Chapter 3: Unseen Connections

Author's POV

The morning air was crisp, a thin mist hanging over the city as Y/N hurried to her classes. She hadn't slept much after the unsettling message the previous night. Whoever had sent it seemed to know more about her than she was comfortable with, and she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.

As she strolled through campus, Y/N's mind kept flashing back to the concert. The way Jungkook looked at her was told in that instant in a break in time so raw, so real, it felt surreal. She shook her head free of the feeling. Jungkook is a global star, and she is just one more face in the sea of thousands, after all.

Or so she thought.

Jungkook's POV

Jungkook couldn't get Y/N out of his head. The past few days, her face kept resurfacing, a mystery he felt compelled to unravel. He'd always been careful to keep his distance from the fans for fear of it spreading to the media. Something about Y/N, though, was different. She had a quiet strength in her eyes, a depth that seemed to pull him into herself.

Jungkook scrolled through the fan photos of the concert, hoping she was there, but he never had any proof. He was mistaken every time. Irritable, Jungkook put his phone away, stretched out, and stared off into space, his mind developing questions he had no answer to.

Namjoon pointed out his restlessness with an eyebrow. "What's distracting you?"

Jungkook was silent. "That's. it is some fan, I guess. I feel that she is in some kind of distress. I know that sounds crazy, but I just cannot get over this feeling."

Namjoon's gaze softened. "Your instincts. If you think something might be the case, look into it."

Y/N's POV

By lunchtime, Y/N's phone buzzed again. Her heart skipped a beat, but this time it was a message from her friend:

"Hey! Lunch plans?"

Relieved, she said yes quickly. Maybe a casual meal with friends was just what she needed to take away the distressing messages that had flooded her emails since the concert.

She settled in across from her friends at the campus café, surrounded by howls of laughter and chatter, letting her mind drift away from the restlessness. She looked down at her phone, suddenly holding her breath.

Unknown Number: "Having a great lunch?"

She looked around, her eyes wide as she scanned the surroundings for anyone who could be watching her. No one looked suspicious, but the knot in her stomach tightened even more. She could feel her hands trembling as she typed a reply hastily.

Y/N: "Who are you? What do you want from me?"

There was no response.

Y/N clutched her phone, a sense of dread creeping in. She couldn't pretend any longer that this was some innocent joke. Whoever was doing this was intent, and she needed rescue.

As the day dragged on, she made up her mind. She'd try to contact Jungkook. Maybe he wouldn't remember her, but something told her he was the only one who could save her now.

Later That Day

Back at her apartment, Y/N paced, wondering how to approach Jungkook. She felt ridiculous, as if she were chasing a ghost. But the fear bubbling inside her wouldn't let her rest. Taking a deep breath, she logged into a fan platform and found a secure way to send a message to the management.

Y/N: "Hi. I attended the concert a few days ago. Something happened afterward, and I believe someone is trailing me. I do not know whom else I can speak with. Please inform Jungkook that I just need a little time to talk."

She hit send, and her heart pounded while the message disappeared into cyberspace. She had no idea if anyone would read it much less send it further to Jungkook. But it was a small chance-a glimmer of hope in an otherwise terrifying situation.

Jungkook's POV

When he arrived in the dorm, Jungkook received a notification from his team about an urgent message. As curiosity consumes him, he opened it and was shocked when he saw Y/N's name.

His heart skipped a beat as he read her message, knowing that gut instinct was right. She was in trouble, and for reasons he couldn't explain, he felt the overwhelming urge to protect her.

Without further ado, he replied to the message himself.

Jungkook: "Y/N, this is Jungkook. I'll help you. Tell me where you are, and I'll come to you."

He hit send, hoping she would see it soon. The connection between them was stronger than he'd thought it would be, and he was more than resolved to do his best to make sure she was safe.

As the minutes rolled by, Jungkook was getting ready to leave and dressed himself in his jacket and took his phone. Nobody understood what he had been going through, and Jungkook wasn't about to let Y/N face it alone.
