Months passed since the Hyperion crew abandoned its own homeworld, wandering in the Sea of Quanta, without a purpose, without knowing where is it going.

Sometimes the people repair the Hyperion and perform maintenance on the ship, but fixing it completely is near impossible, because they need supplies.

Food? They have the cabbage garden which is still working.. The people's life has settled down for quite a bit now, they're trying their best to survive from day to day.

But still, if they don't hop into a bubble universe, another reality to resupply, no way they can last long.

"Captain, dinner's ready!" - Theresa walked inside the engine room, where the Captain and some other man are repairing the engine.

"Ah. Yes, Theresa. Boys, that's for today." - The Captain saying, the other peoples stop working and packing up their tools.

The Captain wiping the oil from his hands with some old clothes.

"Well, still as messy as ever right girl?" - The Captain said as he slaps into the engine, in a friendly way of course.

Like, that one old dude in street racing movies that introduce an old car to the main character.

"So.. How was it today Captain?"

"Well, pretty normal as usual, there's still some parts broken, if we could get this lady work again, the whole Hyperion will be able to move."

"I see..."

The Captain keep wiping his hands and looking down. As if he's run out of topics to chat.

"Well... What's for dinner?"

"Fried cabbage, cabbage with soy sauce, burnt cabbage." - Theresa responded.

"Okay. Let's go then."

Life wasn't easy on Hyperion in these times. Food supplies are limited, children and ladies only have 2 meals a day in the morning and evening, men only eat in the evening.

They have to recycle the water and reusing it for months. Sometimes they got injured from work and it is hard to treat the wounds.

Basically everyone else on the ship is healed completely, no one's in coma, no one lost an arm or leg. Except that a dude lost both legs.

The Hyperion has stopped moving, mostly because of the engines, and the reactor is still working fine and providing energy to the crew.

Everybody living in hardest conditions now, but they are still smiling happily, like a family. In the dinner, everybody even though have to eat the same thing again and again, and not even that much to satisfy their hunger, but they're still happy, smiling to each other, telling stories and jokes.

According to the clocks, night has fallen and mostly everyone fell asleep. Except for some people.

Einstein is still waking up, and doing some researching in the laboratory. The Captain knocks the lab's door.

"May I come in?" - The Captain asked gently, until Einstein replied he can, he opens the door and coming inside.

"Still checking on me like every night?" - Einstein asked, while fixing some mechanical parts, while being observed by a hand-sized robot shaped round.

"Welp. Yep. Have to check everyone on the ship, can't lose anyone." - Captain saying to Einstein.

Einstein smiled a little bit. "Have anyone told you that you're a good Captain?"

"Not yet. Why?"

"The most effective situation is to remove those weakling ones and injured ones to reduce the amount of food and water the survivors consumed everyday, but yet, you chose to keep everyone on this ship, and haven't ejected anyone." - Einstein asked that.

"... Yeah. I don't want to let anyone else die. We are the last of our kind, from our world at least."

"Hm... It's a shame that none of the girls have picking you up yet Captain, or is it because you're into a Prince rather than Princess?"

"... Well.. No." - Captain saying. "I just... Feeling like I shouldn't laying hands- but by the way what are you doing?"

"I'm trying to create some communicating devices. And some masks."

The Captain now is being aware of something that Einstein's planning.

"What are these for?"

Einstein stopped working. And she turning back to the Captain, facing with him.

"We can't continue to live like this Captain. You understand it better than anyone else on this ship. The time will come, when some of us have to go into these worlds and at least get some supplies." - Einstein saying to the Captain.

"... Yeah. I know. We have to."

"Even though I know that might be a gamble, some of us might won't feel well when entering those worlds. But we ran out of options, Captain, we have to do it as soon as possible."   

"... Einstein, if it's ready, can I go?"

"... Why?" - Einstein looked surprised while looking at the Captain.

"Well... I'm still remembering how useless I am, how powerless I am. That's why I gotta try harder and actually do something, rather than just sitting in the safe zone, giving out orders and watch others die." - Captain saying to Einstein while sitting down on a chair

"... That is an option, Captain. Of course I know you would say something like that. Isn't that right? Ai-chan?" - Einstein called Ai-chan.

