First Day

Nobody pov

Kiba woke the next morning by the skinny ghost.

"Heeheehee... don't you two have to be up to clean the school?" He asked, pulling the bedsheets off.

"Five more minutes..." Grim muttered.

Kiba got up and stretched.

She grabbed her mask and put it on.

"Laze about too long and you'll never wake up again!" The short ghost said.

"Is that how you got that way?" Kiba asked, brushing her hair

"Nope! We just decided to hang around the school after we died." The short ghost said.

"Hey, do you guys have names?" She asked, putting her hair in a ponytail.

"Oh, I knew we forgot something. I'm Jake." The short ghost said.

"I'm Larry." The skinny ghost said.

"And I'm Moe." The fat ghost said.

Grim yawned and woke up.

"Morning, Grim" She said, placing a hair clip in her hair.

"Morning Kiba." He said, rubbing his eyes.

Kiba heard footsteps in the hallway before there was a knock at the door.

"Miss Light? I'm respecting your privacy by knocking, but asserting my authority by coming in anyway!" Crowley said, walking in.

"Good morning, you two. Did you sleep well?" He asked.

Grim looked annoyed and fell back on the bed.

"I was all sprawled out then I fell out the bottom!"

"Really? I slept fine. Great even." Kiba said.

"Even though you just got tossed over from another world you can still be positive, wonderful! I came to speak to you about your work for today. We'll discuss it over breakfast." He said, ushering them downstairs.

Crowley got to work at once, making Omurice for Kiba.

He also pulled out a can of tuna from seemingly nowhere for Grim.

"Now then, today, you are to clean the campus. But the campus is quite large. But since you have magic it shouldn't be too hard for you. So I'd like you to clean Main Street from the front gate to the library. Understood?" He asked, as they ate.

Kiba nodded, swallowing the last bit of food.

"Got it." She said.

"Please watch Grim closely so he doesn't cause a scene like yesterday." Crowley said.

"I'll try my best." She said, drinking her water.

"I'm counting on you. You also have permission to eat in the cafeteria, so if you need help, just let the staff know. Take care of your work enthusiastically!" He said, patting her head and walking away.

The ghosts took care of the plates, as Kiba and Grim went upstairs.

"I hope they're some clothes here at least." She said, as she looked through the closet.

She found an outfit and grabbed it.

She went to the bathroom and changed...only to be met with a surprise.

Her chest was bigger and nearly busting out of the top.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL-!"

She facepalmed and walked out the bathroom.

"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WEARING?!" Grim asked, blushing a bit.

"It was the only thing I could find. I still have my capes...let me see...aha! Perfect!" She said, putting the cape on.

"That's better." She said.

"Yeah, way better. I don't want anyone looking at my apprentice." Grim said, hopping on her shoulder.

She giggled, grabbed her bag and left the dorm.

Later

They made it to Main Street with cleaning supplies.

"This is Main Street? Goodness...I didn't get a good look yesterday but what's with these statues? All seven of them look pretty creepy." She said, looking around.

Grim went to the first statue.

"This granny looks especially snobby." He said, pointing to it.

"You don't know about the Queen of Hearts?" A voice came from behind them.

They turned around to see an orange haired boy behind them. He had a red heart painted over his eye.

"Queen of Hearts?" She repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"Sorry...who're you?" She asked.

"I'm Ace Trappola. Nice to meet ya, cutie." He said.

She gave him a look.

"Yeah, you to." She said.

"So...about the Queen of Hearts...who was she?" She asked.

"She was someone who valued rules and discipline above all, strict in all things from the march of the card soldiers to the color of rose bushes. It was a land of madness where all submit to her rule." Ace said.

"Why?" Kiba asked, picking up a broom.

"Why you ask? Because or else it was off with your head!" He said.

Kiba and Grim looked at him with wide eyes.

"That's terrifying!" Grim said.

"It's cool! I like it. Nobody would listen to a queen who's just nice all the time, right?" Ace added.

"I suppose. A strong leader is better." Grim said.

Kiba shook her head as she started to sweep.

Something about this conversation didn't feel right to her.

"She sounds suffocating." She hissed.

"You think so... uh, you?" Ace trailed off.

She realized they didn't tell him their names.

"I am Grim. A genius who'll become the greatest magician. The girl over there is Kiba. She's my apprentice." Grim said.

"Nice to meet ya." She said, moving over to the lion statue.

"Hey, Ace. The lion over here with the scar, is he famous?" She asked.

"Of course! This is the King of Beasts who rules over the savannah. However, he was not born to be king, but he took the throne through effort and elaborate planning. After becoming king, he even allowed the loathed hyenas to live in his kingdom without discrimination." Ace said, as Grim climbed on her shoulder.

"Ooooh! I guess he was a rock not held captive by his status!" Grim said.

Kiba went to the next statue, an octopus mermaid holding a contract.

"Who's the lady with octopus legs?" Grim asked.

