Wind swims through her hair as the sunlight shines onto her sunglasses, the man beside her taps the steering wheel with his forefinger and hums quietly to the song on the radio and the man behind them both leans back in his seat and watches the clouds in the bright blue sky. No one wanted to break the carefree atmosphere that they all hungered for weeks, months even. Shadows of stripes lay on the faces as they enter a forest, Nabi watches the trees rise up towards the sky, somewhere where she wishes she could be. The music tunes out into incoherent sounds and Seokjin sighs heavily and turns it off. 

"The forest is too dense for any signal," Namjoon stretches his neck and releases the soft popping sounds. "Stay on the road, if we got lost in this forest that would be it for us."

"Don't worry, I'm not going to drive off this perfectly nice road and start trekking in the dark forest like a lunatic," Seokjin replies, dropping one of his hands onto his lap. "Or should I?"

Nabi tries not to smile as she turns herself to face him.

"If there is even one thought of 'I should drive into the forest like a lunatic because that would be an exciting story to tell the grandchildren' I will feed you to the wolves chunk by chunk." Nabi pulls her sunglasses down her nose, eyeing him up. "And don't think for a second that I wouldn't hesitate."

Smirking to himself, Seokjin presses down on the pedal, the speed rising quickly. Namjoon leans back into his seat again and holds onto his seatbelt, Nabi watches the forest again. After realising that his rise in fear didn't affect Nabi, he slows the car back down under the speed limit. 

"I see it!" Nabi exclaims, taking off her sunglasses off. "Look, over there, on your left! You have still a little more to go yet before turning off-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Seokjin already turned the steering wheel making them go round in a circle before stopping at the right direction.

"Can you stop being crazy for just one moment?" Namjoon lets out a breath. "You could have flipped over the car!"

"But I didn't," Seokjin looks over to the two most important people in his life, who have faces full of shock and horror, and laughs. "Cheer up! We're alive aren't we?"

Namjoon and Nabi exchange looks before getting out of the car, leaving Seokjin to laugh with himself. They both watch Seokjin smack his legs and laugh and quickly walk off.

"You do know the house is over there, near the horizon, there's quite a bit to walk," Namjoon catches up to Nabi who is speed walking to the direction of the house. "It would take five minutes in the car."

"Yeah, but I'm stubborn so I'm going to walk it," Nabi looks over her shoulder at Seokjin, who is still laughing, and fastens her pace. "The faster we walk, the more of a chance we can beat him so our egos don't deflate."

The car door slams and Nabi and Namjoon glance at each other before breaking into a run through the trees. Shadows dance across the two of them, the sun leaving spotlights across the branch covered ground. Snapping echoes the still forest, the wind has stopped and to the three of them the world has come to halt. Panting and exhausted sounds of laughter fills the forest, Nabi jumps up to try and touch the shortest branches, Namjoon outstretches his arms and throws his head back and Seokjin uses all of his energy to try and catch up with the other two. Although the three of them have different emotions, feelings and sense of freedom in these precious few minutes they all had the same thought; if only they could have one more day of this unexpected bliss. 

One more day; one more day of the beauty of nature, one more day of thoughtless freedom, one more day of timeless happiness, one more day of being surrounded by those you love the most, one more day of a ride of smiles and laughter, one more day of content. Unfortunately, for these three, happiness needs to be earned, and nothing is this easy. 

Namjoon is the first person to stop at the last line of trees, a barren land of dirt lay before him and after that, a remote bungalow. The scene itself was strange, the bungalow had a fifty metre radius of barren land around it in a circular shape as if it was one of those peculiar alien rings in wheat fields. 

It didn't take long for Nabi and Seokjin to reach the end of the forest, they too absorbed their surroundings. 

"A bungalow surrounded by dirt," Seokjin exclaims through his panting. "You were right, Namjoon."

"Hm." Namjoon replies, catching Nabi's attention. "Let's go inside."

"I think Nabi should stay here," Seokjin places his hands on Nabi's shoulders. "As a look out."

"Seokjin," Namjoon sighs. "Nabi's part of this mission, and of all of them yet to come, if you hide her from the dark for too long she will drown in the end."

"I can do it," Nabi turns around, giving Seokjin a reassuring smile. "We're a team, remember?"

Looking between them both, Seokjin nods to Nabi. The men walk towards the house with Nabi not far behind them. The house looked empty; the windows were dark and dusty, ivy strangled the bricks, tiles on the ground had flowers growing over them. Nabi would have thought it looked beautiful if her reason of being here was under different circumstances. She stood behind Seokjin as Namjoon prepares himself to bust open the door.

"On the count of three," Namjoon whispers, his shoulders tense. "One, two, three!"

Again, I apologise for becoming the one I despised the most: an inconsistent writer. Since the beginning of January I have had at least one exam per week and before that I just didn't feel like writing. Today I have done none of the things I was supposed to do due to being sick :( so I decided to update (so I'm sorry if this update is bad, I'll blame it on me being sick).

I'll try to update more often, I bet you have heard that from me at least thrice, but school comes first.
