Part Three
^^Thats Zuri Gardener^^
The silence would've killed me if we hadn't pulled up into the hospital when we did. Iris stops crying almost a complete 30 seconds before we pulled into the parking lot. I look around and scan the faces of these EMTs, none of them look like someone who would know my neighbor. He and his dad are both EMTs themselves.
There isn't any sound outside, or maybe we just couldn't hear them, whenever two Doctors and about three Nurses that I could see swing open the doors.
Iris awkwardly waves to them.
"Nobody's hurt?!" One of the Doctors shouts at us. We all shake our heads in creepy unison. And I clear me throat,
"No sir." I point to the guy who had been driving the mustang, "But he was in an accident and his car flipped, so he might need some checking." The Nurses help him as the Doctor looks at us,
"Why are you all here then? We're you in the car?" I shake my head and answer for my friends,
"No sir, we are the people he flipped over."
You know. I never once believed that Doctors could panic this bad. I mean, yeah there's the shows about this sort of stuff, but that's Hollywood. You expect them to over exaggerate things. Oh no, if anyone had caught that Doctor's look on camera, they would've proved Hollywood right.
When my sentence finished we were instantly rushed off to the rooms, and after checking, it is revealed that nobody was hurt. Even got news that the guy is fine. Me, Iris, and Zuri are all put into the same room and are left facing a giant window. I lean back against the pillows and watch a bird fly by.
"How did he manage to flip over them?" I hear a Police Officer speaking with a Doctor outside the door.
"I don't know. But I sure am glad that nobody was hurt, that could've ended horribly." The Doctor sounds relieved as they walk further away. It's then I catch the Officer's reply,
"The mustang wasn't going that fast, certainly not fast enough to flip it seven feet through the air." My mouth goes dry.
Seven feet?!! That car sailed seven feet over our heads?!?!
"Guys?" Iris' small voice asks. I roll my head. The way they set us up is for Iris in the middle, Zuri on the side farthest from the door, and me on the side closest to the door. Once she has our attention, she continues, "Did y'all notice right before he hit us, the car swerved unnaturally?"
The seed that is still clenched in my fist seems warmer than before.
"I noticed that too. But I'm not questioning it. The Lord works in mysterious ways." Zuri is a form believer in Christ, more so than both me and Iris combined.
The silence descends again.
I can't stand this any longer.
"Hey, if we are going to have moments of silence may I start shouting for my iPod?" They both laugh some and Zuri sits up,
"What are we doing here again?" Me and Iris answer in exact unison,
"Laying here watching time pass because we were told we couldn't leave yet." We are just barely close enough to exchange high fives. Zuri muffles a groan,
"You both know what I meant. And stop acting like those twins, this isn't a host club." We all smile. Zuri continues, "AAAAND, they never said we had to stay here, in this room, just 'here'. They could be talking about the hospital as a whole."
We all exchange evil looks as I grin,
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go exploring!"