"The Sea Witch who lives in a cavern in the deep. Her purpose was to help all the unfortunate merfolk. As long as you could pay the price she could transform you, help you find love, anything. And if it was within her power there wasn't anything she wouldn't do. Well, I heard the cost was a bit expensive, though. If it's to grant any wish, then it's natural, don't you think?" Ace said.

"So what you're saying is I can get rich if I become a great magician?!" Grim said, excitedly.

"Then what about this man in the big hat?" Kiba asked, as she cleaned the statue.

"The Sorcerer of the Sand. He was a cunning vizier to a foolish sultan and saw through the fake prince that was actually a street rat trying to deceive the princess. Then he got a magic lamp and became the most powerful sorcerer of all! With that power they say he became sultan." Ace said.

"Ho hoh!" Grim laughed.

"So it is important for magicians to be the center of attention here? Hm. This lady looks cool." Kiba said, as she looked up at the next statue.

"She is the Beautiful Queen. Everyday she checked the 'beauty ranking' in her magic mirror. And when it looked like she might fall from the number one spot, she never hesitated to do anything to get it back. I guess she had the strong will to remain the most beautiful in the world? So freaking amazing. They say she was even adept at making potions." Ace said, rubbing the back of his head.

"She's pretty but...no thanks..." Grim said, shivering.

"You think? But it's cool that she has something she'll never give up." Ace said.

"Over here, what's with the guy on fire? Just looking at him gives me the creeps." Kiba said.

"Lord of the Underworld! He rules a land crawling with evil spirits on his own. No doubt he is extremely skilled. Even though he's got a scary voice, he did that detestable job without ever taking a vacation and his sincerity won over Cerberus, the hydra, even the titans, to fight for him." Ace said.

"So having talent doesn't mean you get to be haughty. Hey, what's the last one, with the horns?" Grim asked.

"This is the Witch of Thorns from the Magic Mountains. Noble and elegant, even within the seven she is top class in magic and curses! She can summon lightning and storms, cover an entire country in thorns, her magic is on a whole other level. There was even a time she transformed into a huge dragon!" Ace said, eyes shining a bit.

"Wow, not bad. I didn't know people could turn into dragons." Kiba said.

"Ooh! A dragon! All monsters look up to them!" Grim said, smiling widely.

"They're all so cool~" Ace said.

Until a sneaky look appeared on his face, giving Kiba a bad feeling.

"Unlike a certain raccoon~."

'I knew it' She thought.

Ace then burst into laughter.

"Pft... ahaha! I can't bear it anymore! Aren't you the guys who went crazy at the entrance ceremony?"

He pointed at Kiba.

"You're that so called goddess who was summoned by the Dark Mirror."

He turned to point at Grim.

"And you, monster, weren't called but still trespassed."

'Jerk wad.' She thought, glaring at him.

"Yeah, it took everything I had not to lose it at the ceremony." Ace sneered.

"Wha?! You're a rude one!" Grim said, angrily.

"And now you weren't allowed in and regulated to janitor? Haha, how lame." Ace said.

Grim growled at him, while Kiba just stared at him...hands shaking.

"On top of that, you don't even know about the Great Seven! How ignorant can you be? I recommend you go back to kindergarten before coming to Night Raven College." Ace laughed.

Grim growled again, the flames of his ears were starting to burn a little brighter.

"I thought I'd just mess with you a bit but you really blew my expectations away. Unlike you two, I actually have classes to attend. Keep this school squeaky clean, you two." He waved, teasingly, before walking away.

"This jerk! He's just gonna say that and leave! I'm pissed now!" Grim snapped.

He heard a crackling noise and turned.

"Kiba? You okay?" He asked.

Her hands glowed white, as she bawled up her fists, growling.

She reached in her bag and pulled out a dagger.

She threw it at Ace.

Ace looked behind him and nearly dodged the dagger as it cut his face.

"What the-!" He froze, seeing the death glare Kiba had.

She was panting and growling at him.

Black horns were growing on her head as her eyes turned red.

Ace shivered in fear, before a wave of fire came at him.

"It's what you get for making fun of my minion and I! I'm gonna light up that fire-head of yours!" Grim said, snapping Kiba out of her trance.

The horns vanishing rom her head as her eyes went back to the white glow.

"Fire-head, huh? You've really got guts picking a fight with me." He looked at Kiba.

"Stay out of my way girlie, or I'll turn you into a puffy, little toy-poodle!" He threatened.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!" She yelled, fire appearing on her hands.

Grim blew out more fire.

 Ace dodged with a smirk.

"Uh-oh, gotta watch out. Take that!" He pulled out a pen and flicked it, sending a gust of wind down Main Street.

"This guy is blowing wind all over the place! My fire gets all twisted up!" Grim said.

"Then stop breathing fire!" Kiba yelled.

"What's happening? A fight?" A student asked.

"Yeah! Get 'em!" Another cheered.

"DON'T ENCOURAGE THEM!!!" Kiba shouted.

"A flimsy little fire like that won't hit me." Ace boasted.

"Stop it!" Kiba said, running in the middle of the fight.

She heard some of the other students warn her to stay back and be careful.

