Reshiram's counterpart, Zekrom, recognizes you, we will finally be even, and then you can try to stop us!" I couldn't believe it! Was this all a game to him?! Just some way to anger me and make me fight back?!

"All this time you had been leading Team Plasma, sacrificing so many things, got the legendary Pokemon of truth, just so I can join into your stupid little battle?! Just to provoke me?!" I spattered. N's eyes widened.

"T-Touko? N-no! This isn't like you-"

"Isn't like me?! ISN'T LIKE ME?! It's YOU who's been so moody for this whole adventure!" I screamed. "Taking care of me soon after you start laughing like your father and shouting the most twisted things?! I've had ENOUGH of your fake personalities, you probably don't care anyway!" I turned around. "Okay. I'll play your little game."

"Touko, I-"

"I'll catch Zekrom. Yeah. I'll protect Unova... From you." I spat out the last word so harshly that from the corner of my eye, I saw N flinch. "Huh. Now look at me." I said. "I'm starting to sound like you already. I should stop. You go and do whatever you need to now." It felt so great to have exploded at him finally. To tell him how I felt. I simply began to make my way to the exit. "I've matured, N. I'm not the little trainer that you saw in Accumula Town anymore." N said nothing.

Finally! I had defeated the Elite Four and I was in my way to the champion: Alder. As I made my way up the towering stairs, I heard laughing. Maniacal laughing. My footsteps quickened and I bursted through the door, seeing the horrid sight before me. N was standing next to a defeated Alder, who was on the ground. "It's over!" N cried triumphantly. "Never again will Pokemon be made to suffer or be held captive by humans. It's all thanks to my friend, Reshiram!" N smirked at the older man. "You may have the title of champion... But you can't stop me with just a title. Your soft heart has left you weak. Years ago, you lost your Pokemon, your partner, to sickness. In order to forget the pain in your heart, you wandered Unova... Who knows how long it's been since you've had to fight with your full strength?!" he spat.

No, N... Not again... Stop it!

"I actually kind of like that about you, though." N scoffed, walking away from the trembling Alder. "As a Trainer who far outmatches the champion, I shall issue an order across Unova: Trainers of the world, free your Pokemon!" Then he laughed. No, not like he did all those past times, he laughed as if he was corrupted. I clenched my fists.

"N! Please! Stop this at once!" Alder pleaded. N glared at him.

"You and I both put our beliefs on the line and fought with all our strength. And I won. Do not say another word." he growled. I couldn't take it anymore.

"N!" I hollered. N turned his gaze upon me.

"...I've been waiting." he said. "In the future I envisioned, you obtained a stone. And, indeed, you have. That Dark Stone... Zekrom is responding to it." He stepped away from Alder. "Stop. This is not a suitable for the legendary dragons! From the ground, rise up! The castle of Team Plasma! Surround the Pokemon League!" The ground began to tremble as a huge castle spewed from the earth. It encased the Pokemon League with its tall structure. "What has just appeared is Team Plasma's castle." He explained. "The king's words will resound from the heights to all below. You must come to the castle, as well. Everything will be decided there. Whether Pokemon will be liberated from people, or whether Pokemon and people will live together... We will see whose belief is stronger... And our result will change the world." He ran up the stairs that crashed into the wall of the League.

"Touko," Alder groaned, getting up.

"Are you okay, Alder?" I asked.

"Don't worry about me, go stop N." I hesitated.

"Alder, why do I feel bad for him?" I asked. "All this time, he had been making some many people suffer, yet, somehow I worry for him. Why?" Alder smiled.

"N... He is as lost as you are right now," he stated. "He doesn't understand how he feels himself, and I dare say it, neither do you. Yet."

"I know how I feel right now. Absolutely confused and furious!" I huffed. The older man laughed.

"You may understand later, but for now, you must fight. For Unova!"

"Alder..." I stared at him before standing up. "Okay. For Unova!" I ran after N up the stairs, not prepared for the battle that was inching closer and closer towards me.
