Personality: Amélie is a very caring individual, but also fiercely independent. She has the appearance of someone who has their life together, and for the most part, she does. Despite her independence, she absolutely knows when she needs help or backup, though she isn't always quick to ask for it or accept it, even when she knows it is coming from a place of kindness and selflessness. She is the oldest child of four, and she certainly seems like and eldest child. Her first instinct is usual to care for others, check in on them, offer them her help. She is always prepared, or at least it seems that way. She is definitely the 'mom friend.' Need a hair tie? She has it. Need a pad or tampon? She's got it. Want a snack? She'll give you something. Need some extra change or cash? No worries, Amélie's got you covered. How about a ride? Hop in her car. Need a place to stay? She'll make up her couch until she can help you find other arrangements. Though she doesn't always treat herself with that same kindness. She is her own boss, and doesn't appreciate when others try to tell her what to do. She is more than happy to offer advice when it's asked for, but won't ask for it herself. She is a fiercely loyal person when all is said and done, though she is quick to cut people out of her life who deserve it. Backstory: Amélie grew up in Haiti, but moved to a ranch in Texas with the rest of her family when she was 14 years old. However, they travel back home, to Haiti, whenever they can spare it. Moving to the states was difficult for Ami at first. She was 14, going into her freshman year of high school, not knowing a single soul. It was especially hard as all the other kids had known one another for years, for the most part, and she had a hard time fitting in, even when she joined clubs. So, and though she feels guilty about it to this day, she started using her abilities to open people up to her. Not all the way, she simply made them more friendly towards her, and let them take it from there. She never manipulated or controlled anyone to be her friend, but all the friends she made were because she manipulated some people into that welcoming warmth and friendliness. She was part of the student government organizations, including class council and student council, and was even Vice President for both clubs her senior year. She was also on the debate team and Model UN, which she competed in National Competitions and Championships for. When she got to college, she got two bachelor's degrees, one in Public Relations and the other in Business Management, and went on to secure a Master's degree in Public Relations. She attended Harvard for her Bachelor's degrees and Syracuse for her Master's. Now she owns and runs her own Public Relations firm, which is steadily growing. She already has some big-name clientele. She visits her siblings and family whenever she can, and otherwise keeps in touch with them constantly.