"Eat this!" Grim yelled.

He let out a swarm of fire, right as Kiba stood in between the two.

"Kiba, look out!" Grim shouted, as he realized what was about to happen.

Kiba's eyes went wide.

"Move girlie!" Ace yelled.

A gust of wind moved the fire in a different direction.

Unfortunately, the said direction was at the statue of the Queen of Hearts.

Kiba dashed to it and got in front of the statue, the fire hitting her cape, causing her to hit the statue, head first making a sick 'CRACK!' sound.

Everyone gasped, as she fell limp.

Ace's eyes widened as he panted.

"Is she...?"

"She can't be alive. Did you hear that crack?"

"KIBA!!" Grim yelled and ran to her.

Her mask was cracked, glowing white blood ran down her face as she groaned.

"LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE, FIRE HEAD!! THANKS TO YOU, KIBA'S OUT COLD!" Grim yelled.

"MY FAULT?! WHO TOLD HER TO GO RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STATUE IN THE FIRST PLACE?!" Ace snapped back.

"ENOUGH!" Crowley's tone echoed over Main Street, silencing the two.

"Just what is going on here!?" He demanded.

"Huh! Headmaster..." Ace whimpered.

"He's gonna tie us up with the Lash of Love! Get outta here!" Grim panicked.

He and Ace made the run away.

Two black ropes soared over to them, entangling the two runaways.

Grim shrieked in pain.

"Hurts just as much the second day in a row!" He complained.

"This is my Lash of Love." Crowley said, crossing his arms.

"It'll be another hundred before you can outrun me!" He said, staring down at Grim.

"I told you yesterday to 'not cause any trouble', didn't I?" He waved an arm towards the statue.

"Then you go and...MS. LIGHT!!" He yelled, running over to her.

"Ms. Light?! Are you okay?! Can you hear me?!" He asked, patting her cheek gently.

She groaned in pain, as her mask fell off.

Crowley was shocked by her face.

He saw the blood going down her face.

He sighed and shook his head.

He grabbed her cracked mask, picked her up and looked at the two.

"You, what's your grade and name?" He asked.

"Ace Trappola, first year." Ace said, looking at Kiba's limp body.

"Then, Trappola and Grim, as punishment I order the two of you to wash one hundred windows around campus!" Crowley said, harshly.

"What?! No fair! It's all cause this joker was making fun of us!" Grim snapped.

"Me, too?" Ace asked.

"Yes, you to. Thanks to both of your stupid actions, a student is injured! After school, meet in the cafeteria. Understood?" Crowley asked.

"Fine..." Ace groaned.

"Nothing but misery since yesterday!" Grim complained, as Crowley left with Kiba.

Grim waited for a few minutes, before running after them.

Kiba was his apprentice after all.

With Crowley

"COMING THROUGH! COMING THROUGH! STUDENT IN TROUBLE HERE!!" He yelled, running through the halls, shocking the students.

"Hey, isn't that the goddess of light?"

"Yeah...what happened to her?"

"Oh dear. Poor thing."

"How did she get hurt?"

"Is that blood? If so, why is it white?"

Two boys, one with hyena ears and the other with wolf ears, looked at her, concerned.

"Isn't that her?" The hyena boy asked.

The wolf boy nodded.

"That's her." He said.

"Leona's not gonna be happy about this." The hyena boy said.

Crowley ran all the way to the nurses office and laid Kiba down.

He grabbed some bandages and ointment, but dropped them in a rush.

"Crowley, calm down!" A voice said.

He turned to see a man with white and black hair.

"Crewel, don't tell me-"

"You need to calm down. She'll be fine. It's just a small head wound." Crewel said, taking the things from him and went to Kiba.

He carefully cleaned her wound and bandaged her head.

She exhaled in her sleep as she groaned and turned over her cleavage getting exposed.

"Oh my good...I'll make her some new clothes." Crewel said, as he carefully covered her with the blanket.

"She'll be fine. Calm down." He said, to Crowley as he left.

Crowley sighed as he sat by Kiba, taking off her bag.

He couldn't help but look inside.

He saw tons of masks, instruments, potions, a lantern, an umbrella, capes and...a swing set?!

'How in the world does she fit this stuff in here?!' He thought, as he pulled out a book.

He opened it and saw tons of pictures and drawings.

The pictures were Kiba, with other kids.

Some of them showed her under water, on a beach, around snow, in a cave, near a mountain.

The drawings were capes, masks, instruments or weapons.

He was surprised by her art skills.

Then a page fell out, but he grabbed it.

It was a music sheet.

'She writes music?' He thought.

The song was called: 'The Seed.'

He looked over the lyrics and was amazed by her work.

He smiled at the sleeping girl and caressed her cheek.

He placed the book back in her bag and set it at the end of the bed.

He got up and left the nurse office, looking at Kiba one last time, before closing the door.

Grim snuck in and saw Kiba.

He hopped in bed and curled underneath her, falling asleep.

She hugged him close in her sleep, causing her to smile.
