Nobody pov

The four walked to the Hall of Mirrors, where they entered the Heartslabuyl gateway. 

It looked pretty, but after the dreams Kiba had last night, it served to bother her instead. 

The group walked into the mirror, and they ended up in the Heartslabuyl Dorm. 

"Woah! This is gorgeous! It couldn't be more different from ours!" Grim said, as Kiba looked around.

'...I wonder if I could do a garden in the back of Ramshackle. I need to ask Crowley.' She thought, as she sniffed a rose.

"Huh. I prefer wisteria or cherry blossoms, but roses are good to." She said.

"Crap, crap!" They heard a voice nearby. 

"I've gotta get these roses painted, quick!" 

The group followed the voice into the rose maze, where they saw a boy with orange hair and a diamond painted on his face.

Kiba raised an eyebrow.

'Huh. He reminds me of Asriel in a way...' She thought. (No, not the Undertale Asriel, she has a friend named Asriel in the Sky Kingdoms)

"Oh, somebody is here." Grim said.

"Oh, watch out. Any paint splatters and my head is gone." The boy said to himself, as he painted the roses.

"...Why paint white roses, when you could just plant them? How lazy are you people?" Kiba asked, making the boy turn to her, looking slightly offended.

"Eh? We're not lazy, it's just tradition. Do you all need something?" The boy asked.

"What are you doing with that?" Ace asked.

"This? As you can see, I'm painting the roses red." The boy said, gesturing at the roses.

"Eh? Why would you?" Deuce asked.

"Yeah, why not plant red roses, instead of white ones?" Kiba asked.

The boy let out a hum. 

"Your fresh reaction is so cute! Now that I take a good look at you, you're the freshman that busted the ten million madol chandelier yesterday!"

"We're gonna hear about the chandelier until the day after we graduate." Ace said with a sigh.

"And you're the one who added on more punishment by stealing the dorm leader's tart last night! I feel so lucky getting to meet the notorious newcomers first thing in the morning." The boy continued.

He pulled out a cellphone and dashed towards them. "Hey, hey, hey let's take a selfie! Yay!" 

'What in the world is that thing?' Kiba thought.

Grim was the only one who was smiling when he took the photo, Kiba hid behind Deuce a bit.

"Can I put this on Magicam? Tell me your names so I can put you in the tags."

"I'm Deuce Spade."

"Ace."

"Grim and my apprentice."

"Kiba Light."

The boy's phone dinged. "Hoi, upload finished! Ah, I'm your senpai, third year Cater Diamond. Call me Cater. Cay-kun is fine, too. Nice to meetcha~." Cater said.

"Nice to meet you, Cater." Kiba said.

Cater gasped. 

"Ah! You're that cute goddess from the Ramshackle Dorm! Good on you, living in a place like that! It's super dark and you can't get a good Magicam in there. You have my sympathy." He said.

"Uh...thanks?" She said.

"Aw~. You look so cute when you blush! Let me take another selfie!" He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close and taking another picture.

"Hey!" Grim snapped, wiggling in between them. 

"Boy, this guy sure does run his mouth." He said, as Cater uploaded the new photo.

"Ah, I don't have any time for small talk!" Cater said, a panicked look appearing on his face. 

He almost dropped his phone as he shoved it into his pocket. 

"The party is in two days. I don't wanna loss my head for being late." Cater turned to look at them. "Hey, you guys, will you help with painting the roses?"

"But why are you doing something so weird?" Ace asked.

"Red roses at a party are the most photogenic!" Cater replied. 

"Again, why not plant red roses, so you don't have to do that?" Kiba asked, but Cater ignored the question

I've also got to change the flamingos' colors for the croquet match, so I'm busy with all this work." Cater said.

"You're changing them flamingos' colors?! Your chores are weird." Grim said.

"Won't the paint hurt them?" Kiba asked, raising an eyebrows.

"Oh, don't worry! We take every precaution. The paints nontoxic, so if they do eat it, they'll be fine. We take good care of our animals here." Cater said, reassuring her.

****Time skip****

"I want to speak to the dorm leader, is he inside?" Ace said, wiping his face.

"Hm? I think there's still time before he leaves. By the way, Ace the tart thief, did you bring a tart of apology?" Cater asked.

"Ah? No, I came first thing so I'm empty handed." Ace said, confused.

"Ah no. That so? Since you're going against Laws of the Queen of Hearts, number 53: 'One must always return what they stole', I can't let you back in the dorm." Cater said, pulling his pen out.

"Haa? The hell is that?!" Ace exclaimed.

Deuce was about to say something, before he froze.

"Hey, where's Kiba?" Deuce asked.

The four boys blinked in unison and looked around. 

"She must have gone deeper into the maze! We better go get her! It's way too easy to get lost in there." Cater said, putting his pen back.

"Relax, she can fly and she can defend herself." Ace said.

"That may be, but we should at least go find her." Deuce said, before he froze.

He heard the sound...of a voice...that sounded all too familiar in more ways than one.

"Hey do you here that?" He asked. 

Everyone was silent. 

They could hear Kiba faintly singing...and see some butterflies going into the maze, going a certain way.

"Follow the sound of her song, and those butterflies!" He said, as everyone ran in the maze.

Kiba hummed, as she used her magic to paint the flowers. 

There was something about painting the flowers that just felt right to her. 

Painting the roses felt natural, like she'd been doing it all her life.

Kiba harmonized a chant, the butterflies, birds and even a few hedgehogs came to her, listening to her song.

She chanted and danced a bit, the animals moving along with her voice. The boys found her and froze, their eyes opened with awe and shock. Cater took out his phone and recorded it.

"Hmm-mm-mm-mm
Hmm, hmm
Hmm-mm-mm-mm
Hmm, hmm
Hmm-mm-mm-mm
Hmm, hmm
Woo-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh, oh-oh-oh."

She flew in the air, mantas surrounding her, as she twirled and flew in the air. Cater's jaw dropped. "Okay, when you said she could fly, I didn't believe you...now I do." He said. "We told you." Ace said. "How is she doing that?" Deuce asked, eyes wide.

"Speak to me, speak to me

A soft universe."

She chanted a bit more, unleashing a strong magic wave, painting all the roses red. The boys' eyes were wide and mouths were opened.

"...Whoa." They said.

"...I think I'm in love." Cater said, making the three boys snap their neck to him with a glare.

****Time Skip****

The group had to leave, because they didn't have a tart to replace the one Ace stole, so they had to leave, but Cater welcomed Kiba to come back any time she wanted to.

A loud ringing came from nowhere.

"What was that?" Kiba asked.

"This is bad, the warning bell already rang! We're gonna be late!" Deuce cried out.

My shining school life is going to be tarnished on day one! Let's get a move on!" Grim said.

"Everyone hold on!" Kiba said, as she grabbed them and they all teleported to class.