Ai-chan's voice popped up from a speaker in the corner of the room.

"Yes! I know that the Captain will eventually said something like that as well! He has secretly tried to work out more often while repairing the engines, and in his free time."

"Wait what? Wait no-"

"Don't even think of denying it Captain~ I even have 3.13 GB of videos recorded your working out!" - Ai-chan sounds energetic.

"Oh god. Hahaha..." - The Captain chuckled as he put his hand on his forehead out of cringe.

"Going inside there is a thing Captain, we don't know if the bubble worlds are actually safe or not. You need to have some Valkyries with you. Need me picking up some for you?"

"No thanks, I think I can pick them up by myself." - The Captain refuses Einstein's offer, while looking at that robot on the table which was originally created by Tesla.

"Well, if she was here she would have told you to shove yourself into a world months ago, right after we're out of depression." - Einstein saying it jokingly.

"Hahaha... Agree. If that's her..."

The following day, everyone else are still sleeping, the people who are going into a bubble world, which is another universe, decided to go now.

The Captain goes with Kiana and Rita, the rest will staying on Hyperion in case there are Quantum Honkai creatures attack.

"Put those masks on, they will protect you from the air of the universe if it is poisoned." - Einstein saying.

"Okay."

The three putting on the masks, and looking at each other.

"Good, it seems the masks works well. Carry these, each of you." - Einstein tosses some small devices to these three.

"This is?"

"Quantum transport device. I can transport anything you guys need from this ship to you guys, like weapons. For beginning, Kiana only need to carry a pistol that is fully loaded, I think that's more than enough." - Einstein saying.

"So... Anything else we need to note?"

"Note that the transport device is not that actually good, it just doesn't have much power as you think. It can transport around 3 times I think."

"Okay, thanks, Einstein." - The Captain saying and smiles to Einstein, from behind the mask.

"Now, I pray for your journey, return in one piece."

"No problem! Leave it to us!" - Kiana said, still showing off her energetic personality.

"Please don't worry too much, we will be fine." - Rita smiles and saying kindly.

"Now, let's go. Shall we?" ---

After that, nobody remembered what happened next.

"Ugh.. Ouch.. My head.."

The Captain uses his hand to hold his head and slowly getting up, some grains of sand fell off from his face.

"What the..."

He said as he looking confusingly. His face was kissing sand the whole time. The mask fell off by somehow.

"Blawrghhh!!! Blawthfhh!!!" - He spits the sand out of his tongue, then looks around, seeing Kiana and Rita laying on the sand unconsciously like him minutes ago.

"Hey! Rita! Kiana! Get up! Get up!" - He shakes Kiana and Rita.

"Don't worry much, Captain. They are just unconscious. They'll wake up shortly after." - Einstein's voice coming up but he doesn't know from where.

"Einstein?" - He looks around. "Where are you?"

"I'm sending signals and contacting to you through the mask. It seems that the air is not polluted or poisoned, but you are quite unlucky, Captain." - Einstein's voice coming out from a mask that is away from the Captain and the other two.

"Jezz... 3 more minutes..." - Kiana saying it with a sleepy voice, and turning over.

"Kiana! Get up! This is no playing! Get up!" - Captain keeps on shaking Kiana.

Rita wakes up because of the noises, and she looks around before taking off her mask.

"Captain?" - She looks around confusingly.

Kiana got up as well.

"What the..."

The three looks around, they're in some sort of desert, but the skies are not blue, they're like polluted, smokes everywhere on the skies.

"Captain, bad news." - Einstein saying.

The Captain picking up his mask.

"What do you mean?"

"Look to your right."

Without a question, the Captain looks to his right, and what he sees from the distance left him speechless.

The same goes for the other two when they looked to the same direction.

"Oh god."

What they saw, is a city, but have been destroyed and possibility abandoned. Surrounded by wastelands.

Yep, welcome to a post-apocalypse world. Except that it turned worst than APHO world.
